Bryyo - Cliffside Airdock

Welcome to Bryyo, land of opportunity. Well, at least that's what I thought the welcome sign said. Head forward and you'll be given a mission.

Activate the Satellite Uplink

Enter the mushroom spore forest and go through the large door in the cliffside. Once inside, note the Bryyo Natives encased in ice. They're all over this planet. Continue through and attack the Gragnols (flying bats). Cross the ice bridge and drop down. Go through the next door and you'll get a nice cutscene telling you that you are in Bryyo, technically in Gateway.

Scan the area. Note the hanging yellow prisms. You can't use these yet so there is no use in trying.

From where you enter Double Jump to the platform to the left. Turn right and Double Jump to the next platform. Go forward and you'll find yourself on the other side of this area. Head up the unstable bridge to the right and Scan the orange and green Security Doors. Put your back to the door and look forward and to the right a bit to locate a platform against the wall on with a Grapple Point on it. Grapple it to lower it, thus destroying the unstable bridge.

With that bit of maintenance work out of the way, and with your back still to the Security Doors, turn to the left and double jump to the wall platform. Look to the center column and double jump to the platform on it. Here you will find an opening for the Morph Ball, glowing orange. Morph and enter.

Roll down the path and when you stop, set a bomb. This results in two thing: first, the orange lock on the Security Door is now released and second, a series of platforms has lowered for you. The Morph Ball slot will drop you and you'll end up back on the ground.

Unmorph and jump to the platform that you lowered with the Grapple. Make your way up the series of platforms which you just lowered (watch out for the Nightbarbs) and jump to the upper section of the central column. Here you will find an opening for the Morph Ball, glowing green. Enter it and roll down to the end. Set a bomb which will unlock the green section of the Security Door and will reveal a right side platform.

You'll drop out of the Morph Ball slot where you entered the area. Double Jump over to the now-revealed right side platform and make your way to the Security Doors. Go through and you'll enter Reliquary II. Note the raised opening for the Morph Ball in front of you. Before you enter the shaft go to the right and use your Grapple on the blockage in the shaft. Grapple it twice more to clear the blockage.

Enter the shaft and roll to the right. You'll emerge in an area with two Hoppers, a door, and another shaft blocked by a frozen Bryyo Native. Take out the Hoppers and go through the door for an ENERGY TANK (3 of 14). Exit this room, re-enter the ball path and backtrack. This time, head left.

When you emerge, watch out for the Shreikbats and then use a Missile on the Red Missile Door. You'll be in Grand Court Path.

Go through and jump up the first ledge. When you get to the second ledge, the orange/red ledge, look up and to the right. Inserted into the cave wall is a Statue filled with Fuel Gel (Scan it). Use a Missile on it to destroy it. You'll want to jump up to the platform you just created and then jump the gap to the tunnel in front of you. Follow it to the end and then jump the gap to the tunnel where you can see the MISSILE EXPANSION (2 of 50). Grab it. Drop down to the lower level.

Now that you've completed that little sidequest Scan the Phazon Vines blocking the path. Enter Hypermode and shoot each of the four blue orbs to destroy the vines. Exit Hypermode and head through the tunnel. You'll emerge in Grand Court.

Drop down the two platforms and go forward for a cutscene. Afterwards, you'll face off with two Reptilicus Hunters. They can cloak themselves. Take them out like any other enemy by locking onto them and shooting at their heads or firing Missiles at them. If you want, you can activate Hypermode to quickly dispose of them.

Once they're defeated a lizard statue will recess back into the cliff wall on the far side of the area. Head there and face the statue. To the left is a panel that you can shoot. To the right is a door. Go through the door and you'll be in Hillside Vista.

Drop down the platforms, take out the Gragnols, and then Scan the bottom of the platform to reveal a red rock (high in Talloric Alloy). Morph and set a Bomb next to the rock to destroy it thus revealing a Morph Ball path. It is here that you'll encounter the Snatchers and Korba for the first time.

These two creatures work together. The Snatchers attach themselves to you and will float you up to the Korba. In this case, however, you can use the Snatchers to float you up the vertical left path so that you can grab the MISSILE EXPANSION (3 of 50).

Follow the path and you'll emerge at a lizard statue with an Ornamental Panel. Scan it to reveal a Grapple Point and then Grapple the panel off. This will reveal a yellow section of Fuel Gel. Fire a Charged Beam shot, or a Missile, to destroy the statue.

Go through the door that has been revealed. You'll be in Reliquary I. Grab the GRAPPLE SWING.

Grapple Swing: The Grapple Swing allows you to swing from the yellow diamond Grapple Points. To use it, lock on to a Grapple Point with "Z" and continue to hold "Z". You'll automatically start to swing. Release "Z" when you want to let go. It's that easy.

