Lunabean.com Home Page > | Grapple Swing: The Grapple Swing allows you to swing from the yellow diamond Grapple Points. To use it, lock on to a Grapple Point with "Z" and continue to hold "Z". You'll automatically start to swing. Release "Z" when you want to let go. It's that easy. |
|
Phazon Overload: From here on out in the game, while using Hypermode, you'll encounter a Phazon Overload. If you let the meter fill you'll die. To prevent this, rapidly tap "A" to drain the meter. You can, however, use Phazon Overloads to your advantage.
Essentially, you can use it as a full 25 second Hypermode where you can shoot all you want. You have to be careful, though, and watch your meter so that it doesn't get too full or too low. Just keep it in the middle to use it to your advantage. After 25 seconds you will auto-vent and the overload will end. |
| Energy Cells: Energy Cells are used to power terminals/machines/doors, etc. If you want to see how many you are carrying, go to Inventory >> Energy Cells. Energy Cells become important near the end of the game. |
|
Ship Missile: Ship Missiles essentially allow you to call in bombing runs. You can only do this when you see a Ship Missile Command Icon which means that you must be in an open area. You must be in your Command Visor. You lock onto the Icon using "Z" and your Ship will swoop in and fire Missiles at the target.
Also note that you can run out of Ship Missiles just like you do regular Missiles. You collect Ship Missiles the same way you do everything else; you blow up crates, etc. Among the various Missiles and Energy Orbs, you'll also begin seeing a little Ship Icon. There are nine Ship Missile Expansions scattered throughout the game. Each upgrade increases your capacity by one. That's it for here. |

| Hyper Ball Suit: The Hyper Ball Suit simply allows you to use Hypermode as the ball. It's most effective if you simply hold down "A" while the in Hypermode as the ball. It'll send out electric shocks at your enemies. This is the easiest way to destroy Metroids (you'll encounter them later in the game). |
