Part IV: Taka Pass >>> Moon Cave

Taka Pass

Main Story Walkthrough

I recommend that you go ahead and take care of the Taka Pass Wanted List (Haruka's Revenge Contract). Below are the locations of the Demon Scrolls to initiate the fights (at least where I found them). Remember, it must be night to do this.

Please note that the names associated with "x" location may be different for you. In other words, the locations are all correct, you just may have a different enemy appear than I did at that location.

1) Bulging Eyes the Despised - Due west of the Origin Mirror, near the tigers.
2) Weirdo the Abhorrent - In the upper area with the sapling. As you exit the tunnel head left (instead of right, toward the sapling) and you'll spot it.
3) Death Fin the Repugnant - In main field, west of tunnel entrance leading up to sapling.
4) Red Devil the Detested - Far west side of map. 5) Curse Gill the Repulisive - On the east side of the bridge.

After successfully completing the list, make a quick side trip to Kusa Village. Enter the inn and go up to the second floor. Knock down the right side screen/wall and you'll find Haruka. She'll reward you with Gold Dust. Go ahead and upgrade whatever weapon you like.

Also, while in Kusa Village, if you didn't purchase the Pinwheel from the Merchant, do so now.

With that little bit of side work out of the way, make your way toward Agata Forest (NE exit from Taka Pass). On the way out you'll pass the Tea Master and the Tea Customer. Talk to the Tea Customer, and if you have the Pinwheel, give it to him. He'll give you 10 Praise.

Agata Forest

Main Story Walkthrough

Open your map. Note the red circle in the middle, amongst the islands. It is meaningless for now.

Instead, head up to Hitoshio Spring (the path near the Merchant on the west side of the map leads you there).

Hey look, it's Kushi, the Sake brewer. Mmmmm...sake. She needs her bucket filled. Use your brush to draw a line from the water in the spring to her bucket. Do this a total of three times to fill it.

Soon thereafter some imps and kite imps will appear. Susano, who shows up out of nowhere, will attempt to clear the enemies. As before with Susano, Slash when he slashes to defeat them.

You'll be given the Canine Tracker. Woo hoo! Head to the red circle on your map, on the southern island.

Speak to Kokari, who is trying to catch the Whopper, a huge fish. Talk to him until you are asked if you want to help him fish. Accept his offer.

Fish as you did before. I caught a crab, a killifish, and then the Whopper. Note that you'll have to Slash the Whopper twice in order to catch him.

This will result in another constellation. Draw in the three missing stars to reveal the rabbit masher god, Yumigami, the god of Moon Power.

He'll give you the Crescent Brush Stroke. You can now paint a crecscent shape in the sky to turn day into night. Actually, you really only need to paint a line in the shape of a crescnet, not the full crescent moon.

After that, Ume, Kokari's dog will appear. Of course, he's also a Canine Warrior and his real name is Jin.

Canine Warrior Fight - Jin

Jin is quite easy, particularly if you stay on the offensive.

He has three attacks. One is to dig a hole and then charge. When you see him digging, start jumping so that you get out of the way of his charge attack. Also, don't fall into one of these holes or you'll be stuck and lose your powers temporarily. Two, he lays poo bombs around the area. Watch out for these as you don't want to be near them when they explode. Three, he does the good ol' glow and then charge attack of the other canine warriors.

I recommend using the Divine Beads and ripping into him. Paint a bomb here and there. When you get him stunned (yellow stars around him), Slash him to do a great deal of damage.

Like Gi, Jin will send his Orb at you. This one is known as the Justice Orb.

There's only one Canine Warrior left. Time to make your way to Kamiki Village, however, it'll be good to make a stop in Shinshu Field on the way there.

Shinshu Field

Main Story Walkthrough

If you haven't yet, now is a good time to complete Mika's Monster Notebook (Shinshu Field Wanted List). This is made all the easier because you can now turn day into night, so you don't have to wait.

Please note that the names associated with "x" location may be different for you. In other words, the locations are all correct, you just may have a different enemy appear than I did at that location.

1) Onimaru the Incorrigible - SW of sapling, near road to Kamiki Village.
2) Biwamaru the Vandal - Automatic after visiting the Moon Shrine, where you get this list.
3) Akuzo the Interloper - Near Tama the Pyrotechnist's house, on the beach.
4) Izo the String Cutter - NE of the sapling, near where you met Ida the mail man.
5) Toya of the Short Temper - Near the front of the Nameless Man's house.

