Part IV

Temple Grounds

Hall of Eyes

Take out your Map. Orient it North. Look all the way in the North for GFMC Compound. You've been there before but now you can access the Green Translation Door there. This area is quite a distance from where you are. The easiest way to get there is via Temple Grounds, Elevator to Temple Sanctuary, Temple Transport A, Elevator down to Sacred Path, Sacred Bridge (use your Dark Visor to see the door here then use your Seeker Launcher on it), then on to GFMC Compound. I'll meet up with you there.

GFMC Compound

Kill off the Pirate Troopers. Scan the Green Translation Door.

Fortress Transport Access

Shoot the Luminoth Turrets and go through the Blue door.

Transport to Sanctuary Fortress

Activate the elevator and ride it down.

Sanctuary Fortress

Temple Transport Access

Exit out to this hall and destroy the two Luminoth Turrets. Scan the Security Panel to open the locked door. Then go forward and use the Morph Ball Spinner to activate the next door. Go through.

Sanctuary Entrance

Do some scanning then take out the Pirate Commandos. I like using Charged Dark Beams on them. And, remember, when they deploy their red shield, don't attack them because its useless. When all 5 are dead, destroy the crates to get Health and Ammo. Go through the White door.

Power Junction

Take out the Octopedes by shooting them, running away, and letting them self-destruct. Go through the Blue door at the other end.

Reactor Access

Scan the two Mechanoids, then scan the door above and between them. Activate your Dark Visor to find the five targets around the door and use your Seeker Launcher to open the door. You will meet a Rezbit. If it hits you your suit's software will be affected. You'll be told to hit L-trigger, R-trigger, and the B-button simultaneously to reboot your system. Simply keep shooting it with your Power Beam and eventually it'll die. Jump up to the now accessible Blue door and go through.

Reactor Core

Here you'll meet up with a Quad MB. Scan it. When it does its spin attack, do lots of double jumping to avoid it. When it opens back up, target the head and fire at it (or use a Super Missile). Keep doing this until the head explodes. Then, when it goes into its spin, Morph into a Ball and use your Boost to slam into it. Then, set off some Bombs near it and it'll be toast.

After this you'll have access to the central area and the Red Missile Door. Enter the Red Missile door for a SAVE STATION, Save Station A. Then, enter the central area, note the Morph Ball Cannon, kill the two Rezbits and then use the platforms along the wall to get all the way to the top of the central area. Go through the Blue door.

Minigyro Chamber

Scan the Gyro Security Panel in front of you. You are told that the security sequence is: Amber, Cobalt, Crimson, Emerald. Use the Morph Ball path to your left and roll into the gyroscope. Go into each of the colored slots and set a bomb in this order: Yellow, Blue, Red, Green. There is now a path through the gyroscope. Roll through and go through the blue door.

Hall of Combat Mastery

Kill the Quad MBs then make your way to the Portal, Scan it to activate it, then step in.

Ing Hive (Dark Sanctuary Fortress)

Culling Chamber

Go through the Blue door on the right to enter Hazing Cliff. Take out the Dark Tallon Metroid, then use Charged Light Beams on the purple spinning blockades (Dark Diligence Drone). Then, grab the MISSILE EXPANSION (110). Go back to Culling Chamber. Enter the main area and take out the Warrior Ing. There is Black door that you don't need to enter yet. Go to the Blue door and go through.

Unseen Way

Activate your Dark Visor to find the invisible platform. Use the platform to jump to the other side.

Hive Reactor

Drop down to the ground floor and go through the Red Missile Door for a SAVE STATION, Hive Save Station 1. Then, go around to the opposite side and go through the Blue door to find an AMMO STATION, Hive Cache 1. Nice, you are all geared up again!

Head back up and go back to Culling Chamber.

Now, that you are all geared up and Saved, go through the Black door.

Central Hive East Transport

Take the elevator up.

Hive Dynamo Works

Kill off the many Nightbarbs then use the Grapple Point and swing across. You can go into the next room if you like, but there is nothing you can do there now. On this side of Hive Dynamo Works, find the closed Portal. Face out across the gap, activate your Dark Visor and you'll see 5 red targets. Target them with your Seeker Launcher and go through the Portal. This can actually be quite a pain because if all of the Nightbarbs aren't killed you'll probably lock-on to them. Just an annoyance, really.

