Shrek the Third Game Guide



Immediately take on the Gnome who appears before you. When he's down, move up the path and continue fighting Gnomes as you make your way forward. Be sure to collect all Fairy Dust from the fallen Gnomes and Snowmen, as you must pull off two Ogre Power moves. Fight under the bridge (Ogre Power #1), then up the next path, where you'll encounter some Baby Dragons.

Fight the Baby Dragons, then cross the two bridges. Fight some more, then jump to the snow pillar with the gold coin on it. Continue to jump across the pillars to the Gnomes on the other side. The Gnomes will hide. Seek them out and destroy them. When all is clear, jump to the pillar to the right that has a gold coin on it, then work your way to the door. Move through it.

Here you must battle a Knight and a few Baby Dragons. If you haven't earned your finishing moves yet, this is a good place to do it . To defeat the white dragon, jump up to reach him, then punch him in mid-air. Move through the open door.

Fight the enemies and follow the Gnome down the tunnel, where you'll meet even more enemies. Take them out (Ogre Power #2), open the chest at the end of the hall, then move through the door to your right. From here, move left, then up the snow platforms. Pull the lever at the top, to raise the Gnome door, then backtrack through the tunnel. Look out for Knights and falling icicles as you go. At the end of the tunnel is the newly opened door. Pass through it.

Fight through the Gnomes to the door at the end. Pass through it for a Knight ambush. The Knights are fairly easy to defeat. Just keep punching. Eventually a Knight with a shield will drop down into the arena. Break his shield with the Strong Attack, then have at him.

Once all of the Knights have been defeated, a couple of ice blocks will fall. Jump on top of the right one, then jump on top of the ice pillar from which it fell. If you take too long and the ice melts, punch the pillar again to release more ice. From the top of the pillar jump to the tracks, then move along them to the left.

Fight off the Gnomes then pull the lever at the end of the tracks. Backtrack along the tracks to the now raised door and move through it. Continue along the tracks, then head outside.

Fight forward and fall onto the cliffs below. Jump from snow pillar to snow pillar, then up to Arthur, who is still waiting for you by the same door. Approach the door and open it.

From the beginning, head right, along the tracks. Fight off the Knights then speak to Arthur, who is standing next to the lake. Doing this will begin a cutscene that will present you with a new goal: Collect seven shoes. Easy enough.

Turn around and backtrack a few steps until you spot a shoe high and left. To reach it, punch the ice pillar next to the lake, then push the resulting cube beneath the shoe. Jump to Shoe #1.

Next, move along the tracks to the right. Punch the snowman in the back right corner to reveal Shoe #2. Next, punch the nearby ice pillar and move the block across the tracks beneath Shoe #3. Jump up to collect it.

Backtrack toward your entrance to this level. Locate Shoe #4 in a cave along the way, then fall off the cliff at the end. Use the ice pillar/block to reach Shoe #5.

Head right, fight the Knights (remember to use the strong attack to break the shields), then collect Shoe #6. Finally, use the snow pillars to collect Shoe #7. When this is complete, return to the lake (use an ice block to jump back up to your entrance area, then move down the ramp).

Once you reach the lake, hit your "Activate" button, and you'll be switched to Arthur. Run through the open door and fight your way down the tunnel. Once you emerge outside, head over the the switch (near the red coin) and activate it. Return through the tunnel and move through the open door to the large wood lift. Activate it.

Fight the many Gnomes and Dwarves who drop in on you as you ride to the bottom. Exit and move forward a couple of steps. Hop up the small cliffs to the well and activate it. Once you've spoken to the Lady of the Lake again, hop down, and continue along the path, fighting as you go, to the swinging platforms.

To reach the platforms, jump up to the low cliffs on the left side of the screen. There are many coins here. From this position, jump to the platform and ride it over to solid ground. Move right, then jump to the next swinging platform, and ride it to the Baby Dragon area. Take out the Dragons and note the nearby steam vents.

Watch as the platforms on the steam vents rise and fall. Wait for the first one to fall, then jump to it. Ride it up, then jump to the next one. Repeat.

Glitch alert! I had problems on the Xbox 360 version of the game actually jumping to the first steam vent. The game simply would not let me jump. To fix this, stand on the "full circle" pillar in the corner, close to the vent. Next, face the swinging platform as it comes your way. Step closer and closer to the platform until the camera changes, and you get a side shot of the platform. Once this happens, you'll be able to jump to the steam vent.


Once you reach the final platform, "Activate" it to ride it to the top. Hop off, then follow Shrek to the right. Fight the White Dragon and the Knights

Note, to complete the Dwarf Masher objective, just take out every Dwarf/Gnome you encounter. Doing this will ensure objective completion.

