Introduction
Welcome to Lunabean's
Halo 3 Walkthrough and Strategy Guide. It will expertly guide you through the Campaign portion of the game. It contains tried and true strategies and a step-by-step walkthrough.
It also includes the locations of all 13 Skulls and all 7 Forerunner Terminals.
It even explains and gives tips for Multiplayer, the Forge, and the Theater.
The walkthrough is based on "Heroic" difficulty level. The only difference between difficulty levels is the enemy AI, enemy placement and enemy armament, how quickly your shield will go down, and how easy or hard it is to kill your enemies. The campaign itself does not change.
If you are an experienced gamer then "Heroic" is a satisfying and challenging difficulty level. If you are new to the series, you may want to try "Easy" or "Normal".
Controls
If you would like to view or adjust your controls go to: Start Button >> Settings >> Game Controls. From here you can adjust things like the Y-Axis, look sensitivity, and whether or not to have your crouch be "toggle".
If you go to "Button Layout" and "Stick Layout" you can view and adjust the buttons and stick controls of your controller.
Personally, I always have to invert my Y-Axis, I kept look sensitivity at "3", and I switched my crouching to "toggle" mode.
Do whatever feels right to you and feel free to experiment.
That being said, the buttons and actions referred to in this walkthrough are based on the default controller layout.
Heads Up Display (HUD)
Weapons - Your currently equipped weapon and the ammo/charges remaining in it are in the upper right of the screen. You secondary weapon is below that, and is a smaller icon. When your ammo/charge is running low the ammo will flash red as a visual indicator.
Shield (health) - Your shield is the blue bar at the top of the screen. As you take damage it'll go down. When it is flashing red it is at a critical level and if you take more damage you'll die. You shield regenerates, so just take cover and wait for it to recover.
Grenades - You have three different types of grenades in the game (Frag, Plasma, and Spike). If you have one, you'll see it in the upper left of the screen. To switch between grenades tap "LB".
Equipment - New to
Halo 3 is battlefield equipment. Three of the most popular are the Bubble Shield, Trip Mine, and Grav Lift. If you have equipment it'll appear as an icon below your grenades. To switch between equipment, hold "RB". To activate equipment hit "B".
Radar - Your radar is in the lower left of the screen. Friendlies are yellow. Enemies are red. Waypoints (where you need to go) are white. The radar picks up motion, so, if an enemy is not moving or moving slowly he won't appear on the radar. The same goes for you, however, so keep that in mind when trying to sneak up on enemies.
Waypoint - The waypoint tells you where you need to go. It will appear in the center of the screen as a blue arrow icon, sometimes with the distance to it.