Backtrack to Grand Court. At the Golem laying on the ground hang a left and go through the tunnel. Make your way up the platforms and you'll see a series of three Grapple Points. Attach to the first one, release, and attach to the next one. Repeat for the third, landing on the platform below the exit door (Note: when swinging from the second Grapple Point you can turn to the right to see an Ice Beam door. You can't access it now, but remember it's here.)

Scan any of the eight panels in front of you to reveal eight Grapple Points and then Grapple each of the eight panels off of the wall. This will reveal a Morph Ball path which you can use to get to the exit door. Backtrack to Gateway. Along the way you'll encounter at least three Reptilicus Hunters. Take them out.

When you arrive in Gateway jump to the orange-security-symbol side of the area (across from where you originally entered). Double Jump up the left side of the ledge and go through the door to locate the crashed Ship, the G.F.S. Theseus (Crash Site), which contains the Satellite Uplink.

Swing across the gap (note the Missile Expansion above the Grapple Point...you can't get it now) and you'll end up in front of the Ship. Morph and set a Bomb next to the cracked Morph Ball opening. Follow the path and you'll end up inside the Ship. Take out the hovering Atomic (explosive ball) with a Hypermode Charged Beam shot and then take out each of the two Clamp Locks on the Security Door using a normal Charged Beam shot.

This will reveal a power rod wall. Scan it to reveal Grapple Points. Grapple each of the four Grapple points to reconnect the power rods thus raising the Satellite Uplink. Go up to the switch on the unit and activate it (pull out, twist, and push in).

Doing this will result in you earning a MAP for this area. Two landing sites appear on your map conveniently located near the two Energy Signatures that you now have to destroy.

Because you can't do anything yet in Falls of Fire you'll want to backtrack to your Ship. Don't go too far though. Exit the G.F.S. Theseus and re-enter the Morph Ball path you used to get in to the ship. When you can go up, do so. Wait for the electric piston to rise up and then do a Morph Ball Bomb Jump (jump, set a bomb at the top of your jump, jump again and let the explosion carry you up even farther) to continue up. Continue to follow the path to the roof where you can grab the MISSILE EXPANSION (4 of 50) above the Grapple Point.

Backtrack to your Ship. On you way, you will have to use your Grapple on the lower statue in Gateway Hall to create a ledge for you to climb up out of there. When you get to the ice bridge you'll be trapped and will have to kill six Alpha Hoppers to unlock the doors. Use Hypermode to make this easy. When you reach your Ship, "Save and Enter Ship".

Head to Fiery Airdock.

Bryyo - Fiery Airdock

Destroy Eastern Energy Signature

Fiery is right. There is lava, oh, I mean Fuel Gel, flowing all over the place.

Start out by going through the door in front of you to Imperial Hall. When you get to the stone disc blocking your path fire a fully Charged Beam shot at the red cannister to make the disc move. Repeat for the second disc and then proceed up the ramp to the right and go through the door to enter Gel Refinery Site.

Take out the two Reptilicus Hunters and then cross to the other side of the room. Locate the Rotational Valve (raised platform with two red Fuel Gel canisters) and shoot each of them to create a platform. Jump up to it and then to the platform with the door. Go through to Main Lift. Grapple and then enter the Morph Ball shaft.

You'll soon encounter a bunch of Snatchers. Let them attach themselves to you and you'll float up. Note that there are two Morph Ball holes on the left: an upper and a lower. Float to the upper one first (float past it, bomb the Snatchers off of you and drop down to it). Roll along the path to find a MISSILE EXPANSION (5 of 50).

Exit out and repeat the process to enter the lower Morph Ball hole. Follow the path and then enter the manual Lift. In order to operate it you'll have to use your Grapple on the switch. Ride the lift down, use a Missile to get through the Red Missile Door and go forward to the Phazon Vines.

Enter Hypermode and shoot each of the five blue orbs on the Vines. After the fourth one you'll encounter a Phazon Overload!

Phazon Overload: From here on out in the game, while using Hypermode, you'll encounter a Phazon Overload. If you let the meter fill you'll die. To prevent this, rapidly tap "A" to drain the meter. You can, however, use Phazon Overloads to your advantage.

Essentially, you can use it as a full 25 second Hypermode where you can shoot all you want. You have to be careful, though, and watch your meter so that it doesn't get too full or too low. Just keep it in the middle to use it to your advantage. After 25 seconds you will auto-vent and the overload will end.

After that crisis is averted, if you haven't yet, shoot the fifth orb to destroy the Vines.