Head to the Moon Shrine and talk to Mika to earn your reward, Gold Dust. If you've been following this walkthrough, that's the fourth Gold Dust (two purchased, two earned) you've received. Go ahead and upgrade your weapon (you have four weapons at this point, one purchased, three earned, so you should have gold dust for each of your weapons).

Head across the field and go to Kamiki Village.

Kamiki Village

Main Story Walkthrough

Ahhh, Kamiki Village...it's been so long. Head forward and the Canine Tracker will once again appear. Head across the bridge and just before the Turnip Field you'll see Hayabusa, the dog from the very beginning of the game. If you haven't yet done the Turnip Field game, do so now or Hayabusa won't reveal himself as a Canine Warrior.

Make sure it's night and then talk to Hayabusa, er, Canine Warrior Chu and fight him.

Canine Warrior Fight - Chu

There's really nothing different with this fight than with the last two. When he digs a hole the dirt he kicks out will damage you, so just stay away. Otherwise, just lay into him with your weapon of choice (I used the Infinity Judge this time) and Bombs. Avoid his attacks per usual.

He'll give you the Loyalty Orb.

Before you head off for Kusa Village, remember that the Guardian Sapling in Kamiki Village will bear fruit each time you bloom another guardian sapling? Well, it's time to collect. Head up the path to the Guardian Sapling and cut down the two fruits (Gold Peach and Crystal).

Head to Taka Pass via the Mermaid Spring near the Dojo in Shinshu Field. From Taka Pass, head to Kusa Village.

Kusa Village

Upon entering the village visit the Merchant. If you haven't yet purchased the Gold Dust, do so. Save at the Origin Mirror if you wish (and why wouldn't you?).

Head to Princess Fuse's house (top of the path) and enter it. Talk to her and all eight orbs will end up around you.

Exit out and head right. You'll soon find the path leading up to the Gale Shrine. Head there.

Gale Shrine

Main Story Walkthrough

Outside the Shrine you'll find Susano, who is asleep and will no doubt get all the credit when you're done, and Yatsu a spirit who haunts this area. After talking with him you'll gain entrance to the Shrine.

1F

Slash open the three treasure chests in the central pool of water. Open your map and note the north path. Take the north path and you'll find a Devil Gate. Enter it and fight the Chimera. To quickly defeat him, attack him until he is gray and then Slash him. Do this three times.

The Chimera drops a shiny object, an Exorcising Arrow. "Bite" it to pick it up and carry it all the way west, through the windmill walkways, to the gate with the Lockjaw. If you recall, Exorcising Arrows unlock Lockjaws.

After the Lockjaw is broken, save at the Origin Mirror, and then enter the elevator.

Note the marking on the center of the floor. Looks like a Bomb symbol, eh? Draw a Bomb and the elevator will propel you upwards to 2F.

2F

Head into the Demon Scroll and fight another Chimera. Grab the Exorcising Arrow that he drops when he's defeated. Re-enter the elevator and you'll fall all the way down the shaft. Draw a Bomb to take you back up to the 2nd Floor and then draw another Bomb to take you up to the 3rd Floor.

3F

The Exorcising Arrow will automatically work on the Lockjaw, thus granting you access to the 3rd Floor. Head to the left side and go up the stairs. Continue all the way to the top and you'll find yourself in the middle of the blades of the windmill.

Here you'll see some evil wind blowing from left to right. You need to paint a loop-de-loop swirl in the opposite direction: right to left. Do this twice more, tracing over, but drawing in the opposite direction of the swirl of wind that you are shown.

A constellation will appear. Fill in the three missing stars. Kazegami, the wind god (a horse) will appear. He'll give you the Galestorm Brush Stroke. This brush stroke allows you to manipulate wind. Think about all of those treasures you've seen buried under piles of leaves...they are so toast. You can also blow out fires with them.

To actually perform the Galestorm, just draw a loop-de-loop like you did just a second ago.

As you exit this platform, and just before you go down the stairs, look across to see a treasure chest down a small passage. Inside is a Sun Fragment (the third one if you're following this walkthrough). To get to it, go down the stairs just a tad and then jump dash to the passageway.

As you make your way back down you'll pass a flaming treasure chest. Extinguish it with Galestorm to find the Gale Shrine Map.

Head back to the elevator and drop all the way down the shaft to the 1st Floor.

