2. The Goblin Army - Finding Lucinda
Back as Jared, collect Sprite Net, which is across from the dumbwaiter in the study. As soon as you pick it up you'll be told how to select it. Simply hit your "Change between weapon and net" button ("L1" on the PS2) to do just this. Swing it as you would a weapon.
Capture a health Sprite

With your Sprite Net in hand, run out the front door and make your way to the front gate (follow the driveway from the Garage to the Gate). Here you'll spot a green-glowing sprite. Swing your Net to capture it, at which point you'll be told to paint the Sprite. To do this, move the paintbrush cursor over the middle of the sheet of paper, then hold down the indicated "Paint" button ("X" on the PS2). This will reveal an image of the Sprite below it. Your goal is to reveal the Sprite before time runs out. This is hard to do if you get lost in the details. Instead, don't worry too much about the details and realize the paint bleeds, so areas you don't perfectly paint over will still be revealed if you just get close to it. In other words, a quick sweep over the entire area should be enough to reveal the faerie. If you fail, catch the Sprite and try again.
Once successful, you'll find that you have discovered a Leathering Sprite. For every two you catch and paint, your health will increase. The Sprite also has the ability to refill your health. Note the "Health" button now in the top right corner of your screen. Hit it to use your little Sprite friend.
Now that you know how to capture Sprites, do so anytime you come across one.
Through the Woods
Hunt for Simon/Find the Quarry
Make your way toward the open gate, which is behind the garage. On your way there you'll run into your first few Goblins. Switch to a weapon (your bat) and swing it at the little monsters. Also, make use of the "Evade" button ("Square" on the PS2). Upon defeating the Goblins you'll be left with Goblin Teeth. Collect them to unlock new attacks.
Continue along your path and enter the Forest Road. Move along it, taking out Goblins and catching Sprites as you go. Move under the fallen tree, then up the path to the right. Continue straight and through the field at the top. The road will start back up on the opposite side. Move down it, then head right to make your way to the Old Quarry.
Along the way you'll pass another sign pointing to the Quarry, then you'll run into a dead end. Return to that sign then note the dirt road across from it. Take it to the stone platforms, then follow them to the right. Jump to the path and move forward to the log. Push it. Backtrack to the aforementioned dead end, which is no longer a dead end. Cross the log.
Move along the path to the end and enter the Quarry.
Quarry Walls
Find a Fuse
Run forward along the path to the dead end, and grab the Fuse from the box outside of the shed.
Place the fuse/Extend the bridge
Backtrack a few feet, then move up the path to the right. Take it up to the stone ledges and work your way around to the left. Eventually you'll reach a shed rooftop. Climb down the ladder then break the planks covering the doorway. Inside you'll find the Aluminum Bat and a control panel. You can't do anything with the panel right now, so, exit out and drop down to the path below.
Continue dropping until you reach the Fuse Box. Insert the Fuse you found earlier into it, the return to the shed and activate the Control Panel to extend the bridge. Cross it.
Note the drawbridge, then take the ladder down for a cutscene with a Hobgoblin.
Free Hogsqueal
Take the winding path down to the water. Move straight across and stand atop the stone platform. Face the structure holding up Hogsqueal and note the propeller. Use your slingshot to shoot off the three wings, thus lowering Hogsqueal. Return to him and open his cage.
Escape the Goblin Camp
Find Jared
Simon is without a weapon, which means you'll have to evade your enemies (if you're grabbed by one, shake your "Move" control stick to shake them off). However, before doing this, grab the Goblin Spit Wheel behind you. Next, run past the pit and up the steep hill beyond it.
At the top of the hill you should recognize your surroundings, as you grabbed the fuse from the shed to the left just a short time ago. Take the left path to the Forest Road and you'll encounter a cutscene.
Feed the Troll
Lure Goblins to Troll
The easiest way to lure the Goblins to the Troll is to, simply, run at the Troll. Sure, he'll grab onto you, but, if you shake your "Move" control stick for a quick release, you'll take no damage. The same can't be said for the little Goblins.
Lure 10 Goblins to complete the task.
Twin Aid
Protect Simon
Simply run alongside Simon and fight off anyone who comes your way. Watch Simon's health meter. If it empties, you'll fail the objective.
Follow Simon all of the way to the Mansion grounds, then continue protecting him until the cutscene.
Sister's Steel
Find Mallory
Per usual, Mallory is in the Gazebo. Run to her to complete the objective.
Redcap
Redcap
As Mallory, take on Redcap. To defeat him, wait for him to strike, then immediately strike back. This will free Redcap of his weapon, and allow you a chance to get several hits in. Repeat this process until the cutscene.
The Splattergun