You are now in the Corrupted Pool. Drop down into the soothing blue Phazon to recharge your Energy. Then, use the Grapple Point to cross the gap. Go through the door.

You'll enter Gel Processing Site. Move forward and you'll be attacked by three Warp Hounds. Don't mess around here. Enter Hypermode and take them out. If you get overloaded, just rapidly tap "A" (or use it to your advantage).

When they're defeated approach the Fuel Gel podium at the far end of the room and then shoot each of the two Fuel Gel canisters on the podium. This activates the Morph Ball slot on the backside of the podium. Enter it and set a Bomb to raise the central platform.

Jump to the central platform, take out the Gragnols, and then note the two Grapple Points on either side of the room. Grapple each of them which results in the rails being connected to the central platform.

Jump to the platform on the left side of the room (East side) and enter the alcove where you'll find a half-open Morph Ball opening and a switch to the left of the opening. Go up to the switch, which is actually a pump. Use your Wii Remote to "pump" by pushing toward the screen and then pulling back. Repeat this four times so that the pump begins working and Fuel Gel starts to flow.

Next, you'll have to ignite each of these two Fuel Gel flows. To do this use a Charged Beam shot at the top (where it's flowing from) of the two flows. This results in the regulators flipping over thus creating a Morph Ball path for you. Yipee!

Roll along the path to the west side of the room where you'll find another Fuel Gel podium. Like before, ignite both Fuel Gel canisters and then use a Bomb in the Morph Ball slot. This will raise the central platform again.

Roll back to the other side of the room and jump to the central platform. Take out the Adult Gragnols by locking onto their tails with your Grapple Lasso. Face the south side of the room and Scan the Gel Vat. At the bottom left of it is a cap to a gel vent. After Scanning it, you'll see a Grapple Point on it. Grapple it.

The cap will break off causing a flow of Fuel Gel. Ignite it and then ignite the next flow that occurs (to the right of the first flow). This will cause the vat to blow up. Jump to where it was, which is now a nice new platform for you. Morph and jump into the Morph Ball shaft. Work your way along the shaft and you'll emerge at one final Fuel Gel podium. You know what to do. Activating this will raise the central platform to its final position.

Jump to the central platform, take out the Gel Puffers, and then jump to the Green Ledge. You'll automatically grab on and pull yourself up. Go through the door.

Yay! Your finally out of that hideous room and have entered Gel Hall.

In this room you'll see a spinning dragon head mounted to the ceiling. He is spewing Fuel Gel. On the left, hanging, is a vine. You need to ignite the dragon's Gel flow with a Charged Beam shot so that it ignites the vine, thus breaking it.

A platform with a MISSILE EXPANSION (6 of 50) will drop down. Jump to it and then jump to the far side of the room. Go through the door.

On the left is a SAVE STATION, use it. Go through the door, through Cavern Entry and then through Gel Cavern.

You'll enter Temple Access. Shoot the Gelbugs in the tunnel and proceed through.

Finally, you'll have reached Bryyo Temple. You'll be attacked by Pirate Troopers, Pirate Militia, and a Space Pirate ATC. Don't use Hypermode. You'll want to save that for later. Also, don't worry about the ATC. Simply take out the four Space Pirates and wait for the cutscene (or use this time to shoot crates for Energy).

Boss Fight: Rundus (Ice Man)

Noooo! Not Ice Man! He has become corrupted and now he is your enemy. This is your first tough Boss Fight. If you don't have three Energy Tanks then it's worth your while to read back in this walkthrough to find them.

Rundus' main weakness is that you can remove his Ice Armor using the Grapple. To do this you need to stun him. Be sure to Scan him so that you'll see the Grapple Point when he's stunned.

If you get frozen, rapidly tap "B" to break free. Also, if you lose track of him, use your Radar to locate him.

From the start lock on to him. Wait for him to settle down, either on top of an ice rock or on the ground, and then fire several Missiles at him (three or four) while also firing on him with your Beam shot.

When you see the Grapple Point appear on him (he'll grunt to let you know he's stunned), Grapple him to pull off his armor. He is now momentarily weak. Use this opportunity to enter into Hypermode and blast away at him. You'll want to strafe back and forth while you're attacking him to avoid getting frozen. A successful Hypermode attack will take anywhere from 1/3 to 1/2 of his health off.

He'll soon regenerate his armor and will begin a multi-ice boulder attack where he throws several large ice boulders at you. As he's charging up this attack, the boulders will hover above him. Shoot the ice boulders to destroy them thus revealing Energy Orbs inside.

Keep repeating this in an attempt to regain full Energy (full health). I was able to have him send out four rounds of rocks at me from atop the same ice column by not shooting at him. (Remember to Charge your Beam to collect the Energy Orbs.)

