Galaxy/Normandy Sidequests

UNC: Unusual Readings (Distress Call)

Location: Decrypt the computer console in Udina's Office in the Citadel Presidium.

Go to Argos Rho >> Hydra >> Metgos.

Head to "Transponder Signal". It's a trap, make sure you're in the Mako and kill all of the Geth to complete the objective.

UNC: Major Kyle (Strange Transmission)

Location: Decrypt the computer in C-Sec HQ, Citadel Presidium.

Go to Hawking Eta Cluster >> Century System >> Presrop (moon of Klendagon).

Drive to the "Biotic Compound". Go to the door and attempt to Charm your way in. If you succeed, explore both the first and second floor control rooms for some goodies. If you can't Charm, then just kill everybody.

After you grab the items, exit the building and head to the round building with the antenna nearby. Enter it and head to "Sanctuary" to find Major Kyle. Talk to him and if you have the Charm skills, attempt to end things peacefully. This is good for the Paragon path. Otherwise, you'll have to kill everybody which does result in a bunch of XP.

When you get out, return to the Normandy and look at the Map again to complete the sidequest.

UNC: Missing Marines

Location: Talk to Admiral Kohaku in the Citadel Tower after becoming a Spectre or just go straight to Edolus.

Go to Artemis Tau >> Sparta >> Edolus.

Drive forward to the Distress Signal and fight the Thresher Maw by driving around and firing on it with your cannon (if another one pops up, fight it too). When it's clear, get out of the Mako near the dead Marines and examine them.

While you're there you may want to investigate the Anomaly (mummified Salaian with Captain Milon's ID Tag) and the Debris. Return to the Citadel and talk to Admiral Kahoku in the Citadel Tower.

UNC: Missing Survey Team

Location: Ride down the elevator to the Docking Bays, Citadel, and you'll overhear this news announcement giving you the task. Note, you'll need to have already become a Spectre to get it.

Go to Hades Gamma >> Antaeus >> Trebin. Drive to "Research Base". Locate and access the computer console in one of the pods. It tells you about the Excavation Site. Head north to it and enter it.

Kill all of the Husks until you get a message saying, "That accounts for all of the ExoGeni survey team."

UNC: Hostage

Location: Ride the elevator up and down (keep riding it if you don't get it the first time) between C-Sec and Docking Bay, in Citadel. This is after you talk to Capt. Anderson in Flux night club regarding how to steal the Normandy to go to Ilos.

Go to Hades Gamma >> Farinata >> MSV Ontario. You have 3:00 to head to Chairman Burns who is being held hostage. You must fight through about five or six enemies. When you arrive at the hostage stand off, try to end the situation peacefully. If not, kill everybody.

Return to the Normandy and access the Galaxy Map to complete the sidequest.

UNC: Privateers (Missing Person)

Location: Decrypt the computer console in the first floor, left side room of Synthetic Insights Offices, Hanshan Space Port, Noveria.

Go to Horse Head Nebula >> Strenuus >> Unknown (to left of Xawin...hit "Y" to scan it) MSV Majesty. After you scan it, land on Xawin.

Head to the "Privateer Base". Use the Mako to destroy the Alliance Turret Guns and the other enemies outside of the base and then enter it.

Clear the base of enemies and then head upstairs to the back room. You'll find the dead body of Captain Willem. Take the Datapad.

To complete the sidequest, go back to the Citadel Tower and talk to Garoth.

UNC: Geth Incursions (same as Geth Activities)

Location: I received this sidequest upon flying to the Armstrong Nebula. It's also available from the console in Virmire: Labs if you have a high decrypt level.

This mission requires you to find and destroy the Geth outpost on each of the four systems of the Armstrong Nebula. After each outpost is cleared you'll receive an awesome assortment of mainly ammo and shield upgrades.

