In front of you is Lili's Bracelet. Pick it up and work you way up the cliff. At the top you'll run into a crazy security guard. Keep talking to him and he'll tell you about "The Milkman", the man you must contact to open the asylum gate. This guard is clearly a nutjob. Lucky for you, you get to find out what's going on in that head of his. Slap that Psycho-Portal onto the man and hop into his brain.

Your goal here is to Find the Milkman. Speak to Boyd (the guard) and you'll get a new goal: Find the Clairvoyance badge in Boyd's house. Boyd mentions the refrigerator. Open it up to locate your Clairvoyance Badge. Using this badge allows you to see through the eyes of other characters. Approach Boyd and use the badge on him. You'll see the crazy things he sees, along with the exit. Head through the exit and to the streets of the neighborhood.

Outside your goal is to Go to the Graveyard and search the Milkman's Grave. It sounds easy enough, but you'll only be able to access the Graveyard after gathering specific objects in the town. So, move forward and check out the first house to the left. Notice there are Figments on its roof, in its backyard, and even inside the house. Every house in this level can and should be explored fully for Figments and other prizes. Be sure to check the refrigerators, too.

After you've checked out the first house, move down the street to the next house. Here, collect the Sign from the trunk of the car, examine the house for goods, then move on. The third house has a Cobweb blocking its door. Suck it up, explore the inside, then equip your Sign to move through the blocked off area. You need the Sign here, just as you'll need several different object, to get through similarly blocked off areas.

The fourth house has a Purse Tag atop it. Just past it is a blocked off telephone pole requiring a Phone to enter the area. You don't have a phone, so move on. The fifth house is blocked off by men requiring you have a Garden Tool to pass through. Again, you don't have this. Move on.

Jump over to the next street and collect what you can from the sixth house, then move to the seventh house. Collect the Steamer Trunk Tag from the backyard, then bash the trunk of the car in the driveway to pop it open for the Hedge Trimmers. You now have your Garden Tool. Return to the fifth house and use your Garden Tool to move through the barrier and into the house. It is rather pointless to enter this house at this time, since you'll find another blocked off area inside requiring a Rolling Pin, but you can collect the Purse and whatever else you spy. Exit out, collect the Suitcase Tag in the backyard then continue along your path, past the sixth and seventh homes.

The eighth house can also be passed by. Move along the outside of the blocked off area with men with plungers, and beyond the ninth house (with the Cobweb and Hatbox), to the Graveyard. You cannot enter the Graveyard at this time, as it's protected by men with Flower Instruments. However, it's good to note, and there are many items surrounding the Graveyard, including a Vault and Dufflebag. When you're done with your Graveyard work, hop over to the next street.

The tenth house is begging for a Watering Can. You don't have one yet, so move on. Enter the garden area to your right. Take the path to the right, move through the door, and speak to the Crow. He'll disappear, but he'll leave behind a Crow Feather. Check out the Crow Feather in your items menu. Note the Clairvoyant Eye icon above it. This means that if you equip the item you can activate your Clairvoyant Badge and see through the eyes of the creature who left the item behind. So, go ahead and hold up the feather and activate the badge. This will give you a bird's eye view of yourself in the garden. Run through the open gate and note the main gate closes. Hmmm. You can't have that. Open up the gate again, then jump over the small gate so the main gate remains open. You can now exit out of your Clairvoyant state and run through the main gate. Here is where you'll find the Flowers, which means you can now infiltrate the Graveyard. Return to the Graveyard and enter the blocked off area.

The Milkman's Grave is in the back right corner of the Graveyard, covered in a thorney vine. Burn the vine then break down the door behind it. Inside you'll find a Rifle. Collect it. Upon doing so you'll be arrested and taken back to the beginning of the Neighborhood. That's fine. Simply make your way back to where you left off, just past the garden area, as you need to find a way to Take the sewers to the book depository.

There's not much to note in any of the remaining homes, beyond a few Figments, the Dufflebag Tag and a Cobweb. So, collect what you want as you travel to the very end where you'll come upon the Post Office.

Before dealing with the actual Post Office, bash open the trunk of the car parked outside to collect the Watering Can. If you want, take it back to the Tenth House, where you will find a Rolling Pin. The Rolling Pin allows you to collect the Ammo Up upgrade in the fifth house (along with a few Figments), which was blocked off by the men with Hedge Trimmers. But, again, this is all for the bonuses, and is not vital to the objective at hand. Collect them or don't collect them, but, when you're ready to move along, approach the front door of the Post Office and try to open the door. You'll be shown a Security Pad. Guess at the code, which, unless you're incredibly lucky, will be incorrect.

Upon entering the incorrect code into the Post Office Security Pad, a guard will come out. When he does, use your Clairvoyant powers on him to see through his eyes. Take note of the code he punches into the Security Pad, then, when the guard re-enters the Post Office, use the same code on the Security Pad to let yourself in.