Once you're satisfied with your Energy (health) status, repeat the steps to stun him. Again, use your Hypermode to blast away at him.

Now he's angry. You have probably lowered his health to 1/3 or less at this point. As he zooms around watch out for the snow projectiles that he sends out. You can shoot them for Orbs or just avoid them by staying on the move.

The attack that you want to avoid at all costs is his ice club. You'll see him swing it around in a circle and then release it. It is very hard to avoid and does massive damage. I did have success by Morphing into the ball and getting as far away from it as possible.

As much as you want to stay away from him at this point, you do need to keep firing at him in an effort to stun him one more time. If you stun him and have a full Energy Tank, then by all means use Hypermode again to wipe him out. If you don't have a Full Energy tank then you're just going to have to whittle his Energy down bit by bit, hoping to stay alive long enough to do so.

In conclusion, the key to this battle is to use your Hypermode three times. After the first use your goal should be to completely regain full Energy (health) by shooting the ice boulders he sends at you. This will give you ample Energy to both survive the rest of the battle and to use Hypermode two more times.

Your reward for such superior fighting skills is the ICE MISSILE. Be sure to pick it up. After you do, all of the ice will melt revealing a veritable carnival of items. Suck them all in with your Charged Beam.

When you're ready, enter the Lift and ride it down. In the Temple Reservoir create platforms for yourself in the Fuel Gel pool using your new Ice Missiles. Cross through the room and go through the door.

You'll end up in Temple Hall. Activate the pump switch on the right. This creates a Fuel Gel flow from the walls. Use your Ice Missiles to freeze each of these flows creating for you platforms on which to jump across the room. Go through the door.

At long last you have discovered the source of the Energy Signature. Approach the console in front of you and use the hand terminal to activate the hologram. You are told about the Shield Generator and that you currently don't have the weapon to destroy it. Let's see if you can remedy that.

Although the Objective isn't officially completed, there's nothing else you can do right now.

Backtrack to your ship. On your way there you'll be told about a landing site of a Federation Ship at which you may be able to upgrade your ship. That sounds important. You should go there.

To get back to your Ship quickly you can take a Shortcut. In Gel Cavern look at your Map and note the side room shaped like an arrow. To get there, fire an Ice Missile at the ceiling where the Fuel Gel is spewing out in order to freeze it, thus allowing you to pass. Then, Morph and enter the Morph Ball hole.

Wham, bam, zing. You'll pop out in Imperial Hall. Head back to your Ship and choose to "Save and Enter Ship". Fly to Cliffside Airdock.

Bryyo - Cliffside Airdock

Travel to the Federation Landing Site

Welcome back to Cliffside Airdock. It seems we have a little unfinished business here. Remember the downed Federation Ship, the G.F.S. Theseus, where you used the Satellite Uplink? That's where you'll be heading.

First, however, it's worth your while to go on a quick sidequest. Open your Map and locate Grand Court on the east side of this area. Go there. Once there, Grapple to the second Grapple Point. While swinging, adjust your swing path using your Control Stick. Make it so that you swing toward the Ice Missile Door in the cliffside. Use an Ice Missile on the door and go through for a MISSILE EXPANSION (7 of 50).

Nice work. Sidequest done. Open your map again and locate G.F.S. Theseus, where the big "M" is. Go there.

Continue through the ship to the Falls of Fire. Shoot the Gel Puffers and then use Ice Missiles on each of the Fuel Gel flows to create platforms for you to jump across. On the other side, you'll find a Golem with a Morph Ball slot. Activate it and you and he will jump down a long shaft where you'll find an Ice Missile door. Shoot it and go through.

You'll be in Hidden Court. Eliminate the two Warp Hounds which will cause a Morph Ball slot to emerge on the base of the War Golem statue. Enter the slot and set a Bomb. This causes one of the vine anchors to pop its cover off. At this point you should realize that there are four vines tethering the Golem, not allowing him to move.

You need to break all four vines. First, shoot the vine anchor (the cover that just popped off) with a Charged Beam shot to break the vine.

Second, locate the Fuel Gel flow in front of the Golem, on the wall, and ignite it. This breaks a second vine.

Third, follow the vine from the Golem's right arm to where it connects to the wall. Scan the area to reveal a weakened section of Brinstone (rock). Fire a Missile at the rock to break it. Jump up into the hole you created and ignite the vine anchor which will destroy this third vine.

