Introduction

Welcome to Lunabean's "Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne" Walkthrough and Strategy Guide for the Playstation 2, Xbox and PC. This guide will tell you how to get through the game, and will provide you with some decent strategies when dealing with some tough enemies.

Since the game provides many controller options, our guide will tell you to hit your "Jump", "Action/Use", or "Shoot" buttons along the way. If you are unsure of what these buttons are, check the "How to Play" in the game's menu and your controls will be shown to you. If you don't like the default controls, go to "Options" in the same menu, then select "Controls". Here you can choose pretty much any configuration you want.

When playing through the game, Save a lot. I can't stress this enough, as the game has absolutely no auto-save feature. Even if you complete a chapter and die in the next one, you'll be taken to your previous save in the previous chapter. It's a horrible feature to the game and definitely harms the game's fun factor. So, save when new chapters start, save when you get through a tough area, and just save in general.

The game has some unlockable modes. When you play through "Max Payne 2" for the first time, it's on the "Detective" level. Completing the game on "Detective" unlocks "Hard Boiled", which is more difficult. Completing the game on "Hard Boiled" unlocks "Dead on Arrival", the most difficult of the storyline options. Completing "Dead on Arrival" will give you a cinematic bonus, which is altered from the easier levels' versions.

Completing the game in "Detective" will also unlock "New York Minute". This option allows you to play through any chapter of the game while being timed. Your goal is to get through the chapter in the least amount of time. Finally, in "Dead Man Walking", your goal is to stay alive as long as you can with enemies coming at you in a confined space.

Finally, this game isn't for kids. It's chock full of sexual themes and violence. It even made me blush a few times. So, with that being said, if you're "mature" and you're ready to play the game.
