To the Obelisk and Sphinx Room



Run forward to the pit at the end of the tunnel, then safely fall down into it. Checkpoint.

Move the crate from the back left corner, and collect the Shotgun Ammo and Small Medipack in the alcove behind it. Next, use your grapple to pull the gold rings on the two corner pillars. The top of the right pillar will fall and disappear. The top of the left pillar will fall and all but a tall block will disappear. Checkpoint.

Climb the block then jump to the wall ledge. Pull yourself up and grab the Small Medipack. Make your way up and left. Jump to the horizontal bar above your original entrance to the pillar slide across the way. Slide down (almost to the bottom) then jump for the broken pillar. Shimmy around it, then cross the horizontal bars to the top of the other broken pillar. From here, use the wall ledges to reach the above alcove. Checkpoint.

Jump to the top of the scarab lever, then to the above ledge. Pull yourself up and move left. Slide down the slide, then jump to the horizontal bar. Swing to the next scarab lever and jump up. Run to the end of the hall. Checkpoint.

Enter the room and take out the Panther. Collect the Shotgun Ammo. Jump up and through the exit. Before moving through the exit, use the wall ledges to the left to make your way to a secret Large Medipack. When that's complete, arm your Shotgun, then exit for a cutscene...followed by a Mummy battle.

The Obelisk and Sphinx Room



Pick up the 50 Caliber Pistol Ammo, then shoot at the Pharaoh Mummies with your Shotgun. They'll each go down with 3 to 5 direct hits. Next, head to the corner opposite your entrance and climb the two broken pillars up to the top. Checkpoint.

Jump to the long platform and shoot the gold button. Jump to the resulting horizontal bar, then run and grab the 50 Caliber Pistol Ammo. Continue to work your way around, using the platforms to reach the ladder behind the damaged Sphinx. Hop onto the Sphinx head, then use the grapple hook to reach the next platform. Continue to work your way around the perimeter of the room to the ledge before the undamaged Sphinx. Look right and slide down the slide, so you end up behind the big guy. Pull the lever. Checkpoint.

The Room Six Massive Statues



Slide down and move through the now open door at the base of the undamaged Sphinx. At the end of the hall you'll come to a room with six sitting statues...and two Panthers. Take out the Panthers, then run to the far end of the hall. Pull the lever. Don't let the movement of the statues distract you, as you will have two more Panthers coming your way. EEK. Take them out, then run to the cages from which they emerged and collect the Shotgun Ammo.

Pull that lever on the far end again, and watch as the statues come together. Run back to your entrance and use the nearby piece of rubble to reach the first statue on the right side. Jump to the second statue, which, if you moved fast enough, will still be close to the statue across the way. Jump to it. Finally, jump to the third statue on the left side. From here, use the grapple hook to reach the wall ledge, then drop down. Shimmy right, then jump to the top of the scarab gate and QUICKLY jump straight up to catch the above ledge. From here, make your way right, to the open door. Pull yourself up and move through it. Checkpoint.

Move down the hall and the slide. Eliminate the Rats, then move the crate out from the wall. Collect the Small Medipack from the small alcove, then push the crate to the end of the hall. Collect the Small Medipack here, then use the crate to reach the above ledge.

Run down the next hall and jump into the pit for some Shotgun Ammo. Return to the top via the wall ledges, then cross over the pit by using the horizontal bars. You'll land on the scarab lever. If you need to recover, do so ("Triangle" on the PS2), then immediately jump to catch the above ledge. Pull yourself up. Checkpoint.

Fall down into the cat statue room, and immediately pop the two Crocs. When they're down, run down his tunnel beneath the entrance for the Small Medipack, then return to the pool area. Before jumping in, run to the back left corner of the room, behind the three pillars. Look for the high opening and pull yourself into it. Grab the Shotgun Ammo and Small Medipack, then return to the pool. Hop in and swim straight down to the lever. Pull it, then move through the open fence. Surface. Dive down again to locate the 50 Caliber Pistol Ammo, then resurface and pull yourself up to the platform. Checkpoint.

