LB's "Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones" Walkthrough and Strategy Guide

Part 3: Save Fountain 10 - Save Fountain 19

10. The Sewers

You are not yet the Dark Prince, but you are changing. Run and jump to grab the pole. Swing around the pole using your "Wall Run" button, jump to the next pole, then the next one, and then to the pathway. Turn the corner and jump to the contiguous pole. Shimmy along it to the other side and then drop down. Go up the small staircase and jump to the pole. Climb onto the pole and then jump to the recessed stone ledge. Shimmy left until you are above the Close Walls. Drop down into the Close Walls and then slide down. Drop down at the bottom onto the large circular decorative drain.

Some Mer-Men will attack. They don't like the light that is shining down on the drain. Lure them to you by standing on the drain and when they hit the light, they'll reel back, allowing you to do more damage. When they are dead, head down the eerie hallway to the Dagger Switch. Vertical Wall Run up to the switch and plunge your Dagger into it. This will open a hatch below you. Drop down and you'll grab a ledge. Drop down again and you'll do a split. Slide down.

Now in a different room, jump to the pole. Drop down two poles to the lowest pole and then drop down into the water. If you are low on Health, you can drink this water (Hold the "Wall Run" button) to regain your Health. Move through the water to the alcove across from the poles. Look up to the left wall of the alcove to find a Dagger Plate. Go up to it, jump to the upper Dagger Plate, and then Wall Run to the right, thus grabbing a ledge. Shimmy to the right until you can go no further. Get on top of the ledge and jump to the circular column. It will begin to sink. Don't panic. This action is causing the door below to open. Slide down the column and go through the door.

Walk out onto the partial beam. Jump to the right, landing in between Close Walls. Slide down. At the bottom, drop down. Then, follow the draining water, dropping down the ledge. Move to the end of the pathway where you'll get the option to see a Landscape View. Back to normal view, jump to the left and you'll grab a ledge. Work your way up the ledges and then jump to the wooden circular column hanging down.

This column will move down from your weight. Don't panic, it's a good thing. The column activated the moving wall in front of you, with the Dagger Plate. Rotate around, jump to the pole, swing and jump to the Dagger Plate (the moving Dagger Plate) and plunge your Dagger in. When the moving wall is flush with the rest of the wall, Wall Run to the left and you'll be on a wooden platform. Wall Run the right wall and you'll end up in between a wooden Close Wall. Slide down and then drop down to the floor.

Move forward a tad and you'll transform into the DARK PRINCE.

There are some things you should know about being the Dark Prince. First, you have a new weapon, the Daggertail...a nasty whip. Besides attacking enemies, the Daggertail can be used to latch on to certain poles and columns. Second, you're Health will continually drain as the Dark Prince. The only way to regain Health is to kill enemies or to drink water. Practically speaking, that means you'll be doing a lot of killing.

Mer-Men will attack in waves. They are easily killed with your Daggertail. Pay attention to what the game tells you about the Daggertail, and at anytime, you can enter the Pause Menu and look at your "Combos".

When they're all dead, go to the hole in the floor and look at the stone block with the demon face in it (Demon Stone Switch). Press and hold your "Daggertail" button to pull the stone out, thus causing the door behind you to open. Go through the door.

Walk out onto the partial beam. Jump to the beam that spans the gap in front of you. Then, jump to the column. Slide down and start killing Mer-Men. You'll learn the Column Attack. Press and hold the "Daggertail" button in the direction of the column and you'll do a nasty swing around attack.

Follow the foggy path and you'll get to gap where you'll see a pole sticking out of the left wall. Run, jump, and hold your "Daggertail" button to swing from the pole. You'll end up on the other side of the gap. Go out onto the partial beam and do this again, but this time, you'll have to do two swings. You'll end up between a Close Wall. Slide down, drop down, and then kill more Mer-Men for Health.

After they're dead, with your back to the Close Wall you slid down, go down the short left path to find a Demon Stone Switch. Use your Daggertail to pull it out, thus opening the door behind you. Be quick, though, as the door will be closing as soon as you release the switch. As you go to the door, note the two crates on the left. Break them open for some Sand Clouds (Health) if you need them. Go through the door. (If you fail to get through the door in time, try again. If you are low on health, break open any of the crates/jars in the area. The longer you hold the Daggertail on the switch, the more open the door will become.)

Wall Run up the wooden wall, shimmy left and then jump up the ledges. Now in a wooden alcove, turn around and you'll see a ladder across from you. Jump to it and climb up to the next wooden alcove. Go up the small ledge to the Dagger Switch, activate it, thus causing the wall to move out, thus allowing you to jump to the pole behind you. Swing to the next pole. Keep swinging, but don't jump yet. Wait for the spiked half-log to turn flat, then jump, and continue to Wall-to-Wall jump up to the next level.

Follow the wooden pathway. At the end, walk out onto the partial beam and then jump forward to the wooden Close Walls. Slide down and drop down into the water. You will transform back into the GOOD PRINCE.

Find the ledge on the right wall. Jump up to it and then across to the next ledge. Jump up one more ledge. To the right, you'll see a wall moving up and down. It has a Dagger Plate on it. Jump to the Dagger Plate when the wall is at its lowest point. Ride it up. At the top, Wall Run left to the next passageway.

