Memory Block 3 - Garnier de Naplouse - Acre
Combat Training
Because you did such a nice job on the last kill, Al Mualim has rewarded you with the
Short Blade and
Counter Kill.
Exit the inner fortress and you'll be placed in the Training Ring to learn about Counter Kill. To do so, hold the Deflect button and when you see an enemy about to attack, press the "Attack" button. You'll get a quick little animation of you doing a cool counter move. Do this three times in the Training Ring and you'll automatically exit out.
Getting to Acre
Ride a horse to Kingdom. Once in Kingdom, locate Acre in the southwest of the map. Ride your horse to the marker and ride through the archways. Be sure to activate any View Points that you pass along the way.
Garnier de Naplouse - Investigation
Acre - Poor District
As you enter town there will be a Save Citizen opportunity, this time for a monk. Do so and you'll be attacked by about a dozen men, more than you've had to face in the past. Fortunately for you, though, you have Counter Attack. Use it on each of the men, one-at-a-time, to thin their ranks until they're all dead.
Afterwards, you'll see a group of Scholars. Blend in with them to enter the city.
Once you are safely inside the city walls, locate and climb the View Point marked on your Map. This will reveal the Bureau, in the southeast corner of the Poor District.
Before you go around looking for investigations, I highly recommend that you clear out all 11 View Points. This will get you familiar with the city and will reveal all 6 investigation markers for you. Be aware that many of the roofs have archers on them. Take them out as you please remembering that you can push them off the roof with a Grab and Throw.
Pick Pocket - East - Map showing candelabras and patients within the fortress.
Pick pocket the long-haired carpenter in the street.
Informer - Northeast - Garnier secludes himself within his fortress walls.
Approach the highlighted man. He'll challenge you to collect 20 Masyaf flags in 3:00. The flags are marked on your GPS and more or less constitute a circuit. I recommend starting to the left of the informer by climbing the railing and jumping to the awning. From there, use your GPS and when you get one flag you'll want to locate the next. If you follow the circuit you'll end up right back at the informer, easily beating the 3:00 limit.
Eavesdropping - Northwest - There are some fortress roof guards absent from patrol duty.
Eavesdrop on the two soldiers by the fountain.
Informer - Southwest - None may enter the fortress save for scholars and guards.
You must Stealth Assassinate the marked soldier and then return to the informer. The target soldier is the flashing X on your Map and GPS. Equip your Hidden Blade, sneak up behind him, and do him in. Return to the informer to gain some intelligence.
Interrogation - South Southwest - Garnier removes himself from the world around him while tending to his patients.
Target the man preaching about Garnier. Wait for his speech to end and then follow him down the stairs. He'll turn to the left and enter an alley. Although there will be other people around you, go ahead and punch him in this alley. He'll tell you that a good time to strike is when Garnier is with patients.
Pick Pocket - Central - Acquired letter which shows the connection of Garnier and two other men.
To get to this investigation use the roofs to the north of the marker. Drop down into the courtyard/open area and then head south to the marker. Try not to pick pocket the man in view of a soldier.
Garnier de Naplouse - Assassination
Go to the Bureau to get the assassination marker.

Combat Training
This time you have earned
Throwing Knives and the
Tackle ability. Head to the training ring to practice.
To Tackle, while sprinting, slide your thumb over so that you also hit the "Tackle" button. This is not so much of a tackle as it is a shoulder check. Use this to knock people out of your way.
Throwing Knives - Throwing Knives are an invaluable tool for long distance Stealth Kills. To use them, select them by pushing Left on the D-Pad (same as for Short Blade). Lock on to the enemy you want to kill and then press and hold the "Attack" button to throw the knife. If you don't press and hold you'll just swing your Short Blade.
If you run out of Throwing Knives you'll need to pick pocket more from Thugs. You can recognize Thugs, because, first of all, you can lock on to them. Secondly, they have two leather pouches on the back of their belt, are rather hefty men, and may or may not be wearing their leather hood.

