KOTOR II Strategy Guide FAQs
Here is a quick selection of the most commonly asked KOTOR II questions on our message boards. If you have a question which is not addressed here, nor in our KOTOR II Guide, please check the KOTOR II Help Thread on our boards and ask there. This is where you will also find the most recent questions and answers regarding the game. Also, please note that I've tried to place these questions chronologically, but they do include some spoilers. Finally, thanks to everyone on the message boards who answered these (and so many more) questions.
General
Q. Is there a particular order in which I should travel to the planets?
A. You can mix it up to a certain extent, but, we believe our route is the best: Peragus -> Telos -> Dantooine -> Nar Shaddaa -> Onderon and Dxun -> Korriban -> Return to Onderon -> Everywhere else.
Q. Where do I get X item?
A. If the item is plot dependant, it is mentioned in the guide. Otherwise, we can't tell you where you find specific items, as the game changes item locations between saves. Even precious crystals are found in different locations in different games.
Q. How do I earn the Prestige Class upgrade?
A. You must be at a Level 15 and be at least 75% aligned to the Light or Dark side. When this is done, speak with Kreia.
Peragus
Q. I'm still stuck on Peragus, when T3 gets to the computer that lowers something down, he logs off, and gets fried. After this, the screen goes black.
A. I have found that this happens because the droid deflector Mark 1 was active. I waited for it's effect to dissipate, and the game continues on as it should. (Thanks Om Prakash N.)
Q. I'm in transit from Peragus to Telos, but nothing is happening. Help.
A. You aren't in transit. You have to go to you Galaxy Map to travel to Telos.
Telos
Q. On Telos I was sent to meet with two bounty hunters by Luxa. However, when I get to them, I'm told to come alone, despite the fact that I'm in Solo Mode. What do I do?
A. Go into your Party menu and de-select your party members within your Party Menu (Solo mode won't do it). (Thanks
captcarrot)
Q. How do I solve the Telos Fuel Source problem?
A. Be patient. This will be resolved later in the game...much later.
Q. I just got my Crafting my Lightsaber Journal entry. Am I missing parts? I want it now!
A. Your Lightsaber will come...but you still have some work to do before getting it. Don't worry, you didn't miss anything. If you're following the LB guide, you will receive it at the end of your time on Dantooine, along with someone else's.
Q. Your guide tells me the Handmaiden boards the Ebon Hawk before leaving Telos. She won't. What's up with that?
A. Your main character is a female. If you select a female character, you will receive the Disciple on Dantooine, instead.
Dantooine
Q. Your guide tells me the Disciple will join my party, but he won't. Help!
A. Your main character is a male. If you select a male character, you will receive the Handmaiden instead of the Disciple.
Nar Shaddaa
Q. How do I solve the door code in the Hutt Warehouse, as T3?
A. This is a perfect example of a question that is addressed
in the guide.
Q. In the guide you fight the crew of the Red Eclipse, exit the ship and receive a call on the commlink. I am not getting this call! Help!
A. This is a perfect example of how
you need to play an active role in using
our KOTOR II guide. As noted in the guide, we received this call, then completed everything else, before returning to the Ebon Hawk and dealing with the crew. This is why we received the commlink message upon leaving the ship, because everything had been completed up to that point. If you went to the ship as soon as you were called, you still have tasks to complete. Check your Journal and
our guide to figure out what those things are. Also, it's important to note that to receive the commlink call, you need to "attract the attention of the Exchange". This means stirring up trouble. You can stir up trouble without getting Dark Side points. Our guide shows you how. Finally, this tends to be a problem with people who go to Nar Shaddaa before Dantooine. If you're really stuck, travel to Dantooine, then return to Nar Shaddaa later.
Q. In the guide you say Mira is your new party member. However, I receive Hanharr. What's up?
A. If you are playing as a Light Sider, you will receive Mira. If you are playing as a Dark Sider, you will receive Hanharr.
Q. Where do I find the Blank ID card for the Ebon Hawk?
A. Again, be patient. Your T3 Unit will eventually find it in the Hutt Warehouse.
Q. Where is Goto?
A. Goto is on his yacht. You will get to him by dealing with your Nar Shaddaa tasks as they come. You can't miss him.
Q. In the guide you leave Nar Shaddaa without ever going into the Pazaak Den. How do I get in there?
A. You need to have the skills to Force Persuade the guard outside of the den. You can return later when your skills are higher, if you decide to do so.
Q. In the guide you never fixed the Air Speeder. How do I?
A. Repairing the Air Speeder only allows you to travel around Nar Shaddaa and gain influence with Atton. Also, once you meet with Visquis, you can no longer use it. Meaning it's more trouble than it's worth. Simply search for the parts and fix it before you meet with Visquis if you really want it. Also, use Bao-Dur to ensure the thing will be fixed.
Korriban
Q. I have blown through the door in the Sith Academy and I have destroyed the Sith Holocron. What did I do wrong?
A. This is determined by a question you answered some time ago, dealing with Revan. If you told Atton you believed Revan acted to save the Republic, then the Holocron will work for you. If you told Atton you believed Revan acted to unite the Sith, the Holocron will be damaged. Bastila is the one who speaks through the Holocron, revealing clues as to why Revan left, how the Jedi fought amongst themselves because of it, and how those who have tried to control the Star Forge have been to weak, and, therefore, were devoured by it.
Q. I'm in the cave and I'm fighting "ghosts". However, my FP and VP won't regenerate. Is this a glitch?
A. This is not a glitch. It's a rotten part of the game.