Sanctuary Fortress

Dynamo Works

Kill the 2 Quad MBs and go through the Black door.

Dynamo Access

Kill the Diligence Drone with your Dark Beam then Morph and roll under the floor to the other side. Go through to Main Gyro Chamber.

Main Gyro Chamber

Ignore the Security Panel for a moment and find the green lighted Morph Ball Path. Take it to the next room/landing, then go through the next path to the Red Missile Door. Enter for a SAVE STATION, Save Station B.

Then, go to the Morph Ball Slot and enter it and set a Bomb to make a colorful puzzle appear. You'll see 9 colored octagons. 3 each red, blue, and green. To the left of each row of them is a corresponding color line. You need to shoot the four smaller octagons to rotate each segment so that red is at the top, green in the middle, and blue at the bottom. You can either use some trial and error or simply shoot the small octagons in this order: upper left, upper right, lower left, and lower right. This will raise another Morph Ball Slot. Enter and keep bombing it until the outer gyroscope stops rotating. Re-enter the green lighted Morph Ball slot and roll back to the next landing.

From here, jump onto the now stopped gyro ring. (If you fall, just scan the platform elevator switch to go back up). Go around until you can hop onto the next landing platform that has another green-lighted Morph Ball Path. This one will lead you to the other side of the Security Door you couldn't get through earlier. Here is Morph Ball Spinner. Enter and Boost. Now you have lowered the door for quick access.

There is a Blue door up a platform elevator or the White door near you. The White is useless to you right now so Scan the elevator Control Panel and go up. Go through the Blue door.

Temple Access

Jump the small fence, kill the Quad CM by shooting its head, using a few Bombs under it when the head is destroyed, then fighting the head again, this time using the opposite beam as to what his shield is showing to knock down the shield, then blasting him. Before you go through the Blue door, look above it. Activate your Dark Visor and find the four red targets. Use your Seeker Launcher on the four targets to create a Morph Ball Cannon. This will get you back up to where you entered. But, for now, go through the Blue door.

Sanctuary Temple

Jump down. Ignore the Quads for now. Use the ramps and your Grapple Beam (you'll do your first Grapple Point to Grapple Point swing) to get to the Blue door. Go through the Controller Access.

Sanctuary Energy Controller

Scan the Holoprojector. You will meet D-Lir, last Sentinel of the Fortress Temple. And, you can now open Blue Translation Doors! Head back to Sanctuary Temple.

Sanctuary Temple

Drop down and deal with the Mekenobites. To destroy them target each of their two legs using the Seeker Launcher. Then, use the ramps and Grapple Points again, except this time go the Blue Translation Door and Scan it to open it. Go through.

Worker's Path

There are three platforms near you. Jump to the 3rd one, turn around and Scan the underside of the 2nd one. This will activate a Morph Ball Cannon on the top of the 2nd platform. Use it. After you launch to the other side, Scan the next platform to reveal another Morph Ball Cannon which you won't use now, but will get you back across when you need to. Hop the platforms and go through the Blue door.

Dynamo Works

You are now in the Morph Ball Path area of Dynamo Works. Roll through and pay attention to the cutscene.

BOSS FIGHT - SPIDER GUARDIAN

SPIDER BALL

Boss Fight - Spider Guardian

You'll see that you can use the X-button to zoom in and out. What you have to do is bomb the Spider Guardian until it turns Green. When it does, a Morph Ball Slot will become active. You enter the Morph Ball Slot, activate it, and the Spider Guardian will go through a blue energy gate which damages him then he'll move on to the next section where you have to do the same. The Spider Guardian has an energy field around him. It is visible. Do your best to avoid it.

This first area is pretty easy. Make your way up the first two ledges on the left. Hang out in the corner and he won't be able to reach you. Use good timing to avoid him and make your way up, to the right, and down to the area underneath the not-yet-active Morph Ball slot. From this small path on the right, you can set a few bombs near the Pillbug path, then roll to the right and watch as your bombs get the Spider Guardian. Repeat this until he turns green. When he does, roll to the Morph Ball Slot, enter and activate it. Follow the Spider Guardian to the next area.