The fourth and final vine (the right foot vine) is a little trickier. Locate the only remaining Fuel Gel flow. Note that there is a Morph Ball path which begins just to the right of it. The problem, of course, is that the Morph Ball path goes right over the flow. To get past it, you'll need to fire an Ice Missile at the flow to freeze it and then quickly Morph and enter the Morph Ball path. The path leads to the final vine anchor. Set a Bomb to destroy it and then roll back out of there.

With all four vines destroyed enter the Morph Ball slot on the base of the Golem statue and set a Bomb. The Golem moves thus revealing an underground tunnel. Enter the tunnel and go through the door. You'll enter Ruined Shrine.

Before you start your journey up, drop down to the lowest level where you'll find a Golem arm. Note the crack in the arm. Use a Missile or Bomb on the crack and then roll inside for an ENERGY TANK (4 of 14).

Jump back up to where you entered and use a Charged Beam shot on the yellow Fuel Gel crystals on the Golem on the right. They'll explode causing a platform to lower and a Grapple Point to appear in front of you. Swing across the gap and then Jump up the various platforms until you can't go any farther. Look across from you to see more yellow Fuel Gel crystals in an arched alcove. Explode them and the rope holding the column on the left will burn.

There is still one rope holding the column. Go to the edge of the platform you are on and look to the left, to the base of the column (Scan reads "Structure heavily eroded...") . You'll see a crystallized Fuel Gel sticking up right where the rope ends. Destroy it to cause the column to collapse thus creating another Grapple Point.

Swing across to the alcove, go left and jump up the ledges. Continue to follow the path to the debris and blow it up with a Missile. Proceed up the path and go through the door on the left.

Nice work! You'll enter the "?", Travel to the Federation Landing Site (Hangar Bay).

Head to the left side of the central structure and approach the terminal for a cutscene. This triggers two Warp Hounds and four Reptilicus Hunters. Use Hypermode to quickly eliminate them. Once the area is clear the terminal will rise back up. Approach it and interact with it by pressing the left side (the blue arrows going up). This causes the central platform to rise up.

There's nothing you can do with it until you get the bay doors open. To do that, head across the area, activate the Lift and ride it up. Jump to the next platform where you'll see two covered vents the perfect size for the Morph Ball. Use a Charged Beam shot to blow the covers off each of the vents. Enter the first one.

You'll be spit out in a control room. In this room are some terminals, another vent, and to the left of that vent, an ENERGY CELL (Energy Cell 2). Pull the Energy Cell out. Note that the force field of the room at ground level has lowered.

Energy Cells: Energy Cells are used to power terminals/machines/doors, etc. If you want to see how many you are carrying, go to Inventory >> Energy Cells. Energy Cells become important near the end of the game.

That's all there is in this room. Blow the cover off of the other vent in this room and enter it. You'll be spit back out where you started. Jump across to the central platform and look up and to the left, to the upper control room. Scan just beneath the glass of that control room to locate a platform that can be pulled out using the Grapple. Do so.

In order to get up to it locate one of the Green Ledges at the top of the central structure that you are on. Jump up to the ledge then to the platform that you pulled out. From that platform (facing the control room windows) jump to corner platform to the right and then back to the next highest platform on the central structure. Look to the left corner (NW) in front of you (between two control rooms) and jump to the platform where you'll find a Morph Ball path.

Enter the Morph Ball path and you'll emerge in the Bay Door control room. Go up to the Bay Door controls and follow the instructions to activate the switch (tilt the Wii Remote back toward you and then forward). Exit back out of this control room and drop down to the ground floor.

Because your ship can't land with the central platform raised, go to the terminal and lower it (press the right side...blue down arrows).

Finally, it's time to call your Ship to you. Face the central structure and equip your Command Visor (lower right in your Visor Select screen...the visor that makes things green). With it equipped look to the center of the central structure and aim at the Ship icon. Press and hold "Z" to make your Ship fly to you.

Your Ship will land. Approach the terminal one last time and press the center icon to upgrade your Ship: SHIP MISSILES ARE ONLINE.

Ship Missile: Ship Missiles essentially allow you to call in bombing runs. You can only do this when you see a Ship Missile Command Icon which means that you must be in an open area. You must be in your Command Visor. You lock onto the Icon using "Z" and your Ship will swoop in and fire Missiles at the target.

Also note that you can run out of Ship Missiles just like you do regular Missiles. You collect Ship Missiles the same way you do everything else; you blow up crates, etc. Among the various Missiles and Energy Orbs, you'll also begin seeing a little Ship Icon.

There are nine Ship Missile Expansions scattered throughout the game. Each upgrade increases your capacity by one. That's it for here.

Save and Enter your Ship. Choose to fly to Thorn Jungle Air Dock.

