Introduction, The Beginning of the End and Hazard Room

Welcome to Lunabean's Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves Walkthrough and Strategy Guide. This guide will walk you through the single-player story mode of Sly 3, while providing you with great strategies along the way. The walkthrough is quite detailed, so there are only a few topics to cover in this introduction. Expect everything else to be answered as you encounter it, in the game and the walkthrough.
Controls vary based on the character you're playing with, and, if there's a vehicle involved, the vehicle you're controlling. If you have a question about your controls, go into your Start Menu and select "Control Help". To reverse the "X" or "Y" axis for your controls, go to the Start Menu > "Options" > "Camera Options", then select "Up/Down: Reversed" or "Left/Right: Reversed".
You can purchase gadgets by going into Bentley's "Thief-Net" while in the Safehouse. Instead of selecting a character, select Bentley's computer and a list of "gadgets" will be shown to you, each indicating which character will benefit from the gadget. Some gadgets are automatically assigned, others will require you to hit the "Select" button and assign said gadget to a specific button. The gadgets you can by will increase in number and cost as you go through the game.
Sly 3 has a 3-D option built into it. As you play through chapters for the first time, you'll be told when a 3-D opportunity is ahead of you. Here, you can take the option to put on the glasses that came with the game, or you can select "No thanks". Once you complete an entire chapter, you can go back to its "Jobs and Challenges" Menu and replay through all of the levels in 3-D. If my TV were larger and flat, perhaps the 3-D option wouldn't have hurt my eyes. But, because my TV is what it is, it did hurt my eyes and didn't work very well.
There is no difference between the 3-D game and the normal game when it comes to the walkthrough.

When you complete the single-player story mode portion of the game, you'll only be in the 50% range of completion. To get to 100%, go into that same "Jobs and Challenges" menu for each chapter, and play through the Master Thief Challenges. I started off writing a little guide for the challenges, then I realized that the challenges are all tasks you worked through in the level's story mode. The only difference is you have to complete them with certain goals in mind (aka time limits, little damage, etc.). Point being, any tips I could provide to get through the Master Thief Challenges go something like this: Do what I told you to do in the story mode walkthrough, but do it better and faster.
Also note, once you complete the 5th Episode, a new Master Thief Challenge will open up for you in each level. If you're trying to 100% complete each episode before moving on, don't. It's impossible. It can't happen until you complete the 5th Episode's story mode.

Go into "Two Player" to find your multiplayer options for the game. The multiplayer games are fairly straight forward. If you need guidance, go into your Start Menu and select "Job Help".
You'll be immediately tossed into gameplay. Your goal is to reach the Cooper Vault. Run down the path and note the truck on your left. Hop on top of it with "X", then approach the rope. Jump again ("X"), then, while in midair, hit "O". You will land beautifully on the rope. Run up it and jump to dismount. Move left, and hop on the wire leading to the secured island. You'll slide right down. Again, jump to dismount.
Jump up the cliff and work your way left. You'll see some sparkles along a narrow ledge. Approach them and you'll automatically move across the ledge while you remove certain distractions. Jump to the next platform and wait for the radio tower to fall. Jump, hit "O", then walk across the tower to the top of the small building. Move up to the cliffs and move left, through the cobwebs, then to the grassy area below. Jump down again, this time to the vent. This will trigger another cutscene. Enter the destroyed vent.
Hit "Square" to hit the obstacles in your way, and "X" to jump over the electrical barriers. Destroy the fan at the end of the tunnel with "Square".
Head up the pipes. Wait at the laser barriers until they are destroyed, then repeat. After the second laser barrier, jump over to the platform to your right. You'll discover that you are on top of an elevator. Remain still as you ride it up and listen to the conversation beneath you. At the top, move forward and jump onto the wire leading to the above tower. Run up to that tower, and hop on the platform. Move up to the sparkles and hold "O". Continue to hold "O" as you move around the platform's ledge. Let go at the next platform, then hop onto the spring and land on the tower's rooftop. Here you will be spotted.

Quickly jump onto the rope and run down it. Jump to th next rope and run down to the security system. Hit "O" to begin deactivation. You will be told to enter the code 1-2-3. Move you control stick up and down to change numbers then side to side to move to the next number. Successful code entry will result in a shutdown of the security system, along with a quick introduction to your nemeses.
After the cutscene, Bentley will appear. He tells you it's time to regroup. Move across the ropes, toward him. From the platform, jump to the next rope and you'll meet up with the injured turtle. Follow him down the elevator shaft, then hop across the water by using the floating platforms. Hop onto the spring at the end, then follow Bentley up the tunnel. When you emerge, Bentley will be captured by the enemy. You must fight the enemy...kind of.
You can't defeat the enemy here, but you do have to try. Run across the downed pipe and try to take a whack at the baboon controlling the bot. You'll, most likely, be tossed to the other side. Repeat until you get a cutscene, which will finish up this introductory level.
On top of the crates you'll be taught to look up and down with your right control stick. Look at the two markers. If this is awkward for you, hit "Start" > "Options" > "Camera Options", then select "Up/Down: Reversed". You can do the same with Left/Right, too. Next, you must reach the waypoints in the area. To do so, ping them, then move/jump to them. It's that easy. Upon completion, hit the next switch.
Next up, skilled jumping. Like the rope walking before, all you have to do to land on a spire is jump ("X"), then hit "O" while in mid-air. Jump across the spires to the platform across the way. Next, you'll be taught to crawl. Approach the low opening and hit "O". You'll automatically enter the crawl space. Move forward to the other side and you'll complete this part of the tutorial. Move through the door with "O".
After your first mission in "An Opera of Fear", you'll get the opportunity to come back here for more tutorials. Simply follow the directions given to you and you'll make it though the hazard room just fine. There's nothing I can tell you that the game doesn't.
