1. Introduction and Missions

Introduction

True Crime Streets of LA is a little bit GTA, a touch of The Getaway, and a dash of Max Payne. You are Nick Kang trying to avenge you father's death in over 400 square miles of digitally rendered LA.

This guide will work for the PS2, Xbox, GameCube, or PC version of the game.

Blue (Cyan) Icons are your friends. They are 24/7 Facility Upgrades (see below). If you pass one, you may as well go ahead and try to earn the upgrade. There's no point in waiting until later to get them. And, actually, the game is much easier if you get lots of upgrades near the beginning (by Episode 5, say).

I make reference to the map a lot in this game. If you bring up your map screen I use the names of the sub-sections of the city that are printed on the map to help you get around. I do not use the names of places as you driving (for example "Miracle Mile"). That would get too confusing, so, like I said, I stuck to simply what is labeled on the map. Having said that, when I say "West OF something" that means that it is away from the actual name of the place. If I say "West something (no "of")" that means that it is near or touching the actual name of the place. Sometimes I have to give two locations such as "North of Downtown" and "South of Chinatown". Generally, that means that it lies somewhere right in between the two.

Also, I give directions on the fastest/most direct way to get to places. This is by no means the be all and end all of how you should get to places. You can get most places however the heck you want. I just included those directions for convenience.

Most of the missions in this game are fairly easy, especially if you get the upgrades early and often and get the Bonus Cruisin' Upgrades when I tell you to. Speaking of Bonus Cruisin' Upgrades, I have listed those upgrades at the end of each mission where there is a Bonus Cruisin' mission. You don't have to get them in that order but that is how I recommend doing it. I have lumped all of the Bonus Cruisin' upgrades together so that you can glance them over more easily.

There are a lot of stats in this game. Go to the start menu and choose Player Stats. From here you can see everything that you've earned and the Button combinations for the various combos and upgrades you've earned.

Episode 1 - Triad Violence

Mission 1 - Shooting Practice

This is the very first mission of the game. All you have to do here is pull your trigger button over and over again. Destroy 10 targets and you'll be all set. You won't have much luck with the targets while they're moving (that's an upgrade later on) so just wait for the moving targets to stop and lay into them. You should have no problem getting at least 10 targets.

Mission 2 - Race to EOD (Elite Operations Division)

Ah. How cute. Your first driving mission. At this point you may want to adjust the controls. In my case, I made it as similar to GTA as possible. It only takes one switch. Map the "commandeer vehicle" button to the Triangle Button (PS2) and make the L1 Button (PS2) your jump/jump kick. That's the only switch that I needed. If you're comfortable with the controls, well, move on.

So, now we are in the car. You can push right on your D-Pad to turn your siren on and you can push left on your D-Pad to sound the horn. It's also a good time to get familiar with the map. Push the Select Button (PS2) to bring up the map or you can go into the Pause Menu and select it. Looking at the map, you are the White Flashing Triangle. Your objective is the Green Circle.

Back to the car. We have a 1:20 to get to the Chief's Office. Of course, we're facing the wrong way. Look at your in-game map and you'll see the little green arrow is behind you. Turn around and head down Olive St. (the street you are on). Stay on Olive St. and then turn left onto 7th St. The EOD will be in front of you on the left hand side. Drive into the Green Light.

Mission 3 - Driving for Chow

When you start this mission you'll see that there is a Parking Garage directly behind you. On your in-game map this is denoted with a Yellow Circle "P". The Parking Garage is where your cars are kept...cars that you have unlocked/earned, that is. At any time, you can go into a Garage and select a car.

Head north on 7th. At this point you'll probably get your first dispatch to help solve a street crime (Red Dots). I talk about this in the section, Street Crimes. Please look there for information. Anyway, turn right onto Grand St, then left onto 3rd St. and then left onto Flower St. The Restaurant is right there. Get out of your car and walk into the green triangle.

Mission 4 - Triad Muscle

OMG, did Nick just throw a chopstick into that guy's ear?!?! Now, it's time to fight. You have several moves: punch, kick, jump kick, and grapple (grabbing and throwing). You can also block. My preference for fighting is to alternate the punch and kick buttons. Then, when the enemy is stunned, go for the grapple. Later on in the game you'll earn some finishing move-type upgrades, but for now, this works well.

Mission 5 - Finale: Rosie Trouble

In this mission you have to shoot the Triad Thug. You'll see him running and you'll get a yellow target (reticle) on him. Just shoot him.

Mission X - Bonus Cruisin'

It really is a matter of personal preference as to what you should upgrade. You have the choice of upgrading your Weapon, your Fighting Skills, or getting a new Car. Since you can pretty much car jack any fast car, I suggest going for the Weapon Upgrade here. Drive to the Green Target Icon on Lincoln Blvd.