This second area has a half-pipe built into the bottom. You can use this along with your Boost to get back and forth. Watch as the Spider Guardian goes along his path. Use short bursts of your Boost to go back and forth along the bottom half of the half-pipe setting bombs on each side as you roll so that you bomb the Spider Guardian. Keep up this gentle rolling back and forth, setting bombs, until he turns green. When he does, a platform will come out underneath the Ball Slot. Boost up to the left side and roll to the Ball Slot. Enter and activate it. Follow the Spider Guardian to the next area.

This third area is a bit easier. Simply Boost up to the top left. Roll over to the gap in the gray platforms and wait until he's almost under you. Fall through and set off Bombs as you fall. He'll run right into them. Repeat until he turns green then you know what to do.

On the way to the fourth area you'll Bomb some crates for Health. In the fourth area there are a total of three blue energy gates that he has to go through. Each of three Morph Ball Slots control gates that will steer him into the blue energy gates. There is one on the left, one platform from the ground. There is one in the upper right, two platforms from the ground. Underneath this Slot there is a small ant hill so that it is difficult to balance as you try to bomb your way up to it. The third Bomb Slot is only accessible after the Spider Guardian eats through the second blue energy gate.

The first Slot you'll need to activate is the one on the left, one platform from the ground. This will make the gate to the right drop. Bomb him when he is to the right of that orange gate and the Spider Guardian will be redirected into a blue energy gate. Next, you'll have to get to Ball Slot one and two within the same period of time. Bomb him green then activate the first Ball Slot when he's to the right of it, then quickly go to the upper right slot, bomb up to it, and activate it. This will drop the gate to the left of this Ball Slot and he'll be redirected into the second blue energy gate. Now you have activate all three Ball Slots during one green cycle. First, to get up to the third Ball Slot look for the orange gate above the higher left side platform. You'll see this platform has four green segments to it. Go to the far right segment and you can Bomb up just past the orange gate to get up to the Ball Slot. Now that you know how to get to all three Bomb Slots you need to turn the Spider Guardian green. Quickly activate the first Ball Slot then as he bounces toward the second Ball Slot, bomb him again. You'll probably take some damage in order to do this, but it will extend the amount of time that he is green. Then, bomb up to the third Bomb Slot and activate it. Hopefully you did this quickly enough go get up there before he goes past the final orange gate that will redirect him into the final blue energy gate.

Once you have done this entire process you'll bomb up to and roll through the tunnel to grab the SPIDER BALL. This is a magnetic version of your Ball that allows you to use Spider Ball Tracks to get around. Hold the R-trigger to use the tracks. You can Bomb while your are holding the R-trigger to give you a quick boost from one track to another.

Backtrack back one area. If you go slowly and take the upper path you'll catch a glimpse of a Missile Expansion near a Morph Ball Tunnel. This is the area where you had the crates to Bomb. If the crates were directly below you, go to the upper left corner, bomb up to the path above and roll to the MISSILE EXPANSION (115). Roll through the tunnel. You will drop out on the non-Morph Ball side of Dynamo Works. Go up the Spider Track to the Blue door and go down the Elevator.

Hall of Combat Mastery

Exit the Elevator and enter this room. There is a Spider Track to your right. Roll over it to get to the other side of the glass barrier. Egad! Two Ingsmashers are now active. To break down their shields use opposite beam attacks. When the shields are down use a Super Missile. Repeat this process.

After they are dead, go to the North of this room and find the Spider Track that puts you into a maze. Bomb up and drop down and the conveyor belt will whip you to the left. Activate the Morph Ball Slot and the conveyor belt will switch directions. Avoid the flames then watch the laser gates and time your Bomb jumps up. Roll around and you'll next have to deal with moving platforms and horizontal lasers. Time your jumps up then go to the left. In the next area don't go through the blue Phazon. Hop onto the first platform and when the red magnet platform slides in above you, bomb jump up while holding the R-trigger so that you'll stick to it. It'll carry you across and you can drop on the left platform. Bomb up to the Spider Track. The roll right, bomb up the ceiling Spider Track, over to the next maze. Before you exit, you'll see the MISSILE EXPANSION (120) above a block. Bomb the block above you then bomb up to it. Exit out. Head to Reactor Core.