Here, fight off the Mer-Men that attack. Note the various lighted spots. Lure the Mer-Men into the light to make them pause for a moment, allowing you a clean attack. When they're all dead, find the Dagger Switch on the left wall near the door. Activate it and go through the door.

To your right are a bunch of rotating blades. To your left is an archway covered by curtains. This will lead to your first Life Upgrade.

LIFE UPGRADE 1

Go through the curtains on the left. Simply jump the gaps and/or jump from beam to beam until you get to the Life Upgrade Fountain. Take a drink from it. You'll be transported to a nasty obstacle course. Turn around, but don't run. Go slowly. You'll be surprised to see that there are rotating blades blocking your path.

Roll by the first blades, either on the right or left, as soon as they disappear into the ground. Then, walk out onto the beam, but don't go forward. Note the Arrows shooting from the right wall. Wait for the arrows to shoot and then walk by them; do the same for the next set of arrows. Next, you'll have to jump between two rotating blades to the next partial beam. This isn't hard, just time it right. When you land, do not go forward. Note that there is a spiked floor in front of this rotating blade. As long as you're still on the beam, you can simply jump. Time it so that the blade doesn't hit you and you'll clear both the spikes and the blade. Move forward and you'll receive the Life Upgrade.

End Life Upgrade 1

Backtrack to the curtains where you originally entered this path. Now, head toward the rotating blades. Roll through the first blades as soon as they go into the ground and then make sure to move forward quickly to get off the spiked floor. Roll through the next blades and you'll see a Save Fountain on your right.

11. The Tunnels

Move forward and then Wall Run the left wall, jumping near the end to land on the rock platform on the right. In front of you is a ladder. Jump or Wall Run to it. Climb up. At the top, jump across to the ledge. Get on top of the ledge. Arrows will be firing above your head. Jump up to and hang from the next ledge...do not climb up on top of the ledge yet. Shimmy all the way toward the bottom of your screen (or, if using the Prince's direction, move right). As soon as the Arrows fire, climb up, quickly jump across to the next ledge and then jump up again. You'll be hanging from the highest ledge. Shimmy a tad right so that you can climb up.

Now back on solid ground, look down the path and you'll see two Archers. Jump the first gap and then drop down and grab onto the ledge of the second gap. Wait for the further Archer to head right, and the nearer one to have his back to you. While hanging, jump across the gap. You are now hanging below the nearer Archer. Climb up and sneak up behind him for a Speed Kill. If you're lucky, the other one will not have noticed and you can Speed Kill him, too. Otherwise, attack the other Archer normally.

Look up to find a series of ledges. Wall Run up to the first ledge (with the weeds/grass on it) and then jump up ledges until you get to the recessed ledge. Shimmy to the right. Drop down to the ledge below. This ledge will break away in a second, so be quick and jump to the ledge across from you. Move right a tad and jump up to the recessed ledge. Shimmy right and then drop down to the ledge below. This ledge will also crumble, so quickly move to the right, jump to the higher ledge (another crumbler) and jump across to a solid ledge.

At this point, you'll hear arrows. Move right, jump up to the next ledge and move right to see the Arrows above you. When the arrows shoot, jump up and climb up onto the ledge. Again, there will be arrows above you. Move to the right side of this ledge and after the arrows fire, jump up and shimmy to the right. Climb up on the ledge and you'll be looking up a tower of sorts. You'll see two upper ledge come out of the tower. After a about 5 seconds, they'll recess back into the tower. Wait for them to pop out again and quickly jump up the ledges and at the top ledge, move right and jump up to where there is no railing. Climb up.

You are now at the top of the tower. Watch the cutscene of Vizier popping out of the Sand Gate(the beam of light). There are various beams of light throughout the city, meaning Vizier can quickly move around.

Here, at the top of the tower, is a Save Fountain.

12. The Fortress

Go to the part of the tower where there is no railing (not where you climbed up, but opposite it) and drop down into the Close Wall. Slide down. This is your first time with a Sand Gate and a Sand Gate Guard. The Sand Gate Guard is the Guard wearing red. He is responsible for calling reinforcements, so killing him with a Speed Kill is highly recommended.

Still in between the Close Walls. Wait for the other Guard to move into position below you. You'll get a Speed Kill opportunity. Do it. Then, sneak up behind the Sand Gate Guard and Speed Kill him. Note, he'll require three stabs. If you fail on either Speed Kill, either "Quit" then "Load" the "Fortress" save point and try again, or just battle them normally. If you battle them normally, try to keep the Sand Guard away from the Sand Gate. If he is near it, he can plunge his sword into it to call for reinforcements.

Once the area is clear, go to the Sand Gate and you'll gain a SAND TANK. You now have four Sand Tanks.

Head to the broken part of the railing and do a Wall Run when the spiked half-log is flat. From your Wall Run, jump to the pole sticking out of the shed structure. Swing to the next pole. From this pole swing and jump to the wooden platform with the Archer, when the Archer's back is turned. Do a Speed Kill on him.

Look to the wall with the Dagger Plates and the Rebound Shutter. You'll see a Chain hanging down. Run and jump to the Chain. Slide down the Chain. On the ground are two Guards. Wait for one of them to go away. The one under you will eventually turn his back. Drop down to the ground and Speed Kill the nearby Guard. If you're lucky, you may be able to sneak up on the other Guard, but most likely, you'll be fighting the Guard and an Archer (who comes to join the fight). (You may also be able to sneak up on the Archer if he didn't come to join the fight. Use your camera to look around the corner to see if his back is turned.)