Room of Water and Ledges



Use the scarab lever to reach the wall ledge, then jump to the right platform. Quickly pull yourself up, then run and jump to the retracting platform on the opposite side. Jump to the wall ledges. Next. make your way up and left, then jump to the platform behind you. Run to the far end before it full retracts, and jump to the scarab ledge to the wall ledge. Jump to the small platform to the right, then run up the stairs.

Jump to the vertical pole to the scarab lever, to the top wall ledge. From here, jump backwards to the top of the vertical pole, then hop into the alcove. Collect the 50 Caliber Pistol Ammo then pull the lever. A crate will fall in the room with the retracting platforms.

Use the vertical pole to jump to the Large Medipack and 50 Caliber Pistol Ammo across the way, then slide down and grab the Small Medipack from the ground. Return to the retracting platform room. Checkpoint.

Drop down and make your way to the crate. Note the platforms are no longer retracting. Nice. Push the crate to the opposite side, then right. Crawl on top of it and jump to the wall ledge. Jump up, then backwards to the next platform. Run across it before it retracts fully, then quickly jump to the scarab lever, then up. Jump to the next scarab lever and up again. Work your way around to the left and jump into the alcove. From here, use the grapple to grab the ring of the door directly across from you. Pull it until you can't pull anymore. Next, quickly use the grapple hook to swing to the door before it closes, and enter the alcove. Pull the lever. Checkpoint.

Step out and jump to the hanging portion of ceiling to the right. Climb to the top, then use the horizontal pole behind you to swing out of the pit. Pull the lever to drop the floor beneath the cat statue, then run through the door and overlook the cat statue room. Checkpoint.

Use the grapple hook to your left to wall run to the ledge. From here, jump backwards to the grapple hook behind you and lower yourself down. Take out the two Crocs, then jump down the new pit surrounding the cat statue and make your way down the hall to the end. Checkpoint.

The Base of the Obelisk



Arm your Shotgun and fall into the room below. Quickly eliminate the three Panthers, then grab the Large Medipack from the open cage. Use the lever on the closed cage to let free the other two Panther, then kill them (hey, at least they got to taste freedom, if only for a second). Checkpoint



Stand in front of the cage you just opened and climb the wall ledges to the left of it. From the top, jump to the scarab ledge on the cage to the ledge on the central pillar behind you. Continue up and right, then back to the wall. Climb up, then jump back to the central statue. Pull yourself up to the platform at the base of the obelisk.

Face left and target lock the button across the way. Shoot it to drop a grapple ring, then swing across to collect the Large Medipack and 50 Caliber Pistol Ammo. Swing back to the obelisk platform, then move through the doorway on the other side.

Arm yourself and run down the hall. A panther will meet you at the end. Take him out then enter the next room. Run straight across, jump onto the small ledge, then pull yourself through the above opening. Climb the ladder. MUMMY! Eek. Take him out.

Scarab Scale Puzzle



When that's complete, take note of the scarab scale (you'll be back), then run into the sandy area to the ledge to collect the Large Medipack and 50 Caliber Pistol Ammo from the corner blocks. Cross the way and climb the ladder up. Pull the levers to bring the six statues together. Checkpoint.

Jump to the first statue on the right, then jump left. Jump to the second statue on the left, then jump right. Jump to the third statue on the right, then catch the ledge. Move fast, or the ledges will retract.

Head left, grab the Large Medipack, then pull the lever. Backtrack to the scarab scale. Checkpoint.

Again, climb the two block in the sand, then jump to the grapple hook, but don't wall run. Instead, pull yourself up to the base of the cage, then jump to the too of the pillar behind you. Move to the pillar to the right, then to the wall ledge. Shimmy right (quick, or the wall will crumble), then jump down to the horizontal bar attached to the scale. This action will open the floor below, releasing much sand. Drop down. Checkpoint.

Use the ledges to work your way down to the new sandpile, then move through the doorway above it. Run down the hall for a checkpoint.

Obelisk Puzzle



In front of you are four obelisks. From left to right, let's call them Obelisk #1, Obelisk #2, Obelisk #3, and Obelisk #4. Along the perimeter of the room are many movable blocks. Let's move some blocks.