New Weapon #1: .40 revolvers. 8 bullet capacity. 4 shots per second.

In order to get this you have to shoot all of the robots shooting tennis balls at you. Believe it or not, the tennis balls do a ton of damage. The key here is to keep moving from side to side while shooting the entire time. If you fail, you can come back via the Mission Selection Screen.

Episode 2 - Mean Streets

Mission 1 - Cruising for Leads

Here, you can play an Alt Intro if you'd like. It doesn't affect the gameplay. >From where you start if you just go straight you'll be on Hill St. (anyone got the blues?). Turn left onto 4th and keep going until you see the Green Tube of Light on San Pedro St. Before you enter the Green Triangle, though, make sure you have at least your starter car. If not, grab a fast car. You're going to need it in a few missions. Once you have a decent car, get out and walk into the Green Triangle.

Mission 2 - Dojo Attacker

Time for some fighting. You're actually fighting your younger brother, Cary. Again, my style is to just alternate punch and kick in rapid progression. If you do feel threatened you can block. Once you have the guy stunned you can either grapple and throw him or quickly enter: punch, kick, punch, kick. This does a jump twist punch that does some good damage. I think Nick says, "Monkey Paws," when he does that combo. Or, something like that. Monkey paws made me laugh so I stuck with it.

Mission 3 - Red Lantern Rush

This is a timed driving mission. You have 1:00 to get to the Bar. You start out by heading N on San Pedro St. Veer left onto Onizuka St. and then go left onto 1st St. Stay on 1st for a few seconds and you'll soon see Hill St. Take a right onto Hill St. and follow it in to the Green Light.

Mission 4 - Bar Brawl

More fighting. This time you're fighting Feng. He has a knife. Bastard! Same routine. Punch, kick. Punch, kick. Stun and then grapple or Monkey Paw (punch, kick, punch, kick) him. If you do happen to knock the knife out of his hand you can pick it up by going over to it and pressing your Grapple Button.

Mission 4 (Alt) - The Arsonist

Chase Feng. Follow his car and shoot it or ram it or both until it blows up.

Mission 5 - Chasing Triad Thug

You are now on foot, in the city, chasing Feng. There are several ways you can deal with this. You can simply shoot him if you'd like. You can also try to tackle him by using any one of your punch, kick, jump kick buttons. I prefer using the kick button while chasing people as it does a kick slide and is very effective. Once you have him down, you can fight him. However, doing it this way, you run the risk of him shooting you. But, you will gain Good Cop karma points. Feng might even out run you and jump into a car. If he does that, just jump into the nearest car and get behind him and shoot his car until it stops and then he'll get out and you do choose to deal with him however you see fit. Once he is defeated you're done.

Mission 6 - Driving to Jimmy's

Time to drive to the warehouse. Now would be a good time to start getting some Cyan (blue) 24/7 Upgrades if you haven't started already. Check out the 24/7 Upgrades section in this walkthrough for more info.

We're driving to Jimmy's Warehouse. We start of going N on Figueroa St. On your left you'll see the Staples Center, home of whiney basketball players and many conventions. Stay on this street for a while until you turn right onto Temple St. Jimmy's is on the left side. Drive into the Green Light.

Mission 7 - Sneaking In

Your first sneaking mission. Hold down the kick button (X on the PS2) while near a wall or in front of an obstacle and you'll take cover. You can use the other control stick to move the camera to help you see around corners. This is useful to see if the bad guy has his back turned to you. If he does, that means you can sneak up on him and knock him out. You have 2 choices when knocking somebody out: The Punch Button does a non-lethal attack (good cop points). The Grapple Button does a lethal take-down (bad cop points). You are also equipped with 3 tranquilizer darts although I have found little use for them throughout the game.

So, go up to the first guy when his back is turned and take him down. If you are seen you'll get a little warning beep and "?" icons. If that happens, just run the other way until things settle down. Actually, this sneaking mission is quite easy, and you can simply run up to each guy and quickly take him out. But, to be cool and all tricky, wait for the back to be turned. Proceed to the Green Arrow and be ready for one last guy to pop out.

Mission 8 - Jimmy's Ambush

A real shoot out. You should have at least the first weapons upgrade by now. If you don't you can leave the mission and go get it. See the 24/7 Facility Upgrades section for more info.

As you kill guys you can pick up their guns using the Grapple Button (Circle on the PS2). There are many Uzis around for the killing...I mean taking. As you move forward, killing everything that moves, you'll see a concrete pillar in the middle of the screen. Hanging on it is a Health Pack. Use the Grapple Button to grab it.

Also, you should know about holding down the Kick Button to take cover, then, while still holding it, you can pop out and shoot by hitting your fire button. Not necessary, but cool. After you kill about 12 of them or so you'll be done.