1F

Head onto the windmill walkway. Go past the windmill a tad and then turn around so that you can use Galestorm to draw wind so that it moves toward the windmill (you want a side-view of the windmill). The walkway will rotate, granting you access to a new pathway.

Open the treasure chest in front of you for the Brush Tips Travel Guide. Read this as it contains much useful information. You can also find similar info in the "Brush Tips" section of the Introduction of this walkthrough.

Head forward and go up the fallen column to the beams above. Use the Blossoms to get to the beam where you see four hanging flags (tapestries). Use Galestorm to blow the flags so that you can use them as platforms to proceed to the doors. Go through.

In this hallway there are three sets of flame walls. Use Galestorm on each one to put it out and then jump over it. Go through the doors at the end.

If you open your map you'll see that you are in the far west, in a large cavern on 1F. Head forward and you'll have to fight Crimson Helm.

Boss Fight - Crimson Helm

Part One - At the start, attack him (I used the Infinity Judge as my main weapon, but use whatever you like) until his armor breaks off revealing a skeleton that is on fire. Use Galestorm to blow out the fire and then attack him again. You'll quickly do a great deal of damage to him in this state. It'll probably take you two rounds of this to eliminate his health meter.

During this first part, his attacks are not that fierce, and you have the added bonus of the 8 Satomi Orbs. If he swipes at you with his sword, a Satomi Orb will absorb the attack. Therefore, you essentially have 8 built-in shields. Otherwise, his attacks involve spewing fire at you or jumping and landing, causing a fire ring to ripple out from him. Simply avoid and/or jump over these.

Part Two - Susano will rush in and try to save the day. Great. Like with most things Susano, Slash when he slashes to aid him in battle. Do this six times. Susano will then ask that Wind be conjured. Again, help him do this. Use Galestorm three times to generate enough wind for his needs.

Well, that was pretty easy, wasn't it?

Upon defeating Crimson Healm, you'll earn the Life Beads. If you already have an extra Gold Dust, go ahead and use it to enchance the Life Beads. Waka will soon chime in as he has gotten to the Serpent Crystal before you! Rats! He'll also lay a new prophecy on you, "a rendezvous with a sweet little thing." I sure hope it's candy!

You'll automatically speak with Princess Fuse and earn 30 Praise.

Head back out to Kusa Village.

Kusa Village

Main Story Walkthrough

Now that you have a new Brush Stroke, don't you think you aught to use it to get places you couldn't get before?

Remember that Blossom you used to get up to the upper walkway where you found the small tunnel leading to Ko, the Canine Warrior? Well, head back up there. But don't go into the tunnel. Instead, head past it and you'll find some flags waving in the wind. Use Galestorm (from right to left) to turn the flags into some steps. Jump up the flag steps and open the treasure chest on the right for a Sun Fragment.

Before you leave you may want to visit the Merchant as he has a new supply of Gold Dust (he only has one, but still).

Exit Kusa Village, to Taka Pass.

Taka Pass

Main Story Walkthrough

If you'd like a Golden Peach you can use the Blossoms and Flags near the Mermaid Spring.

If you'd like a Sun Fragment head over to Bingo, the guy against the wall in the west. Use Galestorm on his pile of leaves and accept his invitation to play a digging game, just like you did for Mr. Bamboo in Sasa Sanctuary. This is very tricky, so if you want to do this, follow these instructions precisely:

1) As soon as you land, dig like crazy on the block so that Bingo and you fall down. Bingo will fall and will be stuck. That's good. Leave him there. Open up the two nearby Buds.

2) Jump back up to the top level and run right. Jump over the first two pink blocks and then the single pink block. Dig the brown block before the next pink block you reach.

3) You'll drop down one block. Dig the block that is under you. You'll drop down again.

4) To your right (two spaces away) is another Bud. Bloom it for more time.

5) To the right of that Bud is a brown block. Tackle it (smash it). Go to where that block just was and dig the block under you.

6) You'll drop down and will be between to Slash blocks (blocks you can Slash). Don't do anything to them!

7) Wall jump back up to the Bud.

8) Wall jump all the way back up to the top level and run back to the left to where you left Bingo.

9) When you reach Bingo, Slash the block under him.

10) Tackle (smash) your way to the right opening the two Buds as you go (you are one level of blocks up from the bottom at this point).

11) When you get to the first pool of water, go ahead and Slash the two Slash Blocks to the right of the water and wait for Bingo to fall into and then get out of the water.