From the entrance (back to door), head right. Pull out the first block and enter the room behind it. Collect the Shotgun Ammo. Pull out block number two. This will raise Obelisk #3, exposing several paintings. Enter the room behind block number two and look at the painting on the wall. Next, return to Obelisk #3 and find that painting. Rotate the obelisk until it is lined up with the gold line in the middle. It will lock into place. OK. One down, three to go.

Pull out block number three. Nothing much to speak of there, so turn the corner to block number four. Pull it and immediately jump on top of it. Kill the Panther (scare ya?) and note Obelisk #1 has risen. Check out the painting on the wall, collect the Shotgun Ammo, then turn the obelisk to the correct position.

Run across the doorway and pull out block number five. This will raise the Obelisk #4. Match up paintings, then move to block number six, behind which you'll discover 50 Caliber Pistol Ammo. Pull out block number seven. First and foremost, look out for the Panther. Next, rotate Obelisk #2 into the right spot (although, it should rise in the correct positions, making the door open upon moving the block). When all obelisks are in position, the door will open. Pull the final block for 50 Caliber Pistol Ammo, then exit out the newly opened door to complete the chapter.

Lowering the First Bridge



Enter this large obelisk room and go right. Pull the lever and cross the lowered bridge to a glowing object. Collect the Eye of Horus. Checkpoint.

Lowering the Second Bridge



Jump into the pool of water below, and swim to the open doorway. Move through it and head down the hall, avoiding the wall smashers as you go. At the end you'll come to a room with a lone staircase. Checkpoint.

Climb the staircase then jump to the gold ring. This will lower a platform across the way. Jump down, grab the Shotgun Ammo, then reach that platform before it returns to its original position. Ride it up.

Jump to the horizontal pole, then to the wall ledges. Climb up, then jump to the platform behind you. Quickly move as the platform retracts, then jump to the stable platform in the corner. From here, make a running jump to the platform in the middle of the room. From here, jump to the platform to the right, with the lone pillar on it. Use the ledge's in the pillar to climb up, then jump back to the pillar behind you. Shimmy around the top and jump to the third pillar, then shimmy right and jump up. From here, jump to the wall, then to the horizontal bar, then to the platform. Checkpoint.

Run to the far end of the platform and make your way up the wall ledges. Jump to the platform behind you, pull yourself up fast, then jump to the platform across the way. Shimmy right, then pull yourself up and drop to the other side. Shimmy left. Jump up to the pillar, then jump to the next one. Drop down and shimmy around the pillar until you can pull yourself up. Run and jump to the wall ledges and make your way all of the way left. Jump back to grapple and wall run to the next wall ledge. (Note, if you're having trouble reaching the ledge, run back and forth along the wall to gain more height, then go for it).

Make your way left, then jump to the pillar. Shimmy around to the opposite side and jump to the next pillar. Climb it to the top and pull yourself up, avoiding the arrow as you go. Jump from the top of the pillar to the platform, then jump to the horizontal bar to the left, then to the platform across the way. Collect the Large Medipack and move through the door. Checkpoint.

Arm yourself and run up the hall. Kill the Mummy. Checkpoint. Fall into the pit to collect the Small Medipack and Shotgun Ammo, then climb out and cross via the horizontal poles. Jump as soon as you touch each horizontal pole, or you won't make it. From the scarab ledge, jump up the shimmy and jump left. Run up the stairs, then along the wall smasher hall. You'll emerge high in the large obelisk room. Checkpoint.

Use the wall ledges to the right, then the horizontal pole to reach the lever. Pull it and a second bridge will lower and the gate across from you will raise. Checkpoint.

Lowering Bridge #3



Ignore the bridge for now and backtrack to your high entrance, then continue along the wall ledges to the now open hall. Run forward and you'll soon encounter some spinning blades. Watch them and wait for them to retract, then run through. Watch them again at the pit, then jump through them. Continue to the end of the hall.

Slide down to the bottom of the room and fight the Mummy. Collect the Shotgun Ammo and two Small Medipacks, then jump into the right block alcove and pull the lever to reveal some stairs and raise some gates. Checkpoint.

