Holiday Break

Rush to Dumbledore's Office

Highlight "Albus Dumbledore" on the map and follow the footprints to the old wizard (just make your way down to the Entrance Hall).

At this point you'll be tossed into an Occulemency lesson with Snape. Follow the onscreen instructions specific to your console to defeat Snape. The goal is to pull Snape's wand in the opposite direction from which he has it pointed. Each time you are successful you will erase Snape from a memory. Repeat until the lesson comes to an end.

Wii gamers, look at the direction of Snape's wand, then move your Wii-mote in the opposite direction and shake it, as though you're trying to pull Snape's wand over to you. I found that shaking the Wii-mote side to side when Snape's wand is right or left works best, whereas shaking it up and down when Snape's wand is high or low works best. Other gamers, use the control stick that guides your wand and repeatedly move it in the direction opposite Snape's, until Snapes wand hits the center.

OOTP HQ

Next you'll find yourself at the Order of the Phoenix HQ for the holidays. Move up the stairs and through the closed door to your left, where you'll find Ginny. Ginny tells you that you must find items hidden by Kreacher. Begin at the bookcase, where you'll find "Order of Merlin, First Class". Move left and move the small cabinet between the windows to reveal something that makes Harry sleepy. Locate the book on the cabinet at the opposite end, "Nature's Nobility: A Wizard's Geneology". Finally, remove the painting with "Accio" to reveal a locket. Easy enough. Exit out and enter the hallway.

Stand at the base of the stairs and move through the door to your left, where you'll find Sirius. Speak to Sirius and he'll leave to find Kreacher. Exit out and follow Sirius up the stairs.

Run up to the second landing and move through the open door to speak with Ron and Hermione. When that's complete, head up the next flight to the door on the left, where you'll hear Buckbeak. Return all of the way downstairs, where you began the level.

Speak to Mr. Weasley at the window, who tells you to find Sirius again in the Tapestry Room (where you found him the first time). Return and you'll hear (and see) Kreacher. Enter the room and speak to Sirius again. You'll be returned to Hogwarts.

Upsetting Umbridge

Severus Snape

Before the fun begins, you must take another Occulemency class with Snape. So, mark the old crank on your task list and make your way there. Take the second Occulemency lesson (same instructions as the first), and get ready for some fun.

Expecto Patronum

Make your way up to the Room of Requirement. Inside you'll be asked to teach the group "Expecto Petronum". Follow the onscreen instructions to do so (Wii gamers, point your Wii at the screen and move it around in any direction). Once the spell has been successfully cast, you'll find yourself in the middle of a battle with Malfoy and his gang of dunces. Cast your favorite combat spells (check your Spell List if you need a refresher). Be sure to add a few "Protego"s in there for protection. After a bit Umbridge will show up and a cutscene will ensue.

Mark "Hagrid's Hut" on the map and make your way there. Upon reaching the Hut you'll come to another battle with Malfoy and the gang. Again, use your favorite spells (I'm big on "Stupefy" and "Expelliarmus") and fight until you reach another cutscene.

Note, if you're looking to complete the objective of casting all defensive skills in one battle, this battle provides a nice opportunity.

Once you've defeated the gang, check your task list.

Colin Creevey: Howlers in the Owlery

Select "Colin Creevey" on the map and head up to the Owlery. You'll find Colin just outside of it. Colin needs your help getting Fred and George's Howlers into the Owlery. No problem.

Use "Incendio" on the tree that's attached to the Owlery. Your friends will join in. Climb the pole to the top and sidle left. Climb down the next pole, then sidle left again. Climb through the window. At this point Colin will send one of Fred and George's Howlers up to you. Use "Wingardium Leviosa" to place it in either of the two owl slots that are marked with a red "X". Repeat with the second Howler.

Run upstairs to find the 3rd and 4th Howlers, and place them in their slots. Finally, run up the stairs and place the 5th Howler in its designated slot.

At this point you'll be warned that Filtch is coming. Run upstairs and move through the open window (it looks like an open wooden door). Repair the stone ledge and move through the window. Work your way down and around the pipes and ledges until you reach the gang at the bottom.

Luna Lovegood: Swamping the Courtyards

Head to the Clocktower Courtyard where you'll find Luna Lovegood. She'll tell you to climb to the roof to get Fred and George's Swamp Box. To do so, use "Wingardium Leviosa" on one of the benches and place the bench on the red "X" near the fruit basket. Climb it, then climb the pillar to reach the roof. Use "Reparo" on the roof, then move over to the turret. Highlight the section with the red "X" and use "Reducto" to break it open. Move the revealed Swamp Box down to the courtyard (with "Wingarium Leviosa") then climb down to meet it.

