You can view and change your control scheme by going to your in-game pause menu, choosing, "Controls," and choosing, "Customize Buttons". You can also choose if you want "Auto-Lock" enabled. I recommend no, but it's up to you. Also, in the pause menu you can adjust your Vertical and Horizontal controls by going into "Camera".
You can also view your "Moves List" from your pause menu. The Moves List shows you every move you've learned in the game so far and can be rather helpful if you seem to be having trouble beating enemies.
A huge part of this game is managing your Health, Rage, and Ammo. You refill all of these by feeding on enemies. If you simply jump onto an enemy you'll regenerate your Health automatically. If you go for a Feeding Fatality (the most basic one is to hit your "Blade" button while feeding) you'll get a Rage Bonus and you'll see your blue Rage Meter fill up. If you want to refill your Ammo, then, while feeding, hit your "Fire Weapon" button and you'll see Rayne bury her guns into the enemy, thus refilling them.
You can feed on almost all enemies in this game, except for those who are considered "bosses and/or mini-bosses" who have their own health meter. Otherwise, everybody is fair game. You can instantly feed on any enemies who are either not carrying any weapon or are carrying only a gun. If an enemy has a melee weapon (crow bar, pipe, bat, piece of wood, etc.) then you'll have to disarm them first by either kicking the object out of their hands or Harpoon tossing them, before you can feed. The exception to this is if you get them from behind.
Speaking of feeding from behind, later in the game you'll have to fight many Super Minions (girl enemies with big electric swords who are almost impossible to Harpoon and/or feed on). In their case, use your SUPER SPEED to get behind them, then feed on them.
There are two basic types of enemies in this game: normal enemies, and enemies with their own health meters. For the normal enemies, the quickest way to kill them is to feed on them, then do a feeding fatality. You can also quickly dispose of enemies by Harpooning them onto impaling objects or off ledges. Remember to Lock-On to enemies that are giving you trouble and do lots of dodging/blocking to minimize damage to you. I used my Blades almost exclusively, although every now and again, I'd throw in a kick for good measure.
When it comes to enemies with their own health meters (bosses/mini-bosses), with only one exception, the Final Boss, your best is to use BLOOD FURY (Double Tap "Blood Rage" arrow) and keep on the offensive with them, especially trying to back somebody into a corner.
You will earn various upgrades to your base special powers as you work your way throughout the game. When I tell you to use a Special Power I put it in ALL CAPS for you to easily see. Your Special Powers are fueled by your Rage Meter. Using them depletes your Rage Meter with the exception of AURA VISION, which doesn't drain any power. Other than AURA VISION, which you should use often to keep you on track, you'll be using a lot of BLOOD FURY, SUPER SPEED, and FREEZE TIME. I didn't find the other powers to be that useful, but feel free to use them if you want.

A big part of this game is Harpooning and tossing enemies into various objects to help you proceed. This simply takes practice. The best advice I can give you is as soon as you see your Harpoon has stuck in somebody, move your control stick in the direction that you want the Harpooned enemy to fly. Don't be wishy-washy with the control stick, be firm and tell it exactly where you want the body to go. Hold that position on the control stick until you see the body fly in that direction. Sometimes you'll just be too spazzy and the body will fly in a random direction. Try to get proficient at tossing bodies where you want them to go.
Also, be on the lookout in each and every room you enter for places to impale bodies, electric lights/consoles, or fire/explosives. Tossing bodies into these will cause one-hit-kills and will raise your Carnage Bonus.
Your Carnage Points are represented by the Double Sword (black dot) meter that works its way from left to right along your Health and Rage meters. Carnage experience is earned by using the environment to eliminate enemies. For example, you earn extra carnage points for impaling victims on things, setting them ablaze by igniting barrels/tanks near them or with them, and throwing enemies into objects to solve "killing puzzles." Carnage experience is basically a means to encourage players to kill creatively. Max out your carnage meter and that earns you capacity upgrades for Rayne's health and rage meters.