Hop back down and pull the crate from its alcove. Collect the Small Medipack behind it, then use the crate to reach the above wall ledges. Use the grapple hook to the left and wall run to the scarab ledge, then jump up and left. Run along the platform (collect the 50 Caliber Pistol Ammo and Small Medipack as you go), then jump to the wall ledges to the right.

Use the grapple to the left to run across the wall here (look out for the blade beneath as you cross), then, again, jump to the scarab ledge then the one above it. Note the ledge above you that you can't quite reach? That's what the grapple hook is for. Grapple and wall run left. Go as far as you can, then return to the right. You will be higher now, so jump to that wall ledge. From here, jump up, then grapple across the two blades to the ledge across the way. Pull yourself up and you'll find yourself back at the top of the room. Checkpoint.

Jump to the grapple hook and wall run to the next grapple hook. Wall run back and forth here for height, and jump to the tiny platform in the corner. Use the wall ledges above it to reach the doorway. Move through it and run down the hall to the lever at the end. Down goes bridge #3. Checkpoint.

Back to the Obelisk



Backtrack to the slide room and use the grapple hook in the ceiling to swing to the other side. Shimmy right, then move down the stairs to the bottom of the room. Checkpoint.

Run down the open hall, avoid the wall smashers, and jump to the top of the vertical pole. Wait until the blades retract, then quickly jump across the next two poles. Continue forward. Collect the Small Medipack. Collect the Small Medipack, then grab the glowing object in the Obelisk. This is the Seal of Anubis. Checkpoint.

Turn around and jump to the horizontal pole to your left. Make your way to the platform, run past the raised bridge, grab the Shotgun Ammo and Small Medipack, then use the horizontal poles to reach the next bridge. Grab the Small Medipack, then the Ankh of Isis from the Obelisk. Checkpoint.

Lowering Bridge #4



Run down the hall behind you and move past the blades (crouching and rolling work well here). Jump across the pit, and continue to avoid the obstacles as you run to the next room. Checkpoint.

Enter the room and look left. Note the gold symbol above you. Ignore this. Do not touch it. Doing so will only activate the room's spinning blades, and no one wants that. So, instead, look down and jump to the top of the pillar. Use the ledges to safely drop down the right side, then the grapple hook to reach the platform in the corner. Pull out a gun and aim at the Mutant Mummies below. When they're dead, hop down to the ground and climb the wall ledges to the door beneath your entrance. Checkpoint.

Run down the hall, avoiding the many obstacles as you go (roll under and/or jump over the blades, then jump across the pit avoiding the wall smashers). At the end you'll reach a barred area. Pull the lever to drop the 4th bridge. Backtrack.

Note, getting past the pit is a bit tougher on the way back as you'll need to be precise with your pole top jumping. Jump to the first pole top when it's clear, then wait for the wall smasher to cover the second pole. Right before it retracts, jump at it. You will land atop the second pole before the one your were on is smashed. Repeat with the third.


Back in the room of many ledges, jump to the platform to the right, then make your way along wall, all of the way left. At the end, jump to the above wall ledge and pull yourself into the alcove. Continue to work your way up and around until you reach a new hallway. Run up it. At the end, arm yourself and turn around. Run back down the hall to find the stalker Mummy. Take him out and return to the end. If you want a Large Medipack and Shotgun Ammo, jump up the two wall ledges, then jump to the platform behind. Grapple and run along the wall to the next platform, where you will find these two items. Otherwise, simply jump to the first wall ledge and shimmy around the corner.

Shimmy all of the way to the end of the ledge. Don't allow yourself to drop down to the wall ledge below. From this upper ledge, jump straight across (directly under the gold symbol) to the lip of the square platform across the way. Again, this is a hard jump. Push forward before you jump to gain momentum, and jump right as Lara moves forward. Also, hold "Jump" while in midair for that extra oomph. Note, if you can't pull this jump off, you can work your way back down to the ground via that lower ledge, then work your way back up to the top. However, you can make the jump, and it is a lot faster.

