Welcome to Lunabean's Mario Strikers Charged Walkthrough and Strategy Guide. It details all of the game's elements and provides winning strategies which will help you in both competitive play and on the road to the Striker Cup.

Controls
Movement
Control Stick - Move.
+ Button - Deke (fake out).
Offense
A Button - Pass the ball. A then B for a One-Timer.
B Button - Shoot the ball. Hold for a charged shot, hold longer for a MegaStrike/Skillshot (depending on if it's your Captain or a Sidekick).
Z Button - Chip the ball. Hold Z + A for a Lob Pass. Hold Z + B for a Lob Shot.
Defense
A Button - Switch players (will default to player closest to ball).
B Button - Clear the ball.
Wii Remote - Shake it to perform a Hit (knocks opponent down).

Goalie
A Button - Pass the ball.
B Button - Clear the ball.
Mega Saves - If opponent performs a MegaStrike you have to point the Wii Remote at incoming balls and hit A to block them.
Special Moves
Hold B - MegaStrike. Can only be performed with your Captain. Hold down B until you see a meter. Hit B while the meter is moving to determine number of balls and speed of balls.
C Button - Use Item/Super Ability (Items are normal items, SuperAbilities are specific to your Captain).
Nunchuk - Flick your Nunchuk to toggle between Items. Also, during an opponents MegaStrike, when you see the meter, shake your Nunchuk to disrupt the meter to make it harder for him/her to perform a quality MegaStrike.
Game Elements
Power Up Items
Power ups appear next to your character's face at the upper part of the screen. You can have two at any time and you can toggle between them by flicking the Nunchuk.
To obtain Items, you must either perform a charged shot (one that is glowing blue, but does not end up in a MegaStrike/Skillshot) or have one of your players
without the ball be hit by an opponent. This built in to discourage you and your opponent from running around and hitting all of the other team's players any time you want.
To use an Item, simply hit the C Button. Do note, however, that Special Ability Items (see below) require you to hold down the C Button.
List of Items
Green Shell - Sends out green shells which can knock opponents down.
Red Shell - Same as green shells, but they home in on your opponents.
Blue Shell - Shells that freeze your opponents.
Spiked Shell - Spiked shells bounce off of walls and opponents (ie, they don't go away after hitting an opponent).
Banana Peel - Makes opponents slip and fall. D'oh!
Bob-omb - Drops bombs on your opponents.
Chain Chomp - Immobilizes any player that it hits, whether friend or foe.
Mushroom - Makes you fast for a limited amount of time.
Star - Makes you invincible.
Special Abilities
Special Abilities are Power Up Items that are specific to your Captain. You get them randomly when performing a charged shot and you don't have to be the Captain to get one. In fact, you don't even have to be the captain to use one, although it is generally recommended that you are. You'll know you have one if you see your Captain's face in the Item slot at the top of your screen. For more information about each Captain's Special Ability, look in the "Characters >> Captains" section below.
Power Charge
Notice the ball changing colors? Well, it's not the cough syrup you just drank, the ball is actually changing colors...and it's a good thing. As you pass the ball between your players you'll see the ball change color from Purple >> Red >> Orange >> Yellow >> White. The closer the ball is to white the more powerful the ball becomes, thus increasing your chance at a goal.

MegaStrikes
A MegaStrike is a super-charged shot that can only be performed by your Captain. To do it, press and hold the B Button until you see a meter appear. Note the white needle. It'll be moving to the left. The closer you stop it (by hitting B) to the orange, the more balls you'll shoot. The needle will then make its way back to the right. There is a sliver of orange in some green. The closer you stop the needle to the orange on this side, the more speed the balls will have.
You'll earn as many goals as make it into the net and yes, they all count as real goals.
Skillshots
A SkillShot is a fully charged shot performed by your sidekicks. Each sidekick has a unique SkillShot.
MegaSave
If you're on the receiving end of a MegaShot you'll have to do some fancy goal keeping. Point the Wii Remote at the screen and you'll note that you're controlling a pair of hands. Point the hands at the incoming balls and hit A when you are over each ball to block it.
Mega Shakedown
You can also disrupt an opponent's MegaStrike while the meter is on the screen. To do so, shake your Nunchuk. This will result in the meter shaking, thus making it harder for your opponent to get a quality MegaShot.
