This review is based on the Xbox version of the game. Tony Hawk's Underground is supposed to be different from the first four Tony Hawk games in that it provides a story mode which allows you to customize your skater and your tricks in many different ways. In fact, on the PS2 version, if you have the EyeToy, you can even put your own face on your skater. However, if you're an average gamer that has played and enjoyed previous Tony Hawk games you probably won't even notice the new features. In other words Tony Hawk's Underground is more of the same. But that's not a bad thing. The only thing that you probably will notice is that your skater now has the ability to get off of his or her board and run around and climb things. This feature is used in the game for such things as climbing ladders onto the tops of buildings and for getting various goals. Bottom line is if you enjoyed previous Tony Hawk games you'll also thouroughly enjoy this one. If you are new to the series, this is a great game to get into it. The nice thing about this game is that if you do have the desire to get into customization of tricks and levels, etc., it's all there for you thus giving the experienced and curious Tony Hawk player a whole lot of fun things with which to play. A solid and fun game through and through.