Reactor Core

You're going to make a quick side trip to get the Map and Save. Roll through Minigyro Chamber and enter Reactor Core. Drop down and enter the Save Room and Save! Exit out and go along the hall to the Blue Translation Door. Scan it to open it. You have found the MAP ROOM, Sanctuary Map Station. Backtrack back up to Hall of Combat Mastery.

Go to the Portal and activate it and go through.

Culling Chamber

Time to get a Dark Ing Hive Temple Key. Find the red Spider Track. Roll up and into the maze. Follow the maze until you see the Dark Temple Key. Bomb the blocks guarding the key and grab the ING HIVE TEMPLE KEY (1 of 3). Go back to the Portal and warp back.

By this point you may have received a hint saying that you need to find some Chozo Equipment back in Torvus Bog. Man oh man that's a long way from here. Don't worry about it. For now, head back to Reactor Core.

Reactor Core

I know, I know, I just had you backtrack here before you got the Dark Temple Key. Still, if you had died in between then and now you'd be pretty mad. So, go ahead and Save again and this time kill the Rezbits. It's time to grab an Energy Tank. Remember the Morph Ball Cannon at the bottom of Reactor Core? Well, roll into it while holding the R-trigger. You'll stick to the large conductor ball. Wait for the electricity on the Spider Track to go away and roll up to the next ball. Go over the red dot and hold your B-button to charge your Boost. When ready, release and you'll be tossed to the next ball. Every other ball is electrified so stay on a safe one until the electricity passes on the next one. When you get to the last ball, Boost jump over to the Spider track and then to the next Spider Track where you will find an ENERGY TANK (8). Backtrack to Sanctuary Entrance.

Sanctuary Entrance

Dark Samus will reappear and destroy the bridge. Face the door you just came out of. To the right of it find the Spider Track. Take the Spider Track until you can't go any further. Drop to the Track below and Boost over to the Spider Track on the other side. Ride this Track to the door and go through.

Temple Grounds

Transport to Temple Grounds

Take the Elevator up.

Sacred Path

Head back through GFMC Compound and back to Sacred Path. Take the Elevator up to Temple Sanctuary. Take Temple Transport C down to Meeting Grounds.

Make your way to Transport to Torvus Bog.

Take the elevator down.

Torvus Bog

Now you are back in Torvus Bog. You need to make it all the way down to Main Hydrochamber. Get there via Torvus Temple.

Main Hydrochamber

Upon entering Main Hydrochamber sink down to the bottom and go forward through the open doorway to find a Spider Ball Track. Use it. You've come to a Portal. Activate it and step in.

This boss fight is refreshingly easy. There's really no mystery to it. You need to use the Spider Tracks to get to each of the four Ball Slots and activate them. Do this and the Power Bomb Guardian will die. First, Scan him from below, then use the Spider Track to get up. I preferred working my way around to the right. Remember, you can angle it so that when you drop you drop diagonally from one track to another so that you shave some time off your journeys. Also remember that you can avoid the Power Bombs that are coming at you by rolling away from them. You have a few seconds between them landing and them exploding so use that time to quickly scoot by them or backtrack a tad to avoid them. You will definitely fall many times but this isn't that hard.

When this is done, roll up the Spider Track to the now-fallen bridge and grab your POWER BOMB. Use the Y-button to deploy a Power Bomb. Power Bombs open Yellow Doors! Bomb the Yellow door and go through.

Hop up and Power Bomb the Yellow door, go through.

Make your way up to the Save Room and Save! Next, backtrack back down to Undertemple Access.

Use the Portal here.

Torvus Bog

Hydrodynamo Shaft

I had you use this Portal so that you would encounter the many Hydlings. Shoot them all and collect all of the goodies. Make sure that you received some Power Bomb Ammo. You should have 2 Power Bombs after shooting all the Hydlings. Make your way to Gathering Hall.

Gathering Hall

Drop down into the water. Look down at the translucent glass floor that has the large crack in it. Use a Power Bomb on it, then on the yellow drain cover. It will create a half-pipe which will allow you to get up to the Spider Tracks. Use the Ball Slot on either side to energize the blue statue and make it so that you can reach the MISSILE EXPANSION (125) using the Grapple Point.