Once they're dead, Vertical Wall Run up the wooden crate in the corner, underneath the Dagger Plates. Vertical Wall Run up to the Dagger Plate and then jump to the upper Dagger Plate. Wall Run to the left, use the Dagger Plate here, and then Wall Run to the left and use the Rebound Shutter, which will shoot you to another Rebound Shutter, which will propel you to a wooden ledge where you'll be hanging. Drop down and Vertical Wall Run up to the ledge across from you.

Here, you'll be underneath a balcony with a Guard and an Archer. Wait for the them to turn their back and walk away from you and then climb up onto the balcony and Speed Kill the Guard. Quickly run back to where you just came from and hop over the railing so that the Archer, who has now turned around and is headed back to you, doesn't see you. When the Archer turns back around, hop back up to the balcony and Speed Kill him.

On this balcony is a Rotating Switch. Rotate it and watch as part of the gate below is raised. Wall Run past the spiked half-logs to the corner stone platform and you'll become the DARK PRINCE.

Wall Run along the left wall and midway through your Wall Run, press and hold your "Daggertail" button. The Daggertail will latch onto the wall lantern. You'll do a Chain Swing. Continue to hold down your Wall Run button to finish your Wall Run and you'll land on a stone platform. Next, you'll see a pole above the area where there is an Archer below. Jump toward the pole and use your Daggertail to swing to the other side. You'll land on an upper wooden crate.

Before you go and do another Wall Run, drop down and sneak up behind the Archer to Speed Kill him for some Health. Speed Kills with the Dark Prince are a bit different. Rapidly tap your "Daggertail" button to strangle the Archer. Climb back up the wooden crates. The game will tell you to Wall Run, then Chain Swing, then jump to the Rope (Chain). Easier said than done. Start your Wall Run, do a Chain Swing and continue to hold the "Wall Run" button, so that you continue your Wall Run after your Chain Swing is released. The camera will move so that you'll see the Chain (the game calls it a Rope) you need to jump to. If you fail at any of this, simply rewind time and try again.

Now on the Chain, slide down and you'll be prompted for a Speed Kill. This one is easy. While you're hanging there, you'll use your Daggertail to decapitate the Guard. Drop down and kill the Archer and the Guard the old-fashioned way to gain some Health. Next, you'll have endless waves of Guards coming at you in twos and fours. Kill as many of them as you want. When you're satisfied, climb the lone circular column in the courtyard. Rotate and jump to the pole. Swing from pole to pole and then to the Dagger Switch. Plunge your Dagger into the Dagger Switch and watch as the gate raises (this is the other half of the gate...you raised the other portion, earlier, using the rotating switch).

Drop down, kill the various Guards who have gathered to regain some Health and then run through the gate you just opened. When you pass through, it'll close behind you. Go forward into the water and you'll transform back to GOOD PRINCE.

Move forward out of the water and hop into the Chariot. Controls for the Chariot are pretty simple. Use your Control Stick to steer and control speed. The goal is to ram other chariots off the road or into objects/structures. If an enemy gets onto your Chariot, use your Dagger to slash him and knock him off.

Watch the cutscene of you getting on the chariot and knocking over the prisoner cage...is this somebody you know? When it comes to actually driving the chariot, there are no real tips/hints. Ram the first enemy chariot into the building sticking out or the first archway. Then, your schizophrenic self will tell you which path to take. Generally, it's fairly obvious. When enemies attack, stab them. If your chariot is destroyed, try to rewind time. If not, you'll just have to retry.

After you complete the Chariot section you'll be inside the city of Babylon. Work your way forward along the path, turn the corner, and you'll see a wooden ledge above a door. Vertical Wall Run up to the ledge and then make your way up the various ledges. You'll get to a platform with a ladder. Climb up the ladder, jump to the wooden ledge, jump up to the wall ledge, and then jump back across to the upper ladder. Climb up. You'll reach a balcony and you'll smoke from a fire below billowing up. Face the smoke and find the ladder against the wall. Hop over the railing and then jump to the ladder. Climb up. Jump to the wooden ledge behind you, move left around the corner, and then jump to the ladder here. Climb up and jump to the railing. Hop over the railing and you'll be on a pathway.

Go through the archway to the outside and you'll see a Save Fountain on your left.

13. The Lower City

Walk out onto the partial beam via where the railing is broken. Below, you'll see a townsperson being harassed by some Guards. There is also a Sand Gate (you'll see the beam of light). Jump to the partial beam across from you. There is a partial beam sticking out of this beam to the right. Go along it and jump to the wooden ledge on the wall. Move right, around the corner of the wall, and drop down where the small roof is broken. Here, you'll see a Guard through a window below you and to the right. Drop down to the ledge below, the one that goes underneath the window, drop down so that you are hanging from it, and shimmy right under the window. When you pass the window, get on the ledge and then walk out onto the partial beam. Jump to the partial beam across from you. Walk onto the small balcony.