Getting to Jerusalem
Once in Kingdom, locate the Jerusalem marker in the southeast of the map. Ride there and activate any View Points that you may pass along the way.
Talal - Investigation
Jerusalem - Rich District
Per usual, there is an Innocent to Save. To locate him, head to the gates of Jerusalem and then go to the left into the grave yard. This will reveal the Scholars. Blend with them to enter the city.
Once you get into the city, locate the marked View Point, the bell tower of the church, and climb it. Activate it to reveal the Bureau and the 8 other View Points. Again, I recommend you activate all of the View Points and then do your investigations.
One thing to note is that the southeast View Point, the Dome of the Rock (gold dome),
learn more, is difficult to get to. You must get past the guards at any of the entrances. Your best bet is to use the low roof to the left of one of the entrances. I recommend climbing the wall to the left of the four guards at the north entrance (above the bench). Once you are past them you'll have to quickly climb the side of the structure (the building surrounding the golden dome), using the rain spouts near the top to get up. Once you are near the dome itself, climb onto the lip of the dome and you'll be able to Synchronize there.
Also note that one of the View Point markers may be obscured by a Save the Innocent marker on your Map. If this happens to you, you can locate the View Point by heading about a block directly right (east) of the North Central Informer marker.

Lock on to the man in the brown/yellow striped robes talking to the man in blue. After the conversation, pick pocket him. There is a "View Attachment" with this memory, so you may want to look at it.
Informer - North Central - Talal is located in the North sector of the city.
Talk to the glowing assassin. He asks that you Stealth Kill two targets. Each are marked with an X on the Map and GPS. Both targets are inside the souk, or market. Try not to kill them in front of a soldier. After you kill them, return to the informer.
Eavesdropping - Northwest - In a fight, Talal will try to shoot his enemies with a bow.
To get into this church you'll need to kill the two guards at the door. After you kill them and the other guards who come in to help, sit down amidst the chaos on a pew and listen in to the two men at the front of the church.
Interrogation - East - Talal holds slaves within a warehouse.
Lock on to the man preaching about "Who knows what the future holds?" Wait for him to finish talking and when he starts walking, follow him. When he turns left into the alley go ahead and beat him up.
Informer - Central - Talal's followers will sacrifice themselves giving Talal time to escape.
Find and collect 18 Masyaf flags. They are marked on the GPS for you. I recommend grabbing the first one on the nearby wall and then going up the ladder on the building to the left. Once on top of the building, use the GPS to find the flags. They'll lead you around in a circuit so that you end up back at the informer.
Be sure to note if there is an up or down triangle on the flag icon on the GPS which indicates if the flag is below you or above you.
Pickpocket - Southeast - Map detailing the souk where Talal will hide if he escapes.
This area (Temple Mount) is difficult to get into because of the guards at each location. Go to the north entrance and face the four guards blocking the staircase. To the left is a bench and a wall above the bench. Climb that wall to sneak by the guards and enter.
Once inside, lock on to the man in the brown/yellow striped robes (talking to the other man). Wait for them to finish talking and then pick pocket the man. There is a "View Attachment" with this memory, so you may want to look at it.
Talal - Assassination
Visit the bureau to get the assassination marker on you map.
Note - Saving all of the Citizens in this level will make it so that Talal will be stopped Vigilantes. With him being held, it is easier to assassinate him, however, I didn't have any trouble chasing him down. Do what you please.
Head to the south of the marker and locate the back alley with a ladder. Climb the ladder and then climb the wall to the right. Hide behind the small dome and use a Throwing Knife to take out the archer in front of you, on the edge of the roof.
Go forward and out onto the wooden platform where the archer was just standing. Look down to see the four guards at the main entrance to the warehouse area. Above them is a bar that you can jump to. Do so and you'll hang from that bar. Drop down and immediately "Blend". This will make it so that you drop down behind them and gain entrance to the area unseen.
Keep blending as you walk forward. You'll see the warehouse itself nearby. Each entrance is being guarded except for the back (east) entrance (the Pick Pocket map "View Attachment" that shows guard positions is helpful here). Make your way around back of the warehouse (don't get into any fights) where you'll find an open and unguarded door. Enter it and it'll close behind you. You ancestor's memory will be synced.
Listen to Talal and move through the gate when it opens. In the large open room, step into the light on the floor.
Battle time! Use counter attacks to easily dispose of the seven enemies who attack.
When they're dead, go up the ladder and begin chasing after Talal (ignore the archer in your way). Make sure that your Hidden Blade is equipped. When you get outside you'll get a brief cutscene showing Talal. Also note that he is marked on your GPS. Begin chasing him (sprint) and when you're close to him,
Lock on to him, and then hit the "Assassinate" button. You'll leap through the air and will kill him.
Run away and hide to lower the alert level (as you've done so many times before). When you exit the warehouse area (past the guards) you'll be hunted again. When you are Anonymous again, return to the Bureau.
Laboratory
Go into your room and check the closet to gain an Access Code. Go up to the Animus and pick up the Access-Key next to the screen. Interact with it again to access Lucy's Email. Read the Inbox Emails from bottom to top (oldest to newest) to get some back story.
Head back to your room and lie down.