So, you just used two Power Bombs to get that Missile Expansion. You need to refill your Power Bombs before you go on. You can either go back to Hydrodynamo Shaft and kill more Hydlings then, return here, and make your way to Training Center OR you can use the Portal here, kill the Dark Pirate Commandos and then destroy the purple Ing pods and hope that you get at least one Power Bomb, then use the Portal and come back. Once you have at least one Power Bomb, head to the Training Center.

Training Center

Kill (or avoid) the two Dark Bloggs. Next, find the Morph Ball Spinner for reference. Facing the Spinner, go to the left of it just past it and look to the left wall. You'll see a Spider Ball Track. Go up and using your Boost to jump, make your way to the central ceiling area. Drop down when you are above the statue with the Morph Ball Slot. Enter the Slot and activate it to reveal the Yellow Door. Drop back down into the water and go where the statue just was to collect a MISSILE EXPANSION (130). There is also a Spider Track here leading up to the Yellow door. Go up and use a Power Bomb on it. Go through the door.

Fortress Transport Access

Hop the rotating platforms to the other side.

Time to head back to Sanctuary Fortress. Take the elevator.

Torvus Transport Access

Go through the tunnel taking out the Octopedes. Hopefully, they'll leave a Power Bomb behind for you. Bomb the yellow door at the end and go through.

Main Research

Kill the two Quads then use the frustrating Spider Ball Track maze to grab a MISSILE EXPANSION (135). Next, Scan the central shaft, nothing you can do with it yet. Then, use the Spider Track that leads to the Blue door and go through.

Transit Station

Take out the Ceiling Turrets then use a Power Bomb (only if you have 2 at this point) to break the Denzite Glass in front of the one Portal. Use the Portal.

Fight the Dark Ingmaster. You are stuck, so warp back. You will be in the Light World for just long enough to use the next Portal after you roll through the Morph Ball Tunnel. Now back in Dark World, go up the red Spider Track and use the Portal there.

After all those Portals, you are now back in the Light World. Take the Spider Track to the POWER BOMB EXPANSION. You can now carry 3 Power Bombs! Exit out using the Spider Track. Go to the Yellow door and blast it open. This will link you with Reactor Core.

Reactor Core

You've been here before. Head directly to the Save Station and Save. From Reactor Core, make your way to Central Area Transport East, via Hall of Combat Mastery, then take the elevator up.

Dynamo Works

Exit out to Dynamo Works. Head to Main Gyro Chamber.

Main Gyro Chamber

Go up the small platform elevator as if you were heading to Sanctuary Temple. At the top, scan the barrels laying on their sides. Use a Power Bomb on them. This will raise a Ball Slot and another colored puzzle. This one is a tad more difficult than the last one you encountered. First, shoot the bottom left small octagon three times. Then, shoot the top left small octagon two times. Finally, shoot the bottom right two times. This will raise another Slot. Get in and Bomb it to stop the inner gyro ring. Note that there is a Spider Ball Track inside the inner ring.

Take the small platform elevator back down and use the Morph Ball Path to get to the gyroscope. DO NOT take the Spider Track yet. First, make your way to Save Station B and Save!

Then, go back out to the gyro and use the Spider Track on the innerpart of the inner gyro ring. At the end, you'll see a crack in some glass leading to a Yellow door. Use your Boost to launch from the gyro, thus breaking through the glass. Power Bomb the Yellow door and go through.

Checkpoint Station

Here you'll see some Pirate Commandos get toasted by Dark Samus. Go to the side opposite the spinning fan and the doors will open for you. Here you'll see a bunch of crates. If you are low on either Dark or Light Beam ammo, use the opposite Beam that you need to destroy the crates to create the Ammo you need. Otherwise, if you are low on Missiles, just use regular Power Beam to destroy the crates. You need Missiles so unless you are full, get those. I was low on Light Beam so I blew up the crates with my Dark Beam. Go through the Blue door.

Aerie Access

Boss Fight - Dark Samus

Scan her. She has learned a few new tricks since the last time. As you're riding up the elevator avoid her ball attack by double jumping and when she de-Balls, lock-on to her and charge up a Super Missile. When she floats near you, blast her. After two Super Missile hits, the elevator will reach the top.