Move down to the open doorway and backtrack to the main obelisk room. Checkpoint. Cross the horizontal bars to your left, then cross the bridge for the Scarab of Osiris. Booya!

Placing the Artifacts



Jump into the water below and swim through the open gate. Swim through the tunnel and surface at the end. Grab the Small Medipack and the 50 Caliber Pistol Ammo, then pull the lever. Hello again, Statues! Climb up the ladder. Checkpoint.

Run to the right side of the room, then down the left hall. Arm yourself and step out into the light. Hit the Centaur before he hits you, and keep hitting until he goes down. Finally, approach the obelisk here and place the four items you just spent this level collecting in the inserts. End of chapter!

Arm yourself with your weapon of choice, then go through the newly opened door and up the stairs. Look out for the two Mummies at the top. Once they're toast, enter the pillar room and collect the Small Medipack and the 50 Caliber Pistol Ammo.

Obelisk Mirror Puzzle



The goal of this puzzle is to turn the base of each obelisk so mirrored drawings face each other all of the way around. Check out the surrounding walls to see which two images are supposed to touch on that side. This takes a lot of trial and error, as turning one pillar will make the pillars on both sides also turn. So, my suggestion is to not play around with it, as there's an easy solution. With you back to the stairs, turn the top left pillar twice, and the bottom right pillar twice, and voilà, puzzle solved. How easy was that?

Climb to the top of the pillar, then continue up to the ladder. Climb out and make your way down the hall. Checkpoint.

Wall smashers galore! You're going to have to move fast here, so be ready! Jump the the platform, then to the left wall ledge. Jump up, then to the scarab ledge, then backwards to the wall ledge behind you. Jump past the wall smasher to the next ledge, then to the platform behind you. Whew! Continue to the end of the hall. Checkpoint.

You'll arrive in a room with two staircases. Neither is complete, meaning you can reach neither of the above doors. So, instead, move down the left ladder, then drop down to the ground. Grab the Shotgun Ammo and 50 Caliber Pistol Ammo, then run forward. You'll get a quick cutscene of a Giant Sphinx. Gorgeous. Kill the Rats then move into the left alcove for the Small Medipack. Climb the ladder across from the Sphinx. Shimmy left, then jump to the broken staircase below. Continue to the top for a Checkpoint.

Jump to the platform in the corner, then pull yourself up to the platform. Continue up the next one, then slide down the slide to the wall ledge across the way. Pull yourself up top, then continue up the ramp to the top. As tempting as it is to jump the gap here, don't do it. Instead, jump to the left pillar, then work your way up and back to the last (first?) pillar in the line. From the top crevice, jump back to the ledge behind you. Work your way up to the top and quickly pull yourself up to the above ledge.

Before you'll have time to think, you'll find yourself in battle with a couple of flying Mutant Bats. Great. Shoot them quickly, then head right. Use the slide to grab the horizontal pole, then continue on to the platform with the door and lever. Pull said lever, then pass through the door. Checkpoint.

Run down the hall and quickly move past the first wall smasher. When you get to the second one, you'll have to be a bit trickier, since you don't have enough time to cross before being killed. So, instead, jump to that first platform then crouch. When the smasher retracts, jump to the second platform and crouch. Repeat until you reach the end. Continue down the hall. Checkpoint.

Ankh Key #1



Run down the stairs and note the lever. Pull it if you want, but it won't do you much good...yet. Jump down into the pool below.

Dive for the Small Medipack, then surface. Pull yourself up to the platform in the corner, then step onto the piece of rubble. Face the wall and note the vertical insert with the designs on it. Jump to the ledge in the insert and it will begin to sink. Continue to jump up until you reach the top. Ride the insert down to the bottom and wait for it to be locked in place. As it falls, the obelisk behind you will raise up, and a small platform above the pool with emerge. Three more obelisks to go.