Inside the Post Office collect what's in front of you (including the Suitcase) and pass through the door covered by a Cobweb. You'll find yourself in darkness. Use your Clairvoyant powers to look through the eyes of the cameras to guide yourself to the far end of the room, which is where you'll find the Plunger. If you have trouble moving straight in this room, as the camera angles do get tricky, use your footprints to help guide your further.

With the Plunger in hand, exit the Post Office. Your goal is to make your way back to the area with the Plunger men guarding the open manhole. However, just outside the Post Office, you'll run into a spot of trouble: A Nightmare.

Nightmares should be looked at as mini-bosses. They have a meter, but they're not tough to defeat. I suggest hopping on your Levitation Ball and using it to jump above, then come down on or near the Nightmare with a hard punch (or punches, if you've found the upgrade). Just be sure to get out of his way immediately upon doing so (or try to come down on his back side), or you'll be pulled underground with him. Continue to work down his meter until it runs out. At this point the Nightmare will break apart revealing an opening in its body and many Nightmare balls. Use your Telekenisis to pick up one of those balls and toss it into the Nightmare's opening. Do this quickly, or the Nightmare's meter will fully refill, forcing you to go through the process again. When a ball is successfully tossed into the Nightmare, the Nightmare will turn to stone. Punch it to shatter it. Nightmare over. Hop into the blue light and return to the Neighborhood.

Now is the time to make your way back through the streets of the Neighborhood to the area with the Plunger men guarding the open manhole.

You'll emerge in front of the guarded book depository. Your goal is to Get inside the book depository. Note the sniper in the book depository. This sniper is not your friend. With that being said, arm your Rifle to enter the protected area, then equip your Shield Badge and begin working your way toward the depository (I suggest going along one of the sides). You will be targeted upon entering. The second the red laser sight hits you, activate that shield. Repeat until you get to the far end. Note the Steamer Trunk behind the depository, then enter via the Cobweb covered door.

Run up stairs and you'll find the sniper. After the cutscene you'll get a new goal: Get better view of entire neighborhood. Turn around and notice the RC choppers flying through the observatory. Find the Helicopter Helmet in the middle of the room, and, with the Helmet in hand, activate your Clairvoyance to view the Neighborhood through the eyes of an RC chopper. Stay with the vision through the end when you'll wake up to a ringing phone. Pick up the Phone. This is your final object on the path to the Milkman. Phew! Now you must Get inside the Milkman's Hideout.

Exit out of the depository, equip your Rifle, and run across the courtyard, back to the sewer and telephone pole. This is the telephone pole you must climb and ride to find the Milkman. Once you do, you'll be whisked back to the outside world. However, there's another pole worth checking out before you find that Milkman (if you care about collecting items that is), and that pole is back in the main part of the Neighborhood, near the beginning. So, if you want to collect these items (primarily a Maximum Projection Depth Increase, the Hatbox Tag, and a Vault), return through the sewer, to the pole, and ride the lines to the area with the goods. When you're done, return to the telephone pole in the book depository area and...fight the next Nightmare. Fight him just as you did the first time. When that's over, climb the telephone pole and ride its lines over to the Milkman's house. Look out for electrified poles along the way and jump to clear them.

Knock on the front door of the house and run for cover behind the garage. When the girl peeks out of the house, activate Invisibility, then wait for her to step outside to investigate further. At this point, quickly target and hit her with a Marksmanship shot, then slip inside. Note, if you don't have your Invisibility Badge yet, you can shoot her if you hide behind the telephone pole after you knock on the door. When the girl comes out to examine further, pop her. This is more difficult, but your only option if you don't have your Invisibility Badge yet.

Inside the house you'll discover some truths behind the weirdness that's protecting the Milkman. You'll end up in a fight with the Den Mother.

Boss Fight: Den Mother

During the first half of this battle, assign your Invisibility, your Marksmanship, and your Shield Badges to buttons. The Den Mother is going to place herself in one of four spots surrounding the Milkman Circle. Locate her, turn on Invisibility, then get close enough to her to hit her with a Marksmanship Shot. Stay away from the boxes of cookies she tosses at you, as they are bombs. If you accidentally get too close to one, quickly use your Shield for protection. When the Den Mother is hit, she'll move to another position. Repeat this process until the Den Mother's meter is halfway run out.

At this point the lights are going to go out in the area. Note the glowing square object in front of you. This is a God's Eye. Grab it then activate Clairvoyance. You'll be looking at yourself through the eyes of the Den Mother. Run toward her (the camera) to attack. As you get close to her, protect yourself from bomb boxes and the God's Eye attacks with your Shield. If you don't, you'll never defeat this lady. The second you get a chance (the best time is after she flings a God's Eye your way), pop the woman with a Marksmanship shot. Repeat until her meter completely runs out. At this point, the Milkman will rise and reek havoc in the Neighborhood. He will also open up the gates of the Asylum.