From this small balcony, Wall Run the right wall to the Rebound Shutter where you initiate a Speed Kill on the Guard. Once he's done, go through the curtain and sneak up on the Guard inside. Do a Speed Kill on him. When he's dead, go back out onto the balcony. Go to the far side of it and hop over the railing. Below, you'll see a Dagger Plate. Drop down and stab your Dagger into the Dagger Plate. While hanging, move your camera so that you can see the two Guards on the landing below. Wait for the far one to be looking to the right and the near one to be under you. You'll get a Speed Kill opportunity. Do so, then sneak up behind the far one and Speed Kill him, too. Of course, if you fail, either rewind or fight them the normal way.

Walk out onto the partial beam, jump to the pole, and then to the Close Wall. Slide down the Close Wall. You are now near the Sand Gate. Note the Sand Guard, the one in red. There are two other Guards there, too. Turn around in the Close Wall so that when the guards align, one will be below you and you'll get a double Speed Kill opportunity. If successful (remember to rewind time if you fail) the two other Guards will be dead and the Sand Gate Guard will not realize you are there. You can sneak up on him and Speed Kill him. He'll take three stabs. If you fail, just fight them normally.

When they're dead, go to the Sand Gate for 100 SAND CREDITS.

Go through the arched open doorway, but don't go out into this next courtyard yet. Instead, move your camera so that you can see two Guards emerge. Watch their pattern. As soon as the left guard turns around, run up behind him. Speed Kill him and then Speed Kill the other Guard. As usual, if you fail, rewind or just kill them normally.

Near where the Guards were located is a stone pedestal/platform. Get on it and Vertical Wall Run up to the Dagger Plate. Wall Run to the right and you'll grab the ledge of the hole in the wall. Climb up and over. Drop down.

Here, you'll deal with your first Dog enemies (aka, Dogs). Kill them and then notice the alcove on the right, near where the Dogs spawned. Here there is a Treasure Chest with 10 Sand Credits. Grab them and then head the other direction. You'll reach a gap. Wall Run the right wall to clear the gap. Turn the corner, jump the next gap, and then Vertical Wall Run up the double-door wall to the railing. Climb up, go forward, jump the next gap and you'll end up in an inside room with three small fires.

Here, you will turn into the DARK PRINCE.

You'll immediately be attacked by three Dogs. When they're dead, break some crates/jars for Health, go out onto the tile ledge, jump and Chain Swing to the next balcony. It'll crumble below you as you run forward. At the end of it, Wall Run to the wooden pole. Climb up onto the wooden pole and then jump up to the ledge above.

On this balcony, sneak up behind the Archer and Speed Kill him. Wall Run the left wall, Chain Swing and land on the next balcony...another collapsing one. Quickly run along the collapsing balcony, jump and Chain Swing to the ladder. At the top you'll see a fountain (not a Save Fountain).

Enter the water and you'll turn back into the GOOD PRINCE.

Go down the stairs and you'll see a Save Fountain on your left.

14. The Lower City Rooftops

You'll be on a rooftop. Across from you are a series of rooftops with Archers. Wait for the Archer across from you to turn his back. Jump across and Speed Kill him. Go to the railing where you can see an Archer below. Wait for him to turn his back, hop over the railing, drop down and Speed Kill him.

Wall Run and do a double Rebound Shutter jump. This is actually a little difficult as you need to make sure you jump from the first Rebound Shutter as soon as possible. If you do it a tad late, you'll end up missing the second Rebound Shutter and will fall to your death. When done successfully, you'll get a quick cutscene of you flying through the air and a Guard rushing to kill you as you hang, exposed. A mystery friend will fire three arrows into the Guard, saving you. Hmm? I wonder who that could be?

When the cutscene is over, go forward along the roof and jump the gap to the next rooftop. Above you, on a higher roof, is an Archer. Wait for his back to be turned, Vertical Wall Run up and Speed Kill him. Here, you can get a Landscape View. Doing so will show you two more Archers on the next rooftop. When they are close together, with both their backs turned, jump the gap, climb up and Speed Kill the nearer one. If you're lucky, the other one will not have noticed this and you can Speed Kill him, too. Otherwise, kill him in the normal way. Jump up to the upper roof and you'll get a cutscene, scanning the area around you.

Jump across the gap to the lower rooftop. Wall Run along the Right Wall, use the Rebound Shutter and you'll end up on a Chain. Slide down. Note the two Archers below. Speed Kill the first one and then sneak up behind the second Archer and Speed Kill him. Again, if you fail, just kill them normally.

Go through the archway and jump to the wooden ledge. Drop down the three ledges to the floor. Go along the pathway and at the dead end, look up and to the left wall. You'll see a Dagger Plate. Vertical Wall Run up to it. Jump to the wooden ledge across from you. Jump up the ledges. Climb up onto the landing. They are hard to see, but along the right wall above the alleyway below, there are two Dagger Plates (one above the other). Wall Run to the upper one. Drop down to the lower one and then down to the alley below.

Go to the area with the three wooden tables and locate the Dagger Plates on the back wall. Break the chests/crates so that you can Vertical Wall Run up to the lower one. Jump up to the upper Dagger Plate. Wall Run to the right and plunge your Dagger into the Dagger Switch. This will open two doors: the reddish (nearer) one to the right, and a further one, behind you.