Aerie

You are now at the top of the elevator. Activate your Dark Visor so that you can more easily track her. Lock-on to her and fire Super Missile after Super Missile at her. But, don't waste them. If she's in the air, don't fire. Wait for her to get back near the ground and let one loose. While she's in the air she will either fire a Phazon Beam at you which you can Dash dodge (if it hits you, tap B-button repeatedly) or she'll roll up into a ball and come flying at you. Again, dodge, wait for her shield to go away and blast her with a Super Missile. After a few good hits you may find that your Dark Visor has become useless. When this happens, turn back to your regular combat visor and do your best to keep up the Super Missile barrage. Keep checking back on your Dark Visor to see if it's working again. If so, use it until it goes haywire again. Soon, you'll have worn down Dark Samus' energy to under a 1/4. At about this point, Dark Samus will start to attack over and over again using either the energy ball attack or the rolling Morph Ball attack. You can pretty much give up on using your Super Missiles now. So, lock-on and use quick pulses of your Power Beam to wear her down until she finally breaks through the window and you have defeated her.

Follow her out the broken window and shimmy along the small ledge of the building and you'll reach a Portal. Use it.

Use the Spider Track to get to the inside area then find the Morph Ball Spinner, enter and Boost until the Spider Track clicks into place. Use the Spider Track to get up above then jump over to and use the Portal that is here.

You are now up above in Aerie. Jump across to find the ECHO VISOR.

Jump down and activate your Echo Visor. You'll see three targets. Shoot the three targets to reveal an elevator. Step in and ride it down. Go through the Blue door.

Checkpoint Station

You'll be told that all doors are locked. Activate your Echo Visor to find the target to unlock the doors. Continue through to Main Gyro Chamber.

Go to Save Station B and Save! Now, take a look at your Map. Find Dynamo Works. You know that it is split into two sections: a morph ball section and a normal section. You'll also see that there is Yellow door at the end of the Morph Ball section that you should go explore. You need to get there via Sanctuary Temple. But first, make a stop in Temple Access.

Temple Access

Kill the two Rezbits. Then, jump down and Scan the circles above the next Blue door using your Dark Visor and your Seeker Launcher. This will reveal a Morph Ball Cannon. Use it to get back up to where you entered. From where you entered, activate your Echo Visor and shoot the target that you'll see. Then, quickly jump down, enter the Morph Ball Cannon and you'll be shot to a path that will take you under the floor where you can grab a MISSILE EXPANSION (140). Then, use the Spinner to open the floor so you can get out. Continue on to Sanctuary Temple.

Go through the East Blue door, hop across the platforms and use the Morph Ball Cannon.

Dynamo Works

You are now in the Morph Ball area of Dynamo Works, where you fought the Spider Ball Guardian. Anyway, go to the last section of this area and find the tunnel leading to the Yellow door. Blast it open and go in.

This is a Portal. Use it.

Ing Hive (Dark Sanctuary Fortress)

Neato. You are now in the Morph Ball area of Hive Dynamo Works. Use the Spider Tracks and your Boost to get to the other side using the floating balls. On the other side you'll see that there are a couple of extending platforms. Nothing you can do here now, so backtrack out and warp back.

Head back here and take the elevator down.

Hall of Combat Mastery

If you want to Save and Refill your Ammo and do a touch of exploring then go ahead and make this little side trip. Otherwise, head to Main Research (see below). Side trip: Go to the Portal at the East end of this room and warp.

Take a look at your map. You are heading to Hive Reactor where you'll stock up on Ammo, Save, and go through the Yellow door.

Go fill up on Ammo in the Ammo Station and go Save on the other end, then blast open the Yellow door.

Kill some Nightbarbs and go through the Blue door on the other side.

Go through the tunnel and ignore the Ing Larva Swarm. Go through the door.

You can't cross this chasm yet. But aren't you glad that you know it exists? Anyway, head back to Culling Chamber and warp back using the Portal.

OK, now that the little side trip is over, head to Main Research.

Main Research

Take out the two Quads then activate your Echo Visor. Find the three targets controlling the Echo Door. Shoot them to open the door. It is a Portal. Use it.

Ing Hive (Dark Sanctuary Fortress)

Staging Area

Kill the Hunter Ing. Then, activate your Echo Visor and find the targets to open the Echo Door. It will reveal a Security Console. Scan it. This will raise a section of the floor so you can go under it. Do so and drop down. Use the Portal.