Bryyo - Thorn Jungle Airdock

Exit your Ship and go through the door in front of you to Overgrown Ruins. You'll encounter a Pirate Trooper who is in Hypermode. Enter Hypermode and eliminate him. Scan the walls and note the yellow crystal sections which are high in Fuel Gel. You can blow up these sections of wall with a Charged Beam shot. Shoot the first one you see on the right and then go through the Missile Door to Vault to find an ENERGY TANK (5 of 14). Exit back out to the main hall.

Continue forward and you'll get to an impenetrable blue energy shield and a second Pirate Trooper; take him out. If you scan the blue shield you are told that the power supply is coming through the ceiling. Backtrack just a tad and blow up the Fuel Gel crystal wall on the upper left wall. Use the ledges to jump up there and you'll see a Morph Ball hole. Go through. At the end, unmorph and activate the switch to lower the blue shield.

Head back down and then go through the door. You'll enter Ancient Courtyard.

Eliminate the two Pirate Militia and then scan the Jamming Beacon and the compound gate. Use your Grapple on the Jamming Beacon which will temporarily deactivate it. Quickly equip your Command Visor and locate the Ship Missile Icon on the compound gate. Aim it at and lock it in with "Z" to have your Ship destroy the wall.

A Berserker Knight and a variety of Space Pirates will attack. Ignore everybody but the Berserker. When you see him fire the dark orbs at you shoot them back at him using your regular Beam shot. This will damage the armor on top of his head and you'll know the armor has been destroyed when you can see a red spot on his head. At that point, enter Hypermode and shoot that spot until he dies.

Alternately, you can simply call in another Missile Strike.

As you go through the now-destroyed gate take note of the U-shaped smooth surface, looks perfect for some Morph Ball action. Don't worry about that now, however. Simply proceed through the next door. Make your way through the next room and then enter Jousting Field.

After you enter you'll be locked in and two Aerotroopers will attack. Lock on to them and fire Missiles at them. When they go down you'll enter a boss fight.

Boss Fight - Korakk Beast and Pirate Hussar

The Korakk is actually quite easy once you figure out what to do.

Wait for the Korakk to open his mouth. You'll see a blue glow to indicate it's vulnerable. Fire at his mouth with your regular Beam. This will cause his belly to glow red/orange. Morph, roll under him, and set off three Bombs. If you hit him you'll see him drop to the ground (if not, just repeat).

When he's on the ground go to the back of him (obviously unmorph), lock on to his tail and Grapple it. This causes him to scream out in pain, rise up on his hind legs, and open his mouth wide (it kind of looks like his belly...it's glowing blue, whatever it is). Immediately activate Hypermode, run to the front of him, and blast his mouth repeatedly until he dies. I was able to defeat him with only one round of Hypermode.

After he goes down, two Shield Pirate Militia will attack. Use whatever you like to take them out.

The red energy shield locking you in will now lower. Continue on your way. You'll soon get to a Y-Intersection in Field Access. To the right is an Ice Missile door leading to a SAVE STATION. Enter it and Save.

Exit out and go through the other door in this area so that you'll end up in Western Energy Signal.

Directly in front of you is a paneled wall. Shoot the middle red panel, and then the red panels that light up to reveal some Lore and a MISSILE EXPANSION (8 of 50). Continue forward and go to the lookout window. You'll see the Leviathan Shield Generator.

Equip your Command Visor and call in a Ship Missile attack. What the!?! Stupid Anti-Air Cannons!

Yes, it's true, you're going to have to disable each of the two Anti-Air Cannons in order for your Ship to make the Missile Run.

Destroy Anti-Aircraft Turrets

Attempt to backtrack out of this room and you'll be locked in. The two Security Shutters on either side will open and Armored Pirate Troopers will attack. Take them out and then head down the right path (the south path).

You'll be in Generator Hall South. Destroy the Fuel Gel under the walkway above to destroy it. Then, Jump up to the Green Ledge and you'll pull yourself up. Take out the Pirate Troopers and then Jump the gap. Follow the path, taking out Turrets as you go until you get to South Jungle Court where you'll find one of the Anti-Aircraft Turrets.

In this area there will be an infinite stream of Pirate Troopers who come at you two at a time (actually there will be three to start). Take out the first set and then Scan the underside of the Anti-Aircraft Turret, the yellow/orange/black circle. If you're having trouble scanning it try it from a variety of positions.

A successful Scan will result in a Grapple Point. Grapple it to cause one of the three Fuel Gel units to pop out of the Turret on its side. Quickly get out from under the Turret, as you'll take a ton of damage if you stay there, and locate the Fuel Gel unit sticking out the side. Shoot it with a Charged Beam shot and then repeat this process for the other two. (Note, these are not the Fuel Gel units laying around the area...these come out the side of the turret.)

