Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 debuted last week for the PS2. In it's latest incarnation, everyone's favorite skateboarding game offers smoother graphics, fast loading times, and enhanced game play. There are new levels, basically the same controls, and you still have "goals" to complete in each level, including gathering S-K-A-T-E. Here are some highlights which make this game extremely enjoyable and infinitely replayable:

1) Are you sick of looking for that stupid Secret Tape? How about the fifth Bell in the School (THPS2)? Well, now you have the option to "view goal movies". It shows you a cinematic of your remaining goals and where to find them. Nice touch.

2) The soundtrack is more eclectic and softer overall. A good thing for us who are sick of the all-Offspring-like hard core crap found in previous versions..."die, die, you psycho bitch" will not be missed. Replacing this is a good mix of hip-hop, rap, punk, oldies (Hey, Ho, Let's Go), alt, and rock. It just seems to go better with the game, especially when you play it for 9 hours at a time.

3) Player customization. You'd think it wouldn't be fun. But it is! Especially with all of the options you have to choose from; like about 20 hats, 12 shirts/vests, 10 pants, and helmets, too. We're playing with Tony Hawk wearing a "Capone" hat with a green and black puffy jacket and rolled up red jeans. Don't Ask.
