"Call of Juarez" Game Guide and Walkthrough
Episode III
Okay, enough of that fist fighting stuff, let's get into some gun fightin'. You'll start in the church. Enter the left side closet to find two pistols and some ammo. Exit the church and watch the cutscene. When it's done, you'll be tasked with killing all of the gun-toting guys in town (um...isn't that everybody?).This is the first time you have two weapons, one in each hand. Here's what you need to know:

Head forward into town to get your first opporunity with Concentration Mode. Use it to take out (or at least wound) the four enemies in front of you. After you come out of this mode, finish off the enemies and then note the Sherrif's wife who is being held captive on the second floor of the building to your left. You'll have to rescure her, but first you have to get to her.
Go behind the building she is in (to the left of you) using any of the alleys between the buildings. Once behind the buildings, turn left and go back to the first building. On it, you'll see a broken staircase, a man shooting down at you from that staircase, and an outhouse. You'll want to use the outhouse to get onto the stairs, but first, take out the enemy shooting down at you.
After you've taken him out, go up to the outhouse. Move the crate to the right of it up against the crates near the outhouse. Use the crates to get up onto the top of the outhouse and then cross the planks to the stairs. Go up the stairs and enter the building. Grab the enemy's gun if you want (I recommend it as it has a faster reload time). Then, kick open the door in front of you. Go through the bedroom and exit out the door onto the balcony.
Shoot the enemy to your left, on the other side of the luggage and then shoot the enemies below (take cover back inside the bedroom if you are getting hurt). Once it's clear, hop over the luggage and then the railing, crossing the planks to the next building's balcony.
Continue forward and you'll soon get to the open window leading to sheriff's wife. You'll be reminded about Concentration Mode for good reason. Before you go through the window, holster your weapons. Then, go through, locate the two enemies and the sheriff's wife. Enact Concentration Mode and shoot each of the enemies.
After they're dead, go up and talk to the sheriff's wife. She gives you a key and tells you to head to the jail. Before heading out, I recommending grabbing one of the enemy's guns.
Exit out the window and drop down to the ground. Fight your way forward and enter the jail at the end of the road, shooting anybody who gets in your way. Once inside the jail kill everyone. It will soon catch on fire so you best go upstairs. While it looks like you're trapped, you are not. Go to the back of the room and look up. You'll see a ladder and an opening in the roof. Move the nearby crate under the ladder, hop up on it, and then climb up the ladder onto the roof.

Once on the roof, locate the planks leading to a hole in the roof of an adjacent barn. Cross the planks and drop down into the barn. Now inside the barn, drop down to the ground. Locate the wooden ramp and notice that as you walk up it, it'll tilt up, thus making a path for you. However, it won't stay tilted up if you go back down it so you'll need a weight on one end to keep it raised. To do this, grab a large crate and carry it to the top of the ramp. Place it down. The ramp will tilt up. Run back along the now-raised ramp and jump forward before the ramp dips back down. You'll end up on a sturdy platform. Locate the ladder and climb up. At the top, work your way along the platforms to the top of the barn where you can exit.
Well, you can't exactly exit. You'll need to use the water tower in front of you. To lower the boom (spigot), shoot the counter-weight hanging down next to the boom. The boom will lower and you can hop onto it. Do so and go onto the roof of the next building. Drop through the hole in the roof.
After the load, you'll be in a bedroom. Open the chest for some ammo and a new pistol. Exit the room, kill the enemy across from you on the balcony and then head down the stairs. In front of you will be a covered wagon. Shoot the enemy(s) inside. Then, head to the wagon and move the barrel and planks to get by the left of it.
Go onto the porch of this house and enter it via either window. Explore the house, shoot the enemies, and be sure to open the drawers in the office for a nice new pistol (there is also ammo on a bookshelf in the same room). When you're done in the house, exit out the window on the right side, placing you in an alley.

Head out onto the main road and take out the remaining enemies until you get a cutscene. You'll now have to deal with a slew of enemies at the Saloon. They'll be on the roof and balcony, firing down at you, and throwing fire bombs at you. Conveniently for you, there is a nice stone wall for you to take cover behind. On your way to it, be sure to grab the Shotgun laying against one side of it (look at it and hit Up on the D-Pad when prompted to grab it).
From the cover of the stone wall (crouch behind it), shoot the enemies on the Saloon with your pistols (remember to zoom in if you need to). Before long (after about 6 enemies) a wagon will go rolling by and you'll be attacked from behind. Clear out the remaining enemies in town and then go back to the Saloon where there is now a wagon. Shoot the barrels in the wagon to create an explosion thus setting the Saloon on fire.
Here's where you'll want to equip you Shotgun. Cycle to it by pressing Up on the D-Pad. Then, stand outside the main doors of the Saloon and wait for the enemies inside to come out, escaping the fire. Shoot them at close range with the Shotgun.
The last thing you'll have to do for this mission is to Duel with Forrester.
| Dueling is pretty easy. When the countdown ends, flick down on the Right Control Stick to draw your weapon. At this point, the reticle will wander around randomly and you need to try to control it with the Right Control Stick. The goal is to pump the enemy full of lead anytime the reticle goes over him...it'll turn red to indicate you can shoot him. Also note that you can use the Left Control Stick to dodge left and right. |
After you defeat Forrester, the level will end.