The Swamp Box will be automatically placed on the red "X" near the central structure. If not, move it. Once in place, cast "Reducto" on it. Welcome to your swampified courtyard.

Dean Thomas: Sabotage the Clock Tower

Select "Dean Thomas" and use the sidewalks around the courtyard to make it back into the building, then head up the stairs to Dean. Speak to him and he'll give you instructions on how to mess up the clock. The first thing you must do is move the gears from the pegs on the right side to the pegs on the left side. Do this with "Wingardium Leviosa". Note, the gears are all different sizes and they do go in a specific order (from bottom to top, medium, small, large). If you place a cog incorrectly you will be told to remove it. When placed correctly Dean will say, "Cool".

Once all gears are placed, move upstairs to find the next three. Use "Wingardium Leviosa" to move them down to Dean, then run down and meet them. Place the three cogs on the far right extension, with the two smaller ones surrounding the large one. This will successfully complete the task.

The Patil Twins: Silencing Umbridge

Select either "Padma" or "Parvati Patil" from the list of tasks and make your way to the ladies, who are waiting in the 5th floor corridor. They will explain their plan involving the pouring of potion on various pink loudspeakers around campus. You, of course, are the one expected to perform this task.

To pull this off, you're going to need to stack a couple of benches beneath the loudspeaker. In the 5th floor corridor, the first bench is in place. Use "Wingardium Leviosa" to move the second bench (between the Knights) on top of the first. Climb the stack, then hit "Action" to pour the potion.

Below is a list of where the loudspeakers can be found around the school. Be sure to visit them in this order or the twins will not be there to provide you with the potion.

1. Next to Padma and Parvati in the 5th floor corridor.
2. At the entrance to the 3rd floor Corridor (if arriving from the Grand Staircase).
3. Next to the Library.
4. In the Viaduct Entrance.
5. In the Entrance Courtyard.
6. In the 1st Floor Corridor, in the room before the Stone Bridge.

Ginny Weasley

Highlight the Weasley girl and make your way to the Transfiguraion Courtyard, where you will find her. Ginny has placed a Swamp Box in the tree. Use "Wingardium Leviosa" to pull it down. At this point the Malfoy gang will appear. Per usual, cast your favorite spells to keep them away.

Note, this was the first battle that I actually had a bit of trouble with, as it's the first tough battle, and, on my first time through the game I wasn't collecting many DPs so my magic was weak. Per usual, I suggest going heavy on the "Protego", to protect yourself from the thugs. Also, I believe "Stupefy" is a great spell to cast. Even if it doesn't do much damage, it does stun the enemy, allowing you or an ally to hit him. I'm also a fan of "Expelliarmus".

While fighting, keep in mind that your friends are there to help you. If you feel overwhelmed, step away from the battle, perhaps behind an obstacle of sorts, and take a breather. Also, be sure to move around to avoid the casts of others.

If you fall from battle (and don't get back up), you'll be sent to the Hospital Wing. Return to the Courtyard and move the package to try again.

Once you've defeated Malfoy and friends, use "Wingardium Leviosa" to move the Swamp Box to the red "X", then use "Incendio" or "Reducto" on it to change the Transfiguration Courtyard into a swamp.

Swamp Box #3

At this point there should nothing left on your "Task" list, but there's one Swamp Box left to unleash. Select "Paved Courtyard" on your map and make your way there. Upon reaching it you'll be shown where the Swamp Box is. To reach it, use "Reparo" on the back stairs, then on the hole in the ground, then on the pipe in the corner. Climb the pipe, sidle left, cross over the next pipe, continue to sidle left, then climb the pipe to the roof. Once there, run all of the way left. Use "Wingardium Leviosa" to drop the package into the courtyard, then climb down to meet it.

Use "Incendio" on the package and watch how your swamp grows.

Return to Snape

The time has come for your third Occulemency lesson. Mark "Potions" on your map and head down into the Dungeon to locate Snape. Once there, defeat him at Occulemency one last time.

Fred and George: Finest Hour

Mark Fred and George on the map and head up to 5th Floor Corridor. Speak to either one and, for a moment, you'll be switched to Fred (or is it George?). Use "Incendio" on the Swamp Box.

After a quick cutscene you'll find yourself on a broom, still as a Weasley twin. The game will guide you as you fly, although you do have a bit of control with your control stick. Take it as you highlight the boxes with your wand and cast "Incendio" for Grand Staircase fireworks display, followed by one in the Great Hall. Once this is complete, you'll get another fine cutscene.