You're going to have to evade Goblins as you search for the parts for your own weapon. Below you will find the locations of all parts. Collect them in any order.
Bicycle Pump
In the attic, on the floor.
Soda Bottle
Kitchen, inside garbage can.
Duct Tape
Inside the Garage.
Hose Nozzle
Outside, on a workbench in front of the birdhouse garden.
Old Pipe
Second floor bathroom, on bathtub.
Vinegar
In the secret study, on desk.
Oatmeal
Inside the Kitchen, on counter.
Salt
Second floor, on the shelves at the top of the stairs.
Tomato Sauce
Kitchen, on shelf.
Workbench
Once all items have been collected, bring them to the workbench in the Study to assemble your Splattergun.
Burn the Field Guide
Salamander
There's a Fire Salamander behind the Garage. Once you locate it, use your new Splatter Gun on it (pull it out as you would any other weapon, then use the same "Swing/Fire" button to use it). Your Splatter Gun will put out the flaming lizard, allowing you to pick the little guy up. Once you have one (note, your checklist may not indicate that you've caught one), return to Jared, who is outside near the trash can.
Note, I ran into a small glitch here where the Salamander disappeared after I sprayed it. If this happens to you, simply move along the Forest Road and cross the log bridge. Eventually you'll come to another Salamander.
Barrel
Jared is standing next to a barrel. Place your salamander in the barrel for a new scene.
Finding Lucinda
Buried Key
Shovel
First, locate the Shovel, which is inside the Garden Shed (the Garden Spade).
Take the Shovel to Jared
Do just this...he's still outside the Mansion.
Protect Jared
Use your SplatterGun on the attacking Goblins as you protect Jared, who is looking for the treasure. If Jared is required to dole out his own protection, he'll lose count and have to start over. To keep this from happening, don't worry about actually eliminating the Goblins, as doing so is too time consuming. Instead, simply hit them once or twice to keep them away from Jared, then turn your focus to any other oncoming Goblins. Note, it's also important that you remain close to Jared, or you may not see the Goblins as they get close to him. Finally, if you continue having trouble here, collect the Bellflower Sprite near the Gazebo and use it's "Damage Boost" power to quickly eliminate the Goblins.
Follow Jared to the buried key in front of the cellar, then open the cellar door.
Explore Cellar
Before breaking the planks with your bat, catch and draw the red Royal Orchid Sprite. Once this is done, go ahead and open up the tunnel. Move down it until you reach a quick cutscene.

Read the Riddle pinned to the tree, which speaks of "Frog Chairs". Hmm...sounds a lot like Toad Stools, doesn't it? Stand on the mound in the middle of the room and create some Toad Stools via the Royal Orchid Sprite. This will raise the mound and create a glow in the window.
Will-O-Wisp
If you don't have a Will-O-Wisp on you, exit the cellar and collect one outside (there's one immediately on the Forest Path if you can't find one on the Estate Grounds). They're the big, fat, greenish-yellow Sprites. Stand on the mound and use it once you have it. Doing so will lower the vines covering the boulders.
Flower Sprite
Specifically, what you need here is a Bellflower Sprite. If you don't have one on you, exit the cellar and collect one outside, near the Gazebo. Once you have one, activate it to increase power in your bat, then shatter the boulders.
Tunnels
Escape Tunnels
Run forward, jump the gap, then take the left path. Work your way to the group of Goblins, fight them, then head left.
Jump the gaps and make your way forward to the cutscene. When it's over, you'll be asked to run from the monster. Do just that. Run forward and jump the gap to the left (your right), then continue along the path, staying ahead of the beast. Always keep an eye on what's in front of you, as you'll have to jump in different directions to continue moving forward.
Eventually you'll reach the end of the path and a small opening. You'll automatically crawl through it. Continue straight ahead and you'll fall down...to the monster! Continue running forward until you reach another cutscene.