Great. One Turret Down, one to go. Make your way to Auxiliary Dynamo. Locate and Scan the piston at the center of this small room. Use your Grapple on it which clears a blockage of a Morph Ball path. Head back to near where you entered this room and enter the Morph Ball path. Follow it around to a SHIP MISSILE EXPANSION (1 of 8). Exit out and make your way to North Jungle Court...be careful of the Proximity Mines on the way.

When you get to the second Anti-Aircraft Turret you'll see an Aerotrooper engage a security clamp. There are three security clamps total, each controlled by a large lever on the upper and outer rim of this room. Use the platforms to get up to each one, Scan it to reveal a Grapple Point, and then Grapple each one to release each of the three clamps. Note, you must be directly behind the lever in order to have a successful Grapple.

Ah, but that's easier said than done, isn't it? The Aerotroopers will fly around undoing your movement of the levers. The best way to do this is to go up to one of the levers and Grapple it. Then, take out the two Aerotroopers however you wish. Quickly jump over to a second lever and Grapple it. By now, two more Aerotroopers will be attacking you. One of them will soon fly towards the lever you just pulled. From where you are, lock on to him and fire Missiles at him to either disrupt, or hopefully, kill him. Then, take out the second Aerotrooper who is probably near you. Finally, quickly jump to the third lever and Grapple it.

Phew. All three clamps are released and all three Fuel Gel units on the Turret will be exposed. Hop back down to the ground and fire a Charged Beam shot at each one.

Congrats! Both Anti-Aircraft Turrets are destroyed!

Exit out and go to Generator Hall North. Here you'll encounter a raised walkway. To lower it, wait for the Fuel Gel units to pass over it and shoot them when they do. The explosion will break the clamps thus lowering the walkway. Cross it, operate the Pump handle, and then roll along the Morph Ball path. On the way you'll grab a MISSILE EXPANSION (9 of 50).

Head back to Western Energy Signature and call in your Ship using the Command Visor. This time the Ship will succeed and the Generator will explode.

Your work is done in this section of the planet. Head back to your Ship and chart a course for wackiness...I mean Fiery Airdock.

Bryyo - Fiery Airdock

Destroy Eastern Energy Signature

Welcome back to Fiery Airdock. The last time you were here you didn't have the weapon necessary to destroy the Eastern Generator. Now that you have the Ship Missile Command, you're all set.

On your way to there you may want to do a quick sidetrip to get two Missiles Expansions and to make a shortcut. Go to Gel Hall. From the platform floating in the Fuel Gel head along the south path (the Fuel Gel river) using Ice Missiles to create platforms for you. You'll soon come upon a MISSILE EXPANSION (10 of 50). Backtrack to the platform. Head north towards the Ice Missile door (using Ice Missiles to create platforms). Blast it and go through.

You'll end up in Gel Purification Site. There are tentacles hanging from the ceiling. Shoot the red light on the first tentacle to create a Grapple Point. While swinging, the light on the second tentacle will appear. Shoot it and continue this process to cross this room.

You'll emerge in Gel Refinery Site, a room you've been in several times, however this time you're up above. Look to the right and Scan the exhaust pipe. Use your Grapple on it. It will fall creating for you a ramp to get up here from down below. In other words, you just created a nice shortcut for yourself. Before you retrace your steps, grab the MISSILE EXPANSION (11 of 50).

The sidetrip is now complete. Head back to Gel Hall.

From Gel Hall, make your way to Temple of Bryyo, making sure to Save at the SAVE STATION along the way.

Upon entering the Temple a large clamp/cover will close down over the Lift. Scan everything in the room and take note of the clamp/cover which is vulnerable to your Ship Missile Command and the two Jamming Beacons. A few Aerotroopers will attack. Ignore them because your Missile Strike will take them out. To call in the Missile Strike, quickly Grapple each of the two Jamming Beacons and then look at the clamp/cover with your Command Visor. Call in the Missile Strike as normal.

The clamp/cover will blow up revealing the Life. Head down the Lift and make your way to Eastern Energy Signature. Take out the two Space Pirates and then go up the red energy shield overlooking the Generator. Call in a Ship Missile Command strike on the Eastern Generator.

Nice work! Both generators are destroyed! What's that? Now you have to destroy the Leviathan Seed. Geez they ask a lot of you.

Head back to your ship using whatever route you want (I used the Morph Ball shortcut via Gel Cavern). Once on your ship, set sail for Bryyo Seed.

Bryyo - Bryyo Seed

Destroy the Leviathan Seed

Exit your ship and use the floating platforms to get up to the door and go through. Shoot the organic vines in the blue eye twice with a fully Charged Beam shot. Repeat this for the next two vines and go through the door.