Climb the newly raised obelisk and jump to the platform behind it. Facing the wall, jump to the wall ledge to the right, then to the next insert and ride it down, thus raising obelisk #2 and extending the platform a bit more. Return to obelisk #1 and climb it again, then jump to the same small platform you were just on. This time, however, jump to the wall ledge to the left, then to the ladder. Climb the ladder until you are jump above the horizontal bars to your left, then quickly move across them. Catch the wall ledge at the end, then jump to the insert to your left. This will raise obelisk #3. From your position on the insert, jump back to the obelisk and climb to the top. Shimmy around and jump to the platform (which, by the way, is almost fully extended).

Move to the far end and face the last obelisk. Use your grapple to wall run to the small wall ledge, then jump to the final insert.

When all four obelisks are in full upright position, return to the small platform behind obelisk #1 then jump left to that ladder again. Climb all of the way to the top and you'll find yourself back at the original entrance to this room. Run down the stairs and pull the lever. This will open the door on the other side of that extended platform/bridge below. Checkpoint.

Climb back down the ladders and make your way to that door. Arm your shotgun, then enter. Kill the Mummy and collect the Ankh Key #1. Doing so will raise the gate at the surface of the pool. Exit out and move through that gate. Run to the end of the hall and you'll find yourself back in the Large Sphinx room.

Kill the Centaur, then climb the that same ladder across from the Sphinx. At the top, head right and use the horizontal poles to reach the stairs. Run up the stairs, climb the ladder, collect the Shotgun Ammo and Large Medipack to your left, then return right, run up the ramp, then jump the wall ledge. Make your way up to the platform, then fall down to the level below. Climb the pillar up and around to the very top. Pull yourself up, step away from the edge of the platform, then take on the two Mutant Bats. Bastards! Just shoot them until they die.

Approach the horizontal bars at the opposite end of the platform, but don't jump to them. Instead, look to the grapple point to your right (don't confuse this one with the one you may have spotted when you first reached the platform). Grapple to it, then swing to the top of the Sphinx head. Collect the Dual Mini SMGs. Nice. You've been needing those.

Return to the platform via the same grapple hook, then cross the horizontal bar and make your way down to the doorway below. Pull the lever and move through the door. Checkpoint.

Ankh Key #2



Run down the hall. At the wall smashers, wait until the horizontal bar before you is extended, then jump to it. Swing around the bar, then quickly jump to the next bar. Jump to the ledge across the way, and pull yourself out of the pit. Run to the end of the hall. Checkpoint.

Hey, look, this room looks familiar! Same story as last time. Your goal is to elevate all four of the obelisks below. However, it's important this time that you don't just jump in. This time we're going to start from the top. If you already have jumped in, drown yourself and you'll start back up top.

From the entrance, jump to the wall ledges to your right, then to the ladder. Work your way down to the next set of wall ledges. Take them over to the first insert, then hop onto it. This will raise obelisk #1. Use the obelisk to reach the tiny platform above. From here, jump back to the wall ledges, then quickly cross the four horizontal poles (remember, hit "Jump" the second you hit the poles).

Note, if you fall from the horizontal poles, it's OK. As long as you've raised obelisk #1, you're in the clear. Just skip obelisk #2, then come back to it once you've raised the other two.




You'll end up on a small wall ledge. Jump right to grab the insert and raise obelisk #2. Fall into the water.

Climb onto the platform in front of the gated door, then jump left to the pole top. From here, head to the wall ledges, then jump left to the wall insert. There goes obelisk #3. Jump to it and climb to the top. Hop to the platform behind the obelisk, then jump right. Jump up, then to the horizontal bar behind you. Jump to the small platform, the next horizontal bar (big jump), the wall ledge, then the final insert. Raise obelisk #4.

Jump onto obelisk #4, then to the fully extended bridge. Run to the end with the horizontal poles and jump to the left set of them. Cross to the wall ledge, then work your way to the highest one. From here, climb the ladders to the top. Use the wall ledges to reach your original entrance to the area, then pull the nearby lever to raise the door. Checkpoint.

Backtrack to the ladders. Once you've reached the bottom of the second one, jump to the upper lip of the doorway to your right. Fall down onto the bridge, arm yourself (want to give those SMGs a try?), and move through the door. Fight the Mummy and collect Ankh Key #2. Checkpoint.