12) Continue right (eliminating blocks) until you get to the second pool of water. Here's where you'll need to be tricky, and the reason why you did that prep work in steps 1 - 7.

13) Go ahead and Slash the block to the right of the water and then fall down so that you are directly to the right of the water.

14) Wait for Bingo to fall into the water. When he's in the water, use your Waterspout to draw a line straight up from the water. This will create a geyser, thus lifting Bingo up. If you prepared things correctly above, he'll walk right and fall back down just to the right of you (you had to do this so that he wouldn't end up on the bottom level too quickly, behind the black block, else he gets stuck and you'll fail).

15) Quickly Slash the block above the black block to the right (you can do this while Bingo is above).

16) Just to the right is another Bud. Bloom it and then destroy the block under that Bud so that Bingo is now on the lowest level.

17) Clear all of the blocks on this lower level as Bingo walks to the right. When he gets to the wall on the right he'll spin his pendulum and sparklies will come up from the ground.

18) Dig there and you'll get the treasure.

You earn a Sun Fragment.

Feel free to continue looking around the area for treasures. When you're ready, make your way back to Kamiki Village via Agata Forest and Shinshu Field.

Kamiki Village

Great. Booze-house Susano has drunk the 8 Purification Sake. Orochi has returned and Kushi, along with her Thunder Brew sake, is off to the Moon Cave to sacrifice herself.

Head back to Shinshu Field.

Shinshu Field

Kushi will hop on your back. Head to the Moon Cave (SE part of the map).

Moon Cave

Main Story Walkthrough

Outside the entrance, you'll find Waka. He'll use the Serpent Crystal and his flute to open the Moon Cave.

5F

If you open the map in your Fan Menu, you'll see that you entered on the fifth floor. Head up the stairs and fall down off the top of them.

Calcified Cavern

You'll end up in Calcified Cavern, at the very north of it. Ignore the two imps and head south, where you'll run into the Thunder Brew. Continue south and you'll find a Devil Gate. Clear it to earn the Mask. This is an imp mask, and you can wear it to disguise yourself. You'll have the opportunity to paint it however you wish. Of course, I painted an "LB" on it for Lunabean.

Head back north to the two imps guarding the door. Because of your awesome mask, they'll let you through.

1F

You have re-entered the Moon Cave and are in a large circular room. Head east to the room with the big pot boiling, the Kitchen. Use Vine to connect the Blossoms to the hooks on the lid of the boiling pot. The lid will lift and you'll rescue Ajimi, the chef.

Ajimi needs 4 secret ingredients: Ogre Liver, Lips of Ice, Eyeball of Fire, and Black Demon Horn. Each of these is marked on your map as a red circle.

He'll give you an Exorcism Arrow. Exit back out to the central room and go west to the Lockjaw, which will be opened with the arrow.

Enter this cavern, head to the end of the path, and you'll see some Blossoms. Vine out to the farthest one you can reach (not the one above you). This is the only Blossom that you won't fall through. The rest of them DO NOT serve as platforms. Because of this, you'll have to Vine to the next Blossom in the sequence as you're falling. Remember that you can adjust the camera angles to your advantage.

If you want a Vengeance Slip, you can Vine over to the right landing where you'll see a crack in the wall near some pillars. Paint a bomb to access it.

When you reach the other end of the cavern, Slash the eyeball to open the door. Go through and clear the Devil Gate. Open the chest for the Ogre Liver.

Head back toward the central room. Before you get there you'll get a quick cutscene of a power spring on your left. Use it to get up to the upper ledge. Follow the tunnel and you'll be on the balcony overlooking the central room.

2F

To the left is another power spring. Use it to get up to the third floor.

3F

Take a look at your map. Another red circle beckons you to the north. Head through the door and cross over the bridge. Drat! The door is blocked with ice. Head back over the bridge and, watch out!

B1F

Now on the first floor of the basement, clear the Devil Gate for 30 Praise and then fill up the bamboo tube using Waterspout. This will drain the water from the pool in the central room, back on the first floor.

If you like, open the chest across the pond. Otherwise, use the power spring under the drainage pipe and go through the pipe.

You'll end up at the bottom of the now-drained pool in the central room. Fight the imp and then Slash the eyeball. This will open the floor below you. Ignore that for now. Use the nearby power spring to get back up to 1F.