Main Research

There is a Spider Ball Track in front of you. Roll up it to the end of it then use a few bombs to get up to the horizontal circle Spider Track.

Now you have to deal with the Caretaker machine. While holding the R-trigger the entire time, and charging your Boost the entire time, roll around avoiding the arms. When you see a red sensor drop down, line it up and release your Boost so that you go flying through the sensor knocking it out. After doing this to three sensors a large sensor will drop for a brief moment. Boost it to destroy it. Next, you'll have another level of this, but this time, your horizontal circle has two gaps in it. Nasty. Get used to jumping back and forth to avoid the arms. The final stage has three gaps. You know what to do. When Caretaker is finished Go up the Spider Track and through the small tunnel. You'll drop down to a previously unreachable Blue door. Go through.

Central Area Transport West

The Morph Ball Cannon here will be covered. Activate your Echo Visor to unlock the Cannon. Then, roll into the Cannon. You are now at the top. Before you move on, there is a Missile Expansion to grab. Drop back down into the elevator. Find the Cannon. Look to the right. You'll see a Ball Path. Take the left path down one, then head right and you'll fall onto a MISSILE EXPANSION (145). Go back up and go through the Blue door.

Kill the two Rezbits. Next, locate the White door in the East and ride the platform around to it. Go through the White door.

Drop down and scan the Security Panel. It'll drop two Grapple Points. Now you can get through easily from the other side. Also, grab the ENERGY TANK (9). Jump back up and re-enter Watch Station.

You just re-entered using the White door. Look to your left, along the wall, to find a Spider Ball Track and a platform that you can jump to. Do so and use the Spider Track to get to the center of the area. Use the Morph Ball Cannon (while holding the R-trigger so that you grab on), then find your way around the Track to the Morph Ball Slot. Activate the Slot to raise the gate on the Portal. Go through.

Kill off the two Dark Pirate Commandos and look out and you'll see a Dark Ing Hive Temple Key. You can't get to it yet, though. Go through the Blue door in the NW and you'll be in Judgment Drop.

Kill off the gas pods then use the Grapple Points to swing to the other side. Drop down to the red platform and then to the Portal. Go through.

Hop up the platforms and go through the door.

Vault

Take out the Rezbit and go forward to see the Screw Attack that is currently locked off from you. Hop down to the area underneath the Screw Attack and scan the Security Panel to lower the bridge. Then, still in the same area, find the Ball Slot and activate it to get the lasers working. Whoops they're not pointed in the right direction. Time to cross that bridge and use the Portal.

Kill the Dark War Wasps then use the Grapple Points to swing to the other side. Use the Portal there.

Well would you look at that. You can now jump to platforms leading to each of the four Morph Ball Spinners. First, take out the Rezbit. Then, hop to the first Spinner and Boost to activate it. Kill the next Rezbit and do the same. Repeat for all 4 Spinners then use the Portal again.

Re-enter the area underneath the Screw Attack and re-use the Morph Ball Slot. It will activate the lasers, and now that they're all pointing the right way, it'll release the cage around the Screw Attack. Go grab the SCREW ATTACK. As Samus, do a double jump then add in a third B-button tap. Keep tapping to do the Screw Attack. This is a timing thing, get used to it.

Time to do some major backtracking. Pull out your map. Find Watch Station. Head there and take Central Area Transport West down and then go to Main Research. To do this you will have to learn your Screw Attack to get across the gap in Grand Abyss. Take your time, it's not a rapid tap kind of thing. Also, you may want to Save in Save Station B, off of Main Gyro Chamber.

If you recall, this is where you activated the switch to raise the floor so you could go under it and fight the Caretaker. Now, jump up on top of the raised floor and go through the Blue door.

Central Hive Transport West

Scan the wall going up the shaft. It's a Wall Jump Wall. You can use your Screw Attack to get up this shaft. To do so, back up a bit and face the wall. Do your double jump then tap the B-button a third time. This will begin your Screw Attack and you'll see yourself bounce off the wall to the other wall. Now it's simply a timing thing. You don't need to use the control stick at all. Simply tap the B-button each time you hit a wall and you'll be propelled ever upward. At the top let yourself un-Screw. This may take a bit of practice, so don't get frustrated. Go through the Blue door.