You'll enter Bryyo Leviathan Core. This looks daunting. Drop down.

Boss Fight: Mogenar

Mogenar is not so difficult as he is frustrating. It will take a good deal of patience and Energy management to defeat him.

First, you should get familiar with the process of defeating him. Mogenar has four red orbs: One on each shoulder, one in his belly, and one on his back. Each of these red orbs is actually a shell protecting a sweet gooey Phazon core. If you chip away at the red orb using your regular Beam attack you'll eventually break it revealing a bright white orb (the Phazon core). At this point, you need to shoot him while in Hypermode to overload his Phazon. Repeat for all four orbs and bam...he's dead. Easier said than done, of course. The full breakdown is below.

During the battle you'll see Mogenar attempt to grab two more red orbs to replace the ones that you've damaged. While the red orbs are hovering to him you have a chance to destroy them. This is good for two reasons. First, he won't be able to replace his red orbs and second, the orbs will spit out Energy Orbs.

Okay, now you have the basic gist of how to defeat him you'll actually want to have a strategy.

From the start lock on to him and use your regular Beam repeatedly to fire at any of the red orbs that you see. Concentrate on the three on the front of his body first. You'll know you're hitting them when you see tiny bits of red shell falling off of the red orb at which you're shooting. All the while, of course, you'll want to avoid his attacks which, at this point, can all easily be dodged by Double Jumping over them or shooting the blue shield attack (which will give you Energy).

If at any time during this process you see him go for more red orbs quickly redirect your fire at the two floating orbs as they make their way to him. Upon destroying them, charge up your Beam in order to draw any Energy (health) in the area to you.

Each time you destroy one of the red orbs on his body, it'll also release Energy, so be sure to grab it. When all three of his frontal red orbs are destroyed, and they're all glowing bright white you'll want to enter Hypermode. It doesn't matter which one you shoot at, but concentrate on one and one only. Anytime it is open for a shot, shoot. If you succeed in destroying it you'll know because the bright white orb turns yellow. Again, this should have dropped some Energy.

If you don't succeed in destroying one of the white orbs in one Hypermode session then concentrate on collecting Energy to resupply the tank you used. Again, do this by shooting red orbs when he's trying to recharge or by shooting his blue shield attack.

When you destroy that first white orb he'll become angry and will start running around. Note that his feet now have a Phazon covering on them which is protecting him. Morph into the Morph Ball and wait for him to charge a wall. He'll pause momentarily. At that point, roll up to one of his feet and lay three bombs down. This will shatter the Phazon covering. Repeat for the other foot.

While you are the Ball do be careful because you can take a lot of damage quickly. In general stay away from him and then do a quick roll-by, dropping the bombs as you near him. Also, if he does a stomping attack you can use your Morph Ball jump (flick up on the Wii Remote) to jump over the percussion wave.

After blowing up each of his feet he'll return to the normal pattern of things. The only difference is he'll be a little faster with his attacks. Repeat this procedure of gaining Energy any time that you can and entering Hypermode to blow up one of the remaining frontal orbs until all three frontal orbs are destroyed.

At this point you'll want to concentrate on the red orb on his back. One good time to do this is right after you destroy the two floating red orbs when he's recharging. Place yourself behind him, blow up the floating red orbs, and then wait for his back orb to be exposed. Otherwise, the best way to get at it is to wait for him to charge past you and then Dash around to the back of him.

Also at this point he'll add two new attacks: He'll cause the ceiling to collapse and he'll be able to send out Phazon missiles. When the ceiling collapses just run around wildly hoping that you're lucky and don't take too much damage. You could also try rolling around if you like. The Phazon missiles can be shot so don't be too worried about them.

Once you have his back red orb destroyed and you're seeing the bright white glow there isn't any reason not to go for it. By that I mean enter Hypermode and charge up your shot. As soon as you see his back exposed release your fully charged attack which will do massive damage and most likely take out this final Phazon orb in one shot.

When that fourth and final spot is destroyed, he'll go down and you'll earn the HYPER BALL SUIT.

Hyper Ball Suit: The Hyper Ball Suit simply allows you to use Hypermode as the ball. It's most effective if you simply hold down "A" while the in Hypermode as the ball. It'll send out electric shocks at your enemies. This is the easiest way to destroy Metroids (you'll encounter them later in the game).

You'll immediately get a chance to use it. Morph and roll around hitting "A" until all of the tiny Phazon pods are destroyed. After this you'll float up and face the Seed. Press "A" when prompted to destroy it.

That's it for Bryyo for now. Head to Elysia.
