Welcome to Lunabean's Kameo: Elements of Power Walkthrough and Strategy Guide for the Xbox 360 (X360). This guide is all you need to make your way through the entire single player "Solo Quest" portion of the game, as basic questions are answered in the introduction, and a detailed walkthrough is provided for each of the levels. The guide will also indirectly help with the Co-op game, as Co-op levels are identical to solo levels and are unlocked upon completion of the solo levels. However, this is a Solo Quest guide, so no specific Co-op techniques are provided (but shouldn't be necessary).
In Kameo you will play the majority of the game in the form of the Elemental Warriors. Since this is the case, you will have to always keep an eye on the bottom of your screen to find out what combination of the L and R triggers perform what move. For details beyond what's at the bottom of the screen, enter the Wotnot Book (press "Start"), use the R-trigger to turn to the Elemental Warrior page, select an elemental warrior ("A"), select a technique ("A"), then select "Info". Please note, to upgrade to obtain a new technique (requiring new controls), follow the same instructions, but select "Upgrade" instead of "Info". With all of that being said, there are basic controls that can be used no matter what form you are in:

As mentioned in "Controls", you can buy new Elemental Warrior techniques from the Wotnot Book by using Elemental Fruits as currency. Each Elemental Warrior has his own fighting techniques and special abilities. Below you will find a list of the basic skills each Elemental Warrior possesses.
Pummel Weed - The carnivorous plant who can slip underneath various objects/obstacles and "uproot" what's in his way.
Ash - A dragon who uses fire to melt ice and set fire to enemies.
Chilla - An abominable snowman who throws icicle projectiles at enemies and objects.
Rubble - A ball of stones who can lead other stones to form bridges and/or ramps. A great fighter when upgraded.
Major Ruin - A porcupine ball who is necessary to jump ramps.

While the important aspects of the Wotnot Book have already been covered above, I thought the book was worthy of its own category, so, here you go.
As mentioned before, press "Start" to pull up the Wotnot book (this is after Mystic gives you the book, of course). On the cover of the book is Orthos. Depending on your game settings (go into "Options" from the "Back" menu), he may or may not provide you with clues in getting through tough areas of the game. Flip to the next page with "RT". Here you will find the Elemental Warrior you have at your disposal. Put your cursor over one and hit "A" to select it. You'll be taken to a page of techniques and, if you've located them, new skins for the selected Warrior. Select a technique, then read about it ("Info") or use collected Elemental Fruits to buy the technique ("Upgrade"). Back out of the Elemental Warrior selection with "B".
Flip the page again and you'll find two more pages. The page to the left provides you with "Objective", "Scores", "Options" and "Bonus" options. "Objective" tells you the basic objective at hand. "Scores" tells you how well you fared point and ranking wise on the game's levels. "Options" is the same Options Menu you get to by pressing "Back". "Bonus" will provide you with access to Kameo's skins and the unlocked cheats when you score enough points in the levels.
The page on the right shows you what Crystal Eyes you've collected, how many Elixirs you've collected, how many Elemental Fruits you've collected, and info on the saved family members.
The Chamber of Living Portraits is located in the Enchanted Kingdom, within the walls of the castle (move up the path to the right of the dungeon entrance). Approach the Magic Mirror at the far end of the Chamber to replay any level in the game (minus the boss fight at the end). This allows you to score higher points and get a higher ranking, which, ultimately, unlocks bonuses. You can see the unlockable bonuses and the score needed to obtain them by simply selecting the level. Once you've unlocked the bonuses, Kameos skins and cheats will be made available in the Wotnot Book, everything else will be made available in the same Magic Mirror.

Obtaining high scores and earning high ranks is very difficult, and does increase the playability of this relatively short game. The walkthrough does not specifically address how you should go about getting these high scores, as the point is to get people through the game, not teach people how to perfect the game. However, I will tell you provide you with these general tips. First, don't get hit, catch fire, become frozen, get poisoned, fall from a ledge, or die. When you're replaying levels, you can't die, period. If you do, you must start the level over. If you're damaged in any other way, you will lose the ever so important multipliers. If you catch fire, switch to Major Ruin or Rubble so your multipliers aren't completely wiped out.
To score points you have to kill enemies. To kill the maximum number of enemies, you have to remain in areas until the enemies stop coming your way, and you have to look for some not so obvious enemies to take down. For example, in your very first "battle" of the game, where you fight the two Trolls then hop through the hole at the top of the ramp, don't go through that hole immediately. Instead, wait for more Trolls to emerge, and use Chilla's icicle attack to hit the low flying dragons (and dragons give you many points).
Gaining multipliers will increase the number of points you earn with each kill. As mentioned above, being damaged in any way will take away a multiplier. There are three different kinds of kills: Carnage, Brutal and Frenzy. Carnage is the basic kill, earned when you take out any enemy incrementally. Imagine punching a Troll as Pummel Weed. Since his health meter falls slowly, this will be a Carnage kill. A Brutal kills are kills that happen in one move. For example, if you punch a Troll and he falls on spikes or off a high ledge, this is a Brutal kill. Finally there are Frenzy kills. Frenzy kills are kills that happen to many enemies within a short time frame. Rubble's upgraded "Gravel Blast", when used when you're surrounding by many enemies, can produce a Frenzy kill.
Scoring is also helped by taking advantage of the Focus Mode and Doom Trolls.
Note the Focus bar beneath the points at the top of your screen. Certain hits, like Pummel Weed's basic "Punch", will affect the bar. Hit rapidly and the bar will fill up. Fill the bar up twice (through the light blue bar) and you'll move into "Focus Mode" or slow motion. If you have high multipliers, you'll generate "Doom Trolls", or bonus Trolls to kill. Be careful of the Doom Trolls, as they don't move in slow motion, but, again, they're worth extra points, which are important when you're going for high points.
Your health bar is the red bar on the top of your screen. If it runs out, you die. If you're low on health, look for crates or other breakables, as they'll often hide health hearts. Extend the health bar with each Elixir of Life found. There are 12 total.
The Spirit Bar is best described as an Elemental Warrior magic bar. Some moves of the Elemental Warriors require something extra. These moves will drain the Spirit Bar. When the Spirit Bar empties, whatever move you're in the middle of will cease. The Spirit Bar will refill on its own with a bit of time. You can extend each Warrior's Spirit Bar by buying the upgrade for a single Elemental Fruit.
The game saves automatically when cutscenes occurs, tasks are accomplished, and items are collected (look to the bottom of the screen for confirmation). The game will also save when you purchase an upgrade or when you assign a Crystal Eye. This is an easy way to force the game to "automatically" save for you.