ING HIVE TEMPLE KEY (2 0f 3)

Yay! A ING HIVE TEMPLE KEY (2 of 3). This is the one you could see from the other side but couldn't get to. Scan the Security Panel to lower the red barrier. Kill the Dark Pirate Commandos. Then, Screw Attack to the Portal. Don't use it yet, though. First, Wall Jump up the Walls above the Portal to get a MISSILE EXPANSION (150). Then, go through the Portal.

Pull out your Map. See the White door you have yet to go through in Hive Dynamo Access? Head there.

Kill the Warrior Ing then activate your Echo Visor. Find the targets and shoot them to open the door. Go through the now accessible White door.

ING HIVE TEMPLE KEY (3 of 3)

Hive Gyro Chamber

At the top of the ball in the center of this room you'll find a Dark Temple Key. To get there, shoot the Tentacles so they don't bug you then use your Spider Ball to ascend the ball, go up the track and Boost jump to the horizontal Spider Track. From here, Boost jump across to get the ING HIVE TEMPLE KEY (3 of 3). Yes! You now have all three Dark Ing Hive Temple Keys.

Next, go through the North Blue door to reach an Ammo Station. Then, backtrack and go through the the Red Missile door for a SAVE STATION, Hive Save Station 2. Save! Finally, head through the South Blue door.

Walk forward and your three Dark Ing Hive Temple Keys will be placed. Go through the Blue door.

Take the platform elevator down and walk toward the huge mechanoid, Quadraxis.

BOSS FIGHT - QUADRAXIS

ANNIHILATOR BEAM

Boss Fight - Quadraxis

Scan him. You'll discover that he has weak knee joints. You need to fire Super Missiles into his knee joints when any particular joint is glowing blue. First, though, you'll want to roll up into a Ball and use regular Bombs underneath each of his feet so that he won't do his red electricity attack. Once you have Bombed all four feet, life is much easier. De-Morph and target his knees. Keep an eye out for any one of them that turns blue. When this happens, fire a Super Missile at the joint. You can pretty much do this from underneath him, but you have have to go to the side a bit to make your Super Missile hit. Keep firing Super Missiles at glowing blue joints until it collapses.

Attack-wise, Quadraxis really isn't too bad. If you bomb the legs so that he doesn't do the red electricity attacks, that's half the battle. If you see that he's going to lock-on to you, become a Ball and Boost out of the way. If he starts spinning do a Boost attack into him to stop it.

Great, now the head is on its own. Scan it. You'll learn the the Head is still taking commands from the collapsed body. You need to sever that communication. Activate your Echo Visor. Look at the collapsed body. Fire two Super Missiles at the antenna sticking up on the body. Then, find the head and fire two Super Missiles at one of the three Antennas on the head. This will release a normal Quad. When it spins, do a Boost into it then Bomb it underneath. This will release the head. If it has a White shield around it, fire the Dark Beam at it. If it has a Purple shield around it, fire the Light Beam at it. When the shield is down, target it and fire a Super Missile at it to destroy it.

This will reset the Main Head. Again, activate your Echo Visor, target the Antenna on the collapsed body with two Super Missiles, then locate the Main Head and fire two Super Missiles at one of the remaining antennas. This will drop two regular Quads. Again, destroy them which will reset the Main Head again. Do the same thing: Echo Visor, target collapsed body antenna, target Main Head antenna. This will set the Main Head into the final stage.

Scan the Main Head again. Now you have to stun the head. You can do this with any weapon you choose. Try to use Super Missiles if you have them. Otherwise use charged Power Beam. When the Main Head is stunned it will slowly do a circle around the collapsed body. Each leg of the body is now a Spider Track. Go up one of the legs as the Morph Ball and wait for the Head to float your way. Then, Boost jump to the Head (be sure you're holding down the R-trigger) and you'll stick to the Head. Roll to one of the two Morph Ball Slots and lay a Bomb in it. Repeat this for the other Morph Ball Slot and you'll have defeated this enemy.

Grab the ANNIHILATOR BEAM. This Beam will get your through Gray doors. It uses both Light and Dark ammo simultaneously.

Go through the South Gray door. Get there using your Screw Attack.