1F

Jump to the middle platform, where you'll find the elevator operator. Slash him and the elevator will drop until he regains his composure. Repeat this until you get all the way to the bottom of the pit.

B2F

Jump off the elevator to the south and talk to the imp who tells you about a door that he is guarding. Head into the next area, fight the imps that appear, and then take a look at the four eyeball statues. There are two at the top of the ramp and two at the bottom of the ramp, near the door. Adjust the camera angle so that all four appear in, more or less, a straight line across. Slash all four at once to open the door.

Go up to and examine the ice statue. Fight the Ice Mouth by attacking it when it's in wagon wheel form; avoid its attacks by jumping and/or using Fleetfoot.

When the battle is over, the ice statue will melt and a constellation will appear. Fill in the three missing stars to reveal the phoenix, Moegami, God of Flames. He'll grant you the Inferno Brush Stroke. Like Vine and Waterspout before it, simply draw a line from a source of Fire to that which you want to burn.

Go ahead and give this a try on the ice boulder blocking the door. It'll melt. Go through that door (east door). Here you'll find another elevator. Before you talk to the imp who operates it, melt the ice and blow up the crack in the wall for an Inkfinity Stone.

Talk to the imp to ride the elevator up.

1F

Get off the elevator, go through the door, and clear the Devil Gate (use your Inferno on the torch to attack the Ice Mouths). Open the chest for the Lips of Ice. Two ingredients down, two to go.

Melt the ice to get through the door and you'll recognize right where you are, in the chef's room.

Exit back to the central room and you'll find a spring-bud in a pot. Hop into it and push the jump button. It'll propel you up to the second floor. Use the power spring to get back up to the third floor.

3F

Head north. The last time you were here, you couldn't get through the ice and the bridge broke. Oy! Repair the bridge by painting it in. Cross over to the ice and melt it. Enter the Devil Gate and clear it by defeating the Fire Eye and Ice Mouth (use Fire Eye's fire on the Ice Mouth and then use Galestorm on the Fire Eye). Open the chest for the Eyeball of Fire. Only one ingredient to go!

Before leaving, melt the ice to the north and enter the north room. There are three ice treasure chests, a stone ball on a pedestal, and an Exorcism Arrow. Grab the arrow and backtrack to the balcony of the central room. Head left and you'll automatically use the arrow on the Lockjaw. Go through the door (this is the SE door).

You'll find yourself in a cavern covered in quicksand. Avoid the moving sand...stay on the path...go past the stone ball and Slash the eyeball at the end of the path. You'll see that wind will create a path for you to cross the chasm. Go ahead and use Galestorm (from left to right). A pathway will appear. Cross it.

You'll soon come upon a treasure chest, two stone ball pedestals, and a floor switch. Open the chest for the Moon Cave Map. Hmm, it seems that the stone ball you passed earlier would fit perfectly into this floor switch. Head back to the stone ball and tackle (dash) at it, thus moving it along the path, eventually to the floor switch (don't worry if the ball falls down or through one of the pits...it'll just reappear).

Now that the ball is on the switch, all of the stone ball torches throughout the entirety of the Moon Cave are now lit. Woohoo! Head through the door and onto the balcony.

Head up the stairs to the left to find an Imp Merchant. Just past the Merchant is the end of the balcony. Go there and look up to the fourth floor balcony. You'll see a Blossom. Vine to it.

4F

Head around to the end of the balcony and you'll see two flags (banners). Use Galestorm and then cross over them to the next section of balcony. You'll see a rotating cannon. Because you activated all of the stone ball torches you can use Inferno to light the fuse on the cannon. Do so. Of course, you have to time this right so that the cannon fires across the cavern at the large white wall painting.

I recommend that you get behind the cannon. Wait until it is 1/4 of a turn away from aiming across the cavern and light it. Presto! The wall across the way is now destroyed.

Head to the blasted wall and enter it. You'll find yourself in a long tunnel filled with jars. At the end of it are three ice blocks, one blocking a door and two over treasure chests. Obviously, you need to melt them. Head back to mid-tunnel and locate the stone ball torch on the wall. Use Galestorm to knock it from its ledge and then continue to use Galestorm to move it to the end of the tunnel. Use the stone ball torch to melt the ice blocks covering the door. If you want, do the same for the treasure chests.

Go through the opening/doorway and clear the Devil Gate. Open the chest for the Black Demon Horn. You now have all of the ingredients for the Appetizer.