LIFE UPGRADE 2

If you want the life upgrade, drop down from the dagger switch and roll your way to the door behind you so that you'll make it under in time. Once you are through the door, drop from ledge to ledge down the shaft, being sure to jump to the other side on the lowest platform so you don't fall to your death. Continue along the path, break open the Treasure Chest for 10 Sand Credits, and continue to the Fountain. Drink from it.

You'll be transported to an obstacle course. Get in the middle of the hallway and roll past the first two spiked half-logs. You'll end up on a partial beam. You'll have many arrows firing on you from the right. You may get hit once, but don't worry about it. Make your way to the intersection of beams where you'll be safe. Wait for the next round of arrows, then move along the beam and jump to the next, higher, beam. Quickly pull yourself up. Walk out onto the partial beam and look at the wall. There are retracting ledges. When you see the lower ledge pop out, jump to it. Then, quickly jump up each of the next two ledges and pull yourself up to the hallway. Go forward for the Life Upgrade.

End Life Upgrade 2

Backtrack to where you entered and find the Dagger Switch to the left of the door. Use it to open the door. Now, back out in the alleyway, use the Dagger Plates to get to the Dagger Switch which opens both doors. This time, go through the reddish (nearer) one on the right.

In front of you is a Save Fountain.

15. The Arena

Boss Fight: Huge Bloody Tongue Guy

Go forward for a cutscene of your first Boss, Huge Bloody Tongue Guy.

To defeat him, you have to get on an even level with his head. This requires you to locate the Dagger Plates along the outside wall of the Arena. There is a wooden platform underneath the one you want to start at. Vertical Wall Run up to it, Wall Run to the Dagger Plate to the right. Then, Wall Run, again to the right, and you'll grab onto a wall. Hop over the wall and Vertical Wall Run up to the Dagger Plate. Wall Run left and you'll end up on a wooden platform at eye level with the Huge Bloody Tongue Guy. Walk out onto the partial beam. At this point, you'll get a Speed Kill opportunity. You'll have to do three successful stabs (if you miss, rewind time). The last stab will poke out his left eye.

Once back on ground level, you'll notice that the way you got up to him before is now smashed. You have to locate the small dirt ramp leading to a wooden platform (pretty much on ground level). From here, you can Wall Run to the beam sticking out of the wall. Once on the beam, jump to the right and you'll land on a rock platform. Vertical Wall Run up to the Dagger Plate and Wall Run to the left. You'll end up on a platform at eye level with the Huge Bloody Tongue Guy. Go out onto the partial beam and do the Speed Kill to poke out his right eye (if you miss, rewind time if you have Sand remaining).

(Note, that as you're making your way up to each platform, you may be attacked. If you see an attack coming, it is often best to simply fall back down to the ground and restart your climb rather than taking massive damage from a direct hit. Or, you can often avoid his attacks by backtracking just a tad, so that his attack goes under, over, right, or left of you.)

Now that both eyes are poked out, he has full health meter. Start slashing away at his knees and ankles. Do some rolls in between slashes to avoid his attacks (mostly kicking and slashing). Once the health meter is all the way down, you'll automatically enter into a Speed Kill, so be ready. After three successful stabs you'll defeat him.

The villagers who were being kept captive are now free and your boss fight is over! Unfortunately, you feel that you are turning into the Dark Prince and must jump down the well in the middle of the Arena to protect the villagers from you.

At the bottom of the well you turn into the DARK PRINCE and will be offered a Save. Do so.

16. The Arena Tunnel

Remember, your health is ticking away as the Dark Prince, so move fast. Wall Run past the first gap. Vertical Wall Run up the wall to the ledge. Move left, then jump up to the retracting ledge. Jump and Chain Swing across to the ledge on the opposite wall. Climb up to the hallway.

Run along the hallway and you'll get to another gap, protected by stone smashers. To activate the smashers, run between them and then quickly turn around. They'll smash together and while they're retracting, run through. Jump and Chain Swing to the ledge under a smasher that originates from the right wall. Hanging on the ledge, move all the way to the left. Climb up onto the ledge and jump up to the next higher ledge when the rock smasher retracts. Move left, turn the corner and then jump to the wooden beam behind you.

Before you jump to the next hallway, note the rock smashers that are just waiting to ruin your day. Wait for them to retract and then jump to the next hallway. Go down the ladder. At this point, you are probably very low on Health. About halfway down the ladder, jump off of it to the partial hallway with the various crates. Break them open for Health and to refill your Sand Tanks.

Jump back on the ladder and go down...you can only go down another few feet or so. Opposite the ladder, you'll see a Demon Stone Switch. Use your Daggertail to pull it out, then jump back to the partial hallway and go through the now open door.

Now on the other side of the door, break the crates for health. Wall Run the right wall, Chain Swing, and continue to Wall Run and you'll end up on a wooden ledge. Move left and jump to the next ledge. Move left again.

From here, you'll see a pole with a red flag. Jump and Chain Swing from the pole. You'll land on a wooden ledge. Jump to the next higher ledge and then jump from beam to beam until you get to the next pathway. Go down the pathway and turn the corner. Here is some water.

Go into the water to turn back into the GOOD PRINCE.

Walk outside and you'll get a cutscene of the mystery Archer saving you again. It's Farah! The Princess you fell in love with in "The Sands of Time". Due to some space-time continuum stuff, she doesn't know you. There is a Save Fountain to your left.