Note, you have a fairly tough battle ahead. If you can afford it, go ahead and purchase the Bonus Damage from the Gift Shop.

Head forward as Donkey, fighting Gnomes and Knights and busting snowmen as you go. If you're looking to clear the Finisher Quest, the time to get the finishing moves is now. The easiest way to do it is to perform Donkey's back kick (the strong attack button) on the Knights. When they land they will be ready to be finished off.

Once you reach the bottom of the cave you'll be switched to Artie. Again, fight your way down the tunnel to the bottom, where you will meet the Ice Dragon Mama.

To defeat the Ice Dragon Mama, use your block for protection, then, when you get the chance, jump and swing at her head. Note, you can hit the Ice Dragon anywhere on her body, but the head does seem to take the most damage. It is also my suggestion that you use the Strong Attack button, as it does seem to do more damage than the normal attack, and it's just as fast to pull off. I would also avoid the Power Attack, despite all of the Fairy Dust hidden in the surrounding snowmen. Unlike the Strong Attack, it takes quite some time to pull off, making you more vulnerable to an attack.

Finally, if you feel the need to run around the Ice Dragon, do so in a clockwise direction. It just works better. I don't know why.

Please note, this is a fairly tough battle, so you may need to fight it a few times. Block and be sure to collect the Food in the snowmen to recover health when necessary, and keep swinging.

Once you've run the Ice Dragon Mama's health out, she'll flap you to an upper ledge. Run along it until you find the door. Move through it to complete the level.

Prison Detention Center



Back to Sleeping Beauty. Head down the tunnel and exit outside. Continue beneath the archway, then take out the tree to the left. Once he's toast, look out for the oncoming Knight, clock him, then move forward to battle a couple more trees. Move through the left archway at the end of the path.

Carefully make your way down the next hall, as it is lined with stompers that will smoosh you if you stand beneath them. At the end of the hall there's a stomper with a hole beneath it. Wait for the stomper to rise, then fall in.

Run down the corridor, taking out Prisoners as you go. Eventually you'll come to a large room where you will be ambushed by several Prisoners and Knights. It's not difficult to defeat them. Just pick them off one by one. When the Cyclops comes down, fight him off as you did before (block, don't waste your Power Attack, and grab Food as necessary from the nearby crates).

When the Cyclops goes down, a cage will eventually drop. Push the cage up to the ledge, then use the cage to reach the ledge. Activate the switch on the right side, which will raise the gate below. Move through the gate and approach the stairs. Wait for the barrel to roll down, avoid it, then head up.

Move down the hall and into the next room. Fight off the many prisoners and approach the door. Use your Power Attack to blow kisses at the man on the other side, who will reward you by opening the door. Move through it.

Note, if you're going for finishing moves, the prisoners will continue to generate as long as you stay in the room. Blow kisses at them then hit them a couple of times to get the finishing prompt.


Again, wait at the bottom of the stairs until the barrels roll down, then head on up. Fight the Knight at the top, then make your way along the second stomper hall (Move under the first stomper as soon as it rises, and wait for the second one to rise. Move under it as soon as it does, then repeat until you reach the end).

Enter the room with the broken floor and jump your way across. Run down the next hall, fighting as you go. Hop down the hole at the end and float down, where you'll meet Fiona. Blow kisses at the guard on the opposite side of that gate to open the door.

As Fiona, fight the Knight then cruise down the hall. Use Fiona's "Special Ability" (aka Power Attack), to kick through the wooden door at the end of the hall (if you need more Fairy Dust, hit the statue in the left corner). Fight off the Knights, then use her Power Attack on both block to kick them over the two switches, thus raising the gate. Enter the next room.

Here you will find a switch puzzle of sorts. Hit one of the switches to reveal a new image. Repeat until you have the image you want. Match the switch images so they are in the same pattern as the images on the door to complete the level.

Forest Ambush

Fight off the first round of pirates and trees who approach. This is fairly easy and you should have little difficulty doing it. There's food in the tree stump to the left, but I suggest saving it for later. I also suggest you collect all of the Fairy Dust you can for later.

Once first round of enemies has been cleared, you'll face a second round...and a couple of cannons. As soon as you see the cannons fall, get yourself behind them, so they can't hit you. From this position, take out those who are attacking you (don't forget your strong attack to destroy the shields). Once you've taken them down, focus on cannons. Simply punch them until they break. Continue taking out enemies as they come. Now is a good time to grab the food, if you need it.

Finally, a third round of enemies will appear, as will three cannons. Again, stand behind the cannons while you take on the enemies, then break the cannons. At this point your Fairy Dust meter should be full (or close to it), so be sure to use your Ogre Power to make your job easier. Once all enemies and cannons are toast, hop onto the tree stump with Hook to complete the level.