Exit out and jump back down to the first floor.

1F

Head into the Kitchen and talk to Ajimi. You'll automatically give him all four ingredients. Exit out to the central room and ring the large bell 8 times. Yes, eight times...one for each head of Orochi. You ring the bell, by Slashing it or jumping and tackling it. (If you want a crystal, melt the ice to the right of the bell and then use the power spring to get up to a treasure chest.)

After the bell has been rung 8 times (just keep ringing it until you get a cutscene) head to the elevator in the middle of the room. Talk to the imp and choose to ride it up.

At the top, get off the elevator and make sure to go through the Golden Gate on the right (remember, this is a checkpoint). Make your way all the way up the spiral pathway.

Boss Fight - Orochi

As soon as the fight starts, Slash any one of his heads. You'll learn that he has a barrier. Susano will enter. Oy. Susano. After a long cutscene you'll note that 8 Purifcation Sake has been pouring into the trough around the battle arena...how convenient.

Part 1

Orochi is susceptible to the sake. You need to get three of his eight heads drunk. To do this, you'll need to use Waterspout to draw a line from the sake (in the glowing circles) to the screaming mouth (it must be open and screaming). You must shoot sake into a head three times to get that head drunk. You'll know that a head is drunk when you see stars around it.

Each of his eight heads is wearing a hat indicating that head's particular power, like wind, fire, water, etc.

I recommend that you run around until you see the head wearing the purple crossbones hat. It'll spew out purple smoke. This is the poison head. To the left of it is the light head (has a hat that looks rays of the sun) and to the right of it is the earth (has a brown hat on).

These three heads are relatively easy to get drunk. With the light and poison head, simply wait for them to send out their attack (laser beam, poison smoke), avoid said attack, and they'll scream. Shoot sake into their mouths. Again, you must do this three times per head. The earth head will smash into the ground causing an earthquake which you can easily jump over. It'll then be stunned. Either attack it or Slash the head while it's stunned and it'll scream.

Once three heads are drunk, Orochi will collapse. Run up any of the necks to the central area where you'll find a bell. Attack the bell using whatever your main weapon is (I used the Life Beads, enhanced with Gold Dust). Do as much damage as you can to it until it regains its barrier (you should be able to knock of 1/2 to 2/3 of its health bar without any trouble).

Jump back out to the outer arena and repeat this process, again, I recommend that you use the same heads. Also, it seemed to me that on the second go-round, it only took two shots of sake to two of the heads (I hit light and poison again).

Part 2

After the bell is destroyed you'll need to contend with all eight heads.

Wait for a head to lunge at you, avoid it, and it'll scream. Shoot sake into its mouth and it'll collapse. Watch out for another head lunging at you, and then attack the collapsed head. Using enhanced Life Beads, it took two sets of attacks per head. You may also feel free to use Inferno, using the central fire as your source, which makes it quite easy to defeat each head in one go of it. Be sure you have enough ink, however, to shoot sake at any given time.

Part 3

When all eight heads are destroyed you'll get a cutscene and will have to draw a moon. Susano will enter and, just like every other battle with Susano, use Slash every time that he slashes.

You'll earn the Tsumugari sword (go ahead and enhance it with Gold Dust if you have some). Save the game when prompted.

Kamiki Village - Festival

Enjoy the sights and sounds in the village and then head up the path toward the Guardian Sapling. You'll soon get to Tama, the pyrotechnist, who is orchestrating the fireworks display. Talk to him to see a special set of fireworks.

At the tree, Sakuya will briefly talk with you. Enter the tree and head all the way to the Cave of Nagi. Here you'll find Susano and Kushi. Repeatedly talk to each of them until Issun lets you know that they probably want to be alone.

Backtrack out and head back down into the village. There's nothing else for you to do here so go ahead and exit out to Shinshu Field. It'll take a few tries to actually leave as Issun wants to party. Just keep trying to leave and you'll be able to.

Upon leaving, Issun suggests that you visit Capital City.

Shinshu Field

Head to the Mermaid Spring near the Dojo and go to Taka Pass.

If you'd like, before you leave, you may race Ida, the mailman. You may also talk to the Nameless Man (the earthenware maker) near his kiln to get a Vase for a Guardian Statue (please see "Guardian Statues" in the "Loose Ends" section at the end of this walkthrough).

Taka Pass

Head as far west as you can go to enter City Checkpoint.