17. The Balconies

Across the rooftop from you is an Archer and a Guard. Wait for both of their backs to be turned and then Wall Run the right wall, using the Rebound Shutter to initiate a Speed Kill on the Archer. Sneak up behind the Guard and do the same or just fight him normally. From here, you'll see the beam of light indicating a Sand Gate.

Climb up on the raised platform to your left. Wait for the next Archer to turn his back. Wall Run to the Rebound Shutter and jump. You'll land on the small rooftop with the Archer. If his back is still turned, Speed Kill him. Otherwise, kill him the old fashioned way.

Look over the railing to see another Guard on a balcony across from and slightly below you. He will remain facing to the left. Hop over the railing, jump to his balcony, and Speed Kill him. Hop over the railing to the lower part of the balcony and Vertical Wall Run up to the Dagger Plate. Wall Run to the next two Dagger Plates. From the left-most Dagger Plate, Wall Run left. When you get to the corner of the wall (it's a flat corner with wooden windows, perfect for jumping), jump when you are above the lower wooden window, and you'll grab onto the chain. Slide down the chain. Speed Kill the Guard below. You are now on his balcony.

Walk out onto the beam. Jump to the chain. Slide down the chain. Wait for the two Guards to get close together below you: One will be directly below you, the other up the path to the left a tad. Initiate a Speed Kill, which conveniently enough, is a Double Speed Kill.

Once they're dead, don't go anywhere. Go into the nearby corner of the railings and get a good look at the movements of the Sand Gate Guard below. Across from you is a semi-enclosed half-wall structure. Note that the Sand Gate Guard will pause (back turned) in front of the "opening" of this semi-enclosed structure. You'll want to attack him from there.

Go around the path and, before the stairs, you'll see an open window (doesn't have the decorative screen) that you can hop through. You'll land in the semi-enclosed structure. However, be careful when you go through the window or he'll see you. Do it when his back is turned to you. If you're fast enough, you can go ahead and initiate the Speed Kill by sneaking up behind him. Otherwise, just hide in the corner of the semi-enclosed walls and wait for him to return and put his back to you.

(Note, if for some reason the Sand Gate Guard isn't patrolling around and is instead walking in a tight circle, reload the last Save (or just get yourself killed). This action on his part is usually caused by you going up the stairs and looking down on him from here. Next time, don't go up the stairs until after he is dead.)

Now that the Sand Gate Guard is dead. Walk to the Sand Gate to receive THE EYE OF THE STORM.

This allows you to slow down time. To activate it, tap your "Rewind Time" (Recall Power) button, the left trigger or L1, (as opposed to holding it down). The same red bar underneath your Health Meter indicates how long you have until time regains its normal speed.

Climb back up to the path/balcony you were on a moment ago. Follow the path around to the stairs and go up. Fight the two Archers and two Guards then locate the Wall Switch. Activate the Wall Switch by using a Vertical Wall Run. The switch will open a door down in the courtyard, across from you. In order to make it through the door in time, you must activate an Eye of the Storm (Slo-Mo). Do so and run through the door.

Roll under the beams blocking the next door and hang a left to find a Save Fountain.

18. The Dark Alley

Facing the save fountain, turn right and break the two wooden racks, the ones holding weapons (actually, you only have to break the left one). Start on the left wall and then Wall-to-Wall jump up to the Dagger Plate. From the Dagger Plate, Wall Run to the right to safely land on this landing. Go up the ladder.

Get off the ladder and you'll be on a wooden platform. You have a wonderful view of the city. Move forward and drop off of the wooden platform to the rooftop below. Some pigeons will fly away. You'll get the opportunity for a Landscape View. Do so and note the two Archers; one below you, one one on the next rooftop. Wait for the Archer below you to turn his back to you. Hop over the railing and drop down. Speed Kill him. If you can, jump across to the other Archer and Speed Kill him, but most likely, he'll have been alerted to your presence by your activities. Jump across and kill him the normal way.

After you kill him, Vertical Wall Run up the wall to the upper roof. Here you'll get a cutscene where Farah will notice your Dagger of Time. You suggest that you two work together, she says, "If you can keep up with me."

Head left and look over the railing. You'll see a Guard below, on a lower (but connected) rooftop. Wait for him to turn his back, jump over the railing, and Speed Kill him. Look up and you'll see a Dagger Plate. Vertical Wall Run up to it. Wall Run left to the next Dagger Plate and then left again to the rooftop. Here, fight the Archer and Guard.

After they are dead, jump across to the next rooftop, the one that is burning, and fight the two Guards. Farah will be impressed, as evidenced by the cutscene.

Farah will fire an arrow that opens a door. Go through the door. Walk out onto the partial wooden beam. Jump to the Close Walls. Slide down. Turn around and you'll see a Dagger Plate. Jump to it. Wall Run right, to the Curtain, and slide down. Follow the path to the wooden doors on the right. Vertical Wall Run up the doors and grab the ledge. Climb up.

From this landing, Wall Run to the Curtain, slide down, and near the bottom of the Curtain, jump, thus landing on the next hallway/pathway. Go along the hallway. Go into the alcove where you can get a Landscape View. Place yourself near the opening of the alcove (closer to the bottom of your screen) and Wall-to-Wall jump up to the wooden ledge on the left (it doesn't matter if you start on the right or left wall). Now on the ledge, move along it, go out onto the partial beam, and jump across to the next hallway.