• Armstrong Nebula >> Vamshi >> Maji. Drive to the Geth Outpost and shoot all of the Geth using the Mako.
• Armstrong Nebula >> Hong >> Casbin. Drive to the Geth Outpost, kill the Geth, and then destroy the Geth Dropship.
• Armstrong Nebula >> Tereshkova >> Antibaar. Drive to the Geth Outpost, kill the Geth, and the second wave of Geth that are dropped in.
• Armstrong Nebula >> Gagarin >> Rayingri. Drive to the "Overrun Research Outpost". Enter the building. Clear it out and then exit. Once back outside, take out the Geth and you'll intercept a transmission which will lead you to the main Geth base.
• Armstrong Nebula >> Grissom >> Solcrum (moon of Notanban). Drive to the "!". Before you get there, Save. Carefully take out the Geth armor and troops outside the base and then enter. Clear out the base and then go to the back room to find some Data Files.

Tali and the Geth

Prerequistite: Complete UNC: Geth Incursions sidequest.

Location: Grab the Data Files in the Geth Base.

Talk to Tali on board the Normandy. If it doesn't work the first time, exit the conversation and then talk to her again. Choose to let her have the files or not.

UNC: Beseiged Base

Prerequisite: Listening Post Alpha.

Location: Fly to Armstrong Nebula >> Gagarin. If you don't get it here, just keep doing sidequests and you'll eventually get this transmission.

Go to Hades Gamma >> Cacus >> Chohe. Drive to the facility and enter. You'll have to take out the Biotics but leave the Scientists unharmed. You need to be very careful. Use a Pistol for accuracy and make your squad mates "Take Cover" (Down on the D-Pad) in the first room so that they don't interfere.

When all of the Biotics are dead, go back to the Normandy and fly somewhere else to complete it.

Wrex: Family Armor

Location: Talk to Wrex between each mission until he gives you this task.

Go to Argos Rho >> Phoenix >> Tuntau. Make sure that Wrex is in your squad. Head south to the "Hidden Facility". Fight your way through the Pirates, including Tonn Actus, and go upstairs to the storage room. You'll locate the armor inside the Wall Safe.

Garrus: Find Dr. Saleon

Location: Talk to Garrus between each mission until he gives you this task.

Go to Kepler Verge >> Herschel >> MSV Fedele. Make sure that Garrus is in your squad. Fight your way to the Doctor and kill him. Return to the Normandy.

Prothean Artifact/Mysterious Globe

Location: Attican Beta >> Hercules >> Eletania.

Head to the "Anomaly". You'll find a mysterious Prothean artifact. Examine the artifact and you'll discover a Mysterious Globe with a keyhole at the bottom of it. If you did the Asari Consort and Xeltan's Complaint sidequests back on the Citadel AND answered Sha'ira (the Asari Consort) with "That's It?" after she gives you some advice, you'll be awared with a Prothean trinket. This trinket is the key.

Don't worry, though, if you don't have the key. The only thing inside the globe is a nice little short story about how the Protheans, on Mars, abducted and observed a Cro-Magnon man.

UNC: Locate Signs of Battle

League of One Medallions

You need Ten of these.

• Hawking Eta Cluster >> Century System >> Tharopto. Survey it.
• Horse Head Nebula >> Strenuus >> Yunthorl. Survey it.
• Artemis Tau >> Knossos >> Carbonaceous Asteroid. "Unknown" (in the outer asteroid belt). Scan it with "Y" then Survey it.
• Voyager Cluster >> Columbia >> Gromar. Survey it. Note, you must have completed UNC: Cerberus sidequest.
• Gemini Sigma >> Ming >> Altanorch. Survey it.

Specialization Class - I received this upgrade, which replaces the "Soldier" class (in my case), after completing the Rogue VI sidequest. Because I'm a Soldier I was given the choice of Shock Trooper or Commando as my Specialization Class. I chose Commando. When presented with this option yourself, be it for whatever class it may be, look over the descriptions and choose which one is more akin to your playing style.
