The Simpsons Game Guide - Gameplay, Land of Chocolate, Bartman Begins

Gameplay

Anytime that you encounter something new you are given a tutorial, so pay attention. I have also detailed anything tricky in the walkthrough, so if anything is confusing to you, just re-read that section.

While in Springfield you can select characters at Bus Stops. You can also warp between Bus Stops to get around town quickly.

Each episode has its own set characters (only one has all four), so don't worry about who you start the episode with. If it's somebody wrong, the game will tell you.

If you're ever confused about what you need to do just open the pause menu for a detailed list. This walkthrough also details each task.

And with that, go ahead and jump into the first episode, a hilarious tutorial that will get you warmed up for the main game.

Land of Chocolate

Follow the White Rabbit through the village

Before you follow the Rabbit, get a feel for your camera controls...look around and up and down. If anything feels weird you can fix it by going into the Pause Menu and selecting "Controls". Here you can adjust the Y-Axis and X-Axis to your liking.

Once you have everything adjusted, look for the white chocolate platform (orb of light above it) on the other side of the pretzel fence and jump to it. Continue to follow the in-game tutorial. When you get to the carts blocking your path, use Homer's Power Burp (which you just learned) to break through (or just punch through them). Continue to the Marge statue and destroy it in the same manner (or just punch it).

Marge Statues - Destroy Marge statues to stop enemies from regenerating.

Break the graham cracker gate

Break through the nearby gate and then destroy the three Marge statues and the remaining enemies.

Climb the cake and eat the White Rabbit

Locate the ice cream on the ground with the arrow and red button. Approach the red button and hit the button which it prompts you to hit. This will raise two ice cream sandwich platforms.

Climb the cake using Double Jumps when necessary. At the top, punch the Rabbit to destroy it.

Eat the chocolate bunnies

You'll then learn the Homer Ball which will cause you to fall through the cake. Now on the inside keep destroying bunnies (or just wait) until the dream (level) ends.

You'll unlock Bart.

Duff Bottle Caps

On the roof of the first house with a white chocolate jumping platform.
On the roof of the second house with a white chocolate jumping platform.
On the second level (brown level) of the cake.
Inside the cake, up on the side wall. Use the Forward Burst button (look at the bottom left of the screen to see the proper button) to roll up the wall.
Break the chocolate bunny head inside the cake to reveal it.

Cliches

Double Jump - Double jump repeatedly until you trigger this cliche.

Time Trial Tips

Don't attack any enemies, just run through the level like crazy.

Go to the Sequel Stop

Head to the blue light.

Bartman Begins

Find the temple

This is your first episode with Bart. You'll be taught how to use the Slingshot. Be sure that you learn how to Target Slingshot (look in the bottom left of the screen with your Slingshot equipped). Break the crates and proceed forward.

Cross the chasm

Step on the left side pressure plate with Bart and then climb the platforms it reveals. When you get to the scaffold, switch to Homer and have him step onto the right side pressure plate. Switch back to Bart and proceed. You'll learn how to utilize Bartman's cape.

Jump and glide down to the central column and step onto the pressure plate to extend a bridge.

Find the secret entrance to the museum

As Bart, climb the vines on the right and head over to the trampoline. Kick it down. Switch to Homer and use the trampoline to jump up to Bart. Step on the pressure plate (Bart will automatically go to the other one).

Drop the dinosaur bones on Dolph

Climb the ladder on the Dinosaur. Have Homer stand on or near the head to raise up the Dino's tail. Switch to Bart and glide from the raised tail to the wall separating the rooms. Glide down to the next room. (If Homer and Bart keep jumping back up to the platform above the Dino making the tilting/gliding impossible, make sure that all of the guards are taken out and then retry.)

Operate the lever near the volcano and ride the steam up using the cape. Land on the wing of the Pterodactyl which will end up bouncing you to a wire. Move forward along the wire, fall down onto the tree and jump your way up to the blue light.

From this position, lock-on to the red target above the dinosaur behind the glass. Shoot your Slingshot at that target to collapse the bones onto dolph. This also opens the next door.

Get into the History of Man exhibit

Go forward and step into the "Zap the Past" on the right to turn into "Robo Bart". Lock-on to and then fire your laser at the door switch terminal on the left side, through the glass.

Frighten Kearney through the diorama

Turn into "Robo Bart" using the "Zap the Past" station on the left of the early man exhibit. Shoot each of the targets from left to right to scare Kearney. Go through the glass door that opens.

In the Roman exhibit, shoot the middle target first to lower the bridge and then scare Kearney along the path. Next, scare him through the Civil War exhibit. Finally, shoot or punch him until he is knocked out.

Get into the Planetarium

Take out the guards, climb the wall as Bart, switch to Homer and activate the middle rocket engine. Switch back to Bart and glide across the three engines. Make your way to the pole and then jump from it across the planets. Get to UFO and Jimbo will bust out.

Head back to the ground and beat up Jimbo. You may want to stun him with the slingshot first.

On the left side of the temple at the base of a statue.
Step on the left side pressure plate at the far end of the bridge as Bart. Switch to homer and go through the secret door on the left.
In the small room off of the room with the Dinosaur bones (go up either set of stairs to get to it).
In the pioneer exhibit. Go through the hole in the wall to get it.
On the wing of the upside-down space shuttle. After Bart lowers the pole, Homer has access to it. Use it to get up.
On the satellite touching Earth. Again, use the pole to get to the platform surrounding Earth. Walk over to the satellite to find it.

Break the first crate in the episode.