Here, you'll be faced with a gap. Simply Wall Run the left wall and then climb up the ladder. At this landing, there is a nice star pattern on the floor and another ladder. Climb up. There is a Save Fountain on the left.

19. The Temple Rooftops

Go forward from the Save Fountain and you'll get a cutscene of you and Farah. You'll see Vizier float by. After the cutscene, drop down to the ground and you'll meet a new enemy, the Invisible Orc. You can see a very faint outline of the Invisible Orc and you can usually hear one coming. The easiest way to know they're around is that you'll pull out your weapon when there is seemingly nobody in the area.

Fight the four or five of them that attack you. At this time, it's best to simply slash like a mad man. That way, even if you don't know one is coming, you'll probably hit him. Also note that once you hit an Invisible Orc, he loses his invisibility. When all of the Invisible Orcs are dead, your inner voice will say, "Nicely done," to let you know that no more will attack at this point. You'll also put away your weapon.

From where you originally dropped down, go forward and note the large square stone column on the right. There is some rubble in front of it and some vines growing on it. Go around to the other side of it and you'll find a Dagger Plate on it. Vertical Wall Run up to the Dagger Plate and then jump up to the recessed ledge above. Shimmy around to the right until you are on the opposite side. Here, you can jump to a circular column. Climb up the column. Jump to the Dagger Plate and then Wall Run to the right, using the Rebound Shutter. You'll grab onto another circular column and you'll see a quick cutscene of Farah shooting down a Bell.

You are on a balcony. Walk toward the edge and fall down, grabbing onto the ledge. Jump so that you clear the gap below and land on the same balcony as the Bell. Get ready. An Invisible Orc will attack.

Stand near the bell, facing the wall. Look up and to the left. You'll see a hole in the wall above. Move the Bell so that it is underneath the hole in the wall (there is also a decorative star/sun painted on the wall). Then, Vertical Wall Run up to the hole, thus grabbing onto the ledge. Pull yourself up and go through.

In front of you is a Dagger Switch. Activate it. This opens two doors; one for you and one for Farah. You'll get a cutscene of Farah going through one of the doors. The door that you need to go through is on the upper balcony you just came from. Drop back down to the Bell. While standing on the Bell (make sure the Bell is flush with the wall), facing the wall, Wall Run to the left (running along the right wall). You'll grab the ledge of the upper balcony. Pull yourself up. By this time, you'll notice that the door on this balcony is open. Go through. If you're having trouble getting there in time, feel free to use an Eye of the Storm (Slo-Mo).

You are now inside. There are various torches burning and if you look over the ledge of where you are standing, it's a long way down. Jump straight across the gap, aiming at the torch. You'll land on a stone ledge underneath the torch. Move to the right and then jump to the Dagger Plate behind you. Wall Run left to the next ledge. This ledge will crumble, so quickly move to the left (three sections of the ledge will crumble) and jump across to the Dagger Plate. Wall Run to the right and you'll land on a stone ledge in the corner. Move right and jump up to the Dagger Plate. Behind you is a Dagger Switch. Jump to it. The switch caused two retractable ledges to come out; one below you and one across from you. Drop down to the one below you. Hang from it and shimmy left. When you reach the end of it, climb up so you're standing on it and jump across to the other retractable ledge. Quickly jump up to the solid stone ledge above. You shouldn't have any trouble with the timing of the retractable ledges...the game gives you enough time to make it to the solid stone ledge, however, if you're having trouble, you can use a Slo-Mo (Eye of the Storm) to help you.

Get up on this solid stone ledge and move right. The ledge will begin to crumble. Jump up to the recessed ledge above you, shimmy right, turning the corner, and then drop down to the ledge below. Move right along the ledge and then jump to the Dagger Plate across from you. Finally, do a Wall Run to the left and then jump before you reach the side wall. This will make it so you end up hanging from the ledge of the next landing. Climb up.

Vertical Wall Run up to the ledge. Climb up and then jump to the next hallway, above. Hanging from the ledge of the hallway, you'll see two Dogs. This will only be the beginning of a total of five or six dogs that attack. The Dogs are nasty as they steal your Sand from you. You'll probably die fighting them a few times, requiring you to make your way back to them. The easiest way to kill the Dogs is to stab them in the mouth when they go to suck Sand out of you. To do this, hold down your "Block" button so you don't take damage while you wait for the right moment. When you see the Dog's mouth glow brighter than normal, the Dog is attempting to suck your Sand. At that moment, hit your "Dagger" button to stab the Dog in the mouth for a one-hit-kill. Otherwise, you'll want knock them over and stab them with your Dagger of Time. I recommend lots of Wall Push attacks. This is where you get next to a wall, push against it, and push your "Dagger" button. This will cause you to push off from the wall and you will automatically fly at whatever Dog is nearest. Doing so will usually knock that Dog over. Quickly go up to the Dog and stab him. You can also try the Vertical Wall Run attack where you run up the wall and push your "Dagger" or "Secondary Weapon" button at the top. Depending on which button you hit, you'll do a cool move off of the wall, usually resulting in one or more dogs being knocked over.