Hop into the water and move through the now open gate. Arm yourself and run down the hall. Pop out back at the Sphinx statue and kill the two Centaurs. Phew.

Climb up the Sphinx stairs and insert the two Ankh Keys into the slots alongside the door. Checkpoint.

Move through the open door. Grab the ball at the top and give it a push down the ramp in front of you. Hopefully it will clear out any Rats coming your way (if not, take the vermin out the old fashion way). Continue working the ball down and killing Rats as you go (there's a total of seven). Grab the Shotgun Ammo on your way down. At the end your little concrete ball will fall into the large pool below. Checkpoint.

Grab the Small Medipack and note the doorway across from you. You can't reach it now, so hop in the water. Swim to the spot directly beneath that doorway, then dive straight down (just hold the "Dive" button). On the wall at the bottom you'll find a lever. Pull it. This will lower the level of the water.

With your back to the lever, swim forward and pull yourself up onto the right platform. Make your way up it using the various platforms, ledges, and poles. When you shimmy right around the leg of the statue, use the grapple to wall run along it, then jump to the ladder across the way. Climb it, then jump to the wall ledge behind you (just jump to catch the ledge, don't bother with any directional buttons). Work your way around to the front of the statue, and take a look at the puzzle before you.

Actually, this isn't much of a puzzle at all. All you must do here is rotate the scarab on the wall so its direction matches the corresponding scarab on the ground. To rotate the scarabs, simply shoot them. Keep shooting until the pieces match up. For clarity, the open arms of the wall scarabs are at the heads of the scarabs, and the pointed hands of the ground scarabs are also at the heads of the scarabs.

Once all scarabs match up, jump through the open alcove above and pull the lever. This will raise the water to your level. Checkpoint.

Climb the ladder that's next to the alcove, then use the wall ledges to make your way right and up. At the corner, jump to the horizontal pole, then the next wall ledge. From here, jump to the gold symbol to your right. This will open the underwater door between the feet of the statue from which you are currently hanging. This door is only open for a short time. So, drop down and quickly swim to it.

Once through the hole, examine the scarab tiles on the floor (you may care to surface and catch your breath first). The top left tile faces up, the top right tile faces left, the bottom left tile faces right, the bottom right tile faces down. Surface and pull yourself out of the water. Shoot the wall scarabs so they match their corresponding ground tile scarabs. Once this is done, move in and pull the lever. Checkpoint.

Swim out then swim into the same alcove in the first statue (where you pulled the lever after solving the scarab puzzle). Once inside, surface. Checkpoint.

Use the scarab ledge to climb the right wall, then cross over to the other side via the horizontal bars (move fast). Move through the opening to your left. Once through, immediately look right to spot the wall ledges. Climb them to the top. Move across the platform to the gap and jump to the gold symbol, thus raising the water to its peak. Swim up and out the door.

Arm your Shotgun and run down the hall. Eventually you'll reach a room with several red pillars and four nasty enemies. Fight them in the pillar room (as opposed to backing up into the hall) as you have more space. Try to focus on one at a time to get him to lunge at you. Use your Adrenal Dodge and Headshot when he does. Keep an eye on your health, and keep going until all three are dead. Finally, I found the SMG to be a good weapon to use in this battle.

Climb the first red pillar on your right to the top, shimmy around to the other side, drop down to the crevice below, and jump to the second red pillar to the right. Climb to the top and shimmy all of the way right. Jump and use your grapple hook to cross the room to and catch the second pillar from the end on the left side. Climb it to the top crevice and jump to the end pillar. From here, shimmy around the pillar and jump to the small platform. Insert the Scion of Qualopec into the hole.

Return to that first red pillar, then the second. From the second, jump to the second concrete pillar behind it. Shimmy around to the right side and use the grapple hook to wall run, then jump to the second concrete pillar from the end. Climb it, jump to the last concrete pillar, then climb it to the very, very top, and jump to the last red pillar. Climb to the to, then jump to the small platform and insert the Scion of Tihocan. Checkpoint.

Run through the door for a cutscene and hit the correct buttons when prompted.