After all of the dogs are dead stand on the star pattern in the floor, the one that is nearest to where you climbed up to this area. On this star, you'll get a Landscape View. Take a look and you'll see that there is a pole above you. To get to this pole, hop up onto the large rock against the wall. Face so that the wall is on your left. Wall Run around the inside of circular wall and then jump from the wall to the pole. Hanging from the pole, swing and jump to the Dagger Switch.

Watch the quick cutscene of the stone platform rising...this is what the Dagger Switch activated. Drop down, run to the raised stone platform. Climb it and then Wall Run around the inner circular wall. You'll end up on a wooden landing. Wall Run again, around this inner circular wall, and jump to the pole. Climb up onto the top of the pole and then jump to the top of the inner wall that you just ran around. You'll be perched on the top of this wall. Look towards the far wall where there is a tiled platform and a Dagger Plate above it. Jump to the platform then Vertical Wall Run up to the Dagger Plate. Wall Run to the left and jump from the wall. You'll end up on a pole. Swing from the pole to the partial wooden beam sticking out of the wall.

On the partial wooden beam, face the wall. Through the opening/window below and to your left, you'll be able to see a Sand Gate, the Sand Gate Guard and another Guard who will be patrolling. When his back is turned, jump to the left, grabbing onto the ledge of this upper balcony/landing. Break the many jars on this landing to refill your Sand Tanks. Then, move around a tad and you'll get a Landscape View. Note that there are two Guards, in addition to the Sand Gate Guard. Also note the Bell, underneath the partial wooden beam.

All three Guards can be killed using Speed Kills. To do so, hop over the railing so that you'll be able to jump to the partial wooden beam. Wait for the Guard who is patrolling underneath you to walk away (you'll have a Speed Kill opportunity, but DON'T do it). Jump to the partial wooden beam. You'll see a Dagger Plate on the far wall. Jump to it. Wall Run to the Rebound Shutter and stab the Dagger Plate it sends you to. Then, Wall Run left to the next Dagger Plate. You are now in position.

Wait for all three Guards to have their backs to you AND the two normal Guards (the two on the right) to be near each other (meaning the further one isn't by the window). When you have this alignment begin your Speed Kill. This will actually be a Double Speed Kill. Even though you'd think you made quite a commotion, the Sand Gate Guard will not have heard this Double Speed Kill. Sneak up behind the Sand Gate Guard and Speed Kill him (remember, it takes three stabs to kill him).

Alternatively, if you fail at Speed Killing each of them and have to fight them normally, be sure to concentrate on the Sand Gate Guard (in red) first. He's the one that can call reinforcements.

Either way, once all of the Guards are dead, go up to the Sand Gate to receive a new SAND TANK. You now have five or six sand tanks.

Locate the two Dagger Plates, one above the other, on the wall. Move the Bell underneath them. Vertical Wall Run up to the lower one, jump up to the upper one, and then jump up to the ledge. Climb up for a cutscene with Farah. She'll point out some switches that will help her to proceed.

Jump across to the Rotation Switch (fire burning on it). When you grab it, you'll get an overhead camera view. You'll see three rotation switches. I'm going to label them now: The one at the top of your screen is Switch 1. The one in the middle of your screen is Switch 2. The one you're currently operating is Switch 3. Rotate the switch (Switch 3) and watch as the two platforms rotate.

Hop down into the lower area below you. Vertical Wall Run up to the first Dagger Plate, around to the other two, then jump up to grab the ledge so that you can climb through the opening in the wall and then drop down on the other side.

You are now on the other side. You'll see Farah on one of the upper platforms that you rotated. You'll also have access to two more rotation switches (Switch 1 and Switch 2). Rotate the switch nearest to Farah (Switch 1) and then rotate the other switch (Switch 2). This will create a sort of bridge for Farah to cross. You'll get a cutscene of her crossing.

Next, rotate the switch that now is further from Farah (Switch 2). This will create another bridge for her to cross. In this cutscene, she mentions the Bell in the tower that she could sever with an arrow.

Next, rotate the same switch that you just did (Switch 2), which will allow Farah to continue. It will also trigger four Dogs. Like before, stab them in the mouth when they go to suck your Sand.

Next, work your way back to Switch 3 by Vertical Wall Running up to the opening in the wall, dropping down on the inside of the circular tower (silo), and then Vertical Wall Running up to the landing where Switch 3 is located. Rotate Switch 3.

Farah will shoot the rope holding the Bell, thus dropping the Bell. Move the Bell so that it is underneath the Dagger Switch. Vertical Wall Run up to it, plunge your Dagger in and the Dagger Switch will activate, raising a door to your left and a door for Farah. Farah will go through her door to help the wounded people she hears. You need to go through the door to the left that opened. You'll probably have to re-activate the switch to get the door back open as it will have shut by this time. Once the door is opened, jump up to the railing, climb over the railing and go through the door.

After going through the door, you are once again inside. There is a curved pathway that you need to take. Move right along the ledge and jump to the Dagger Plate. Wall Run to the next landing. Vertical Wall Run up to the Dagger Plate here, then jump up to the ledge above you. Move right, turn the corner. Make your way up the various ledges. You'll soon get to a Dagger Plate. From the Dagger Plate, Wall Run to the left to grab onto the ledge of the next hallway.

Go up the stairs and you'll see a Save Fountain.