Mission 9 - Finale: Sniper Assassin

For this one you should have the 2nd weapon upgrade, Aim Assistance. This will help with getting a head shot. Check out the 24/7 Facility Upgrade section of the walkthrough for more info.

You have a mean sniper to kill. In front of you are 3 large warehouse windows. The sniper is across the way. In between each large window is a concrete section of wall. Go in between the second and third window from the left. Then, go into Precision Aim (hold fire button). This should make it so that you have a clean around the concrete section of wall, yet are still protected. When the sniper comes into view, look for the Red Reticle (Head Shot) and fire away.

Mission X - Bonus Cruisin'

Again, because you can pretty much carjack any fast car, you don't need the unlockable car right now. I recommend going for the Combat Trial. Go to the Green "H" icon.

Dispose of the first 3 goons and then get ready to face the master. He isn't necessarily hard, but he does take a while. Block when he comes after you. Otherwise, just keep the pressure on with punch, kick, punch, kick, until you get him dazed and then either Grapple him or Monkey Paw him with punch, kick, punch, kick combo.

New Grapple #1: Whirlwind Throw - Grapple, Punch, Jump Kick.

Episode 3 - International Ties

Mission 1 - Off to Chong's

Here, you can play an Alt Intro if you'd like. It doesn't affect the gameplay. If you don't have a fast car at this point, carjack one. You don't need it now but it helps later. You start out going West on Melrose Ave. Take it until the "T" intersection with La Cienega Blvd. Turn right. Continue on La Cienega until you get to Sunset Blvd. Take a left onto Sunset and continue until you see the Green Light.

Mission 2 - Tailing Chong's Limo

This is your first tailing mission. See the vertical line indicator under the enemy's car icon on the upper right of your screen? You want to stay in the middle of it. Too close and you'll tip off the car that you are tailing. This results in one of the "?" icons turning white. If they all turn white that means that the car has seen you and it will make a run for it. Not a good thing. Too far and you'll lose him. Basically, this entails a lot of pulsing of the accelerator button. Quick gas, let off gas, quick gas, let off gas. Well, you get the picture. Tailing missions can be quite boring but don't lose your concentration.

Mission 3 - A Stakeout Gone Bad

Now you'll have to escape the attackers. You'll be plopped into the most recent car of Nick's that you've unlocked. Since I haven't recommended that you unlock any of his cars yet, it's the standard '66 Classic Car that you began the game with. In order to escape your attackers it's best to make quick turns in neighborhoods or go through park areas. Simply trying to outrun them won't really work. You have to be crafty.

The alternative way to do this is to simply shoot out the attacker's car before they can destroy your car. However, this is difficult because you have a hand gun and they have an Uzi. It's worth a shot, though, if you're having trouble out-driving them.

The best way to do this, though, is to simply drive straight, as fast as you can. Meanwhile, shoot the attacker's car as you're driving forward. This will damage his car enough that you will be able to get away.

Mission 4 - Driving to Spa

You start out going West on Melrose Ave. Next, turn left onto Vista St. Then, turn left on Beverly Blvd and the Green Light will be right there. Get out of your car and enter the Green Arrow.

Mission 5 - Spa Infiltration

Here we are, sneaking again. Remember to use your other control stick to move the camera to see around corners and that holding the Kick Button will make you take cover. Take out the first 2 guys and then the waitress. Then, just wait for each of the 3 guys to come out of each of the 3 saunas and take them out right as they exit. Turn the corner and you'll see a furnace in the middle of a circular room. There are buckets on the floor. Don't run into them or they will make noise and alert everyone to your presence. On the other side of the furnace is one guy you have to take out. Then, walk into the Green Arrow.

Mission 5 (Alt) - Russkie Trouble

Fight the goons. You shouldn't have any trouble.

Mission 6 - Shower Room Antics

Time for some fighting. If you've been getting the fighting upgrades (see 24/7 Upgrades section) then this should be easier. However, even if you haven't gotten any upgrades yet there is a Grapple that you can do that does some good damage. Once you have an enemy stunned, do this button combo: Grapple, Punch, Kick. This tosses the opponent and you get an extra punch in there. This Grapple move also disarms attackers. Then, if you have the Ground Attack upgrade you can jump on him for extra damage. After the first 3 attackers are gone, you'll have to face a better guy. None of these guys should give you any problem, though.

Mission 7 - Finale: The Accomplice

A good ol' shoot 'em out! Remember to take cover ifnecessaryy (Hold Kick Button). Otherwise, just fire away. If you haven't earned any Weapon Upgrades yet, you may want to get through upgrade #4. This will make this mission infinitely easier.

Remember, you can pick up enemy's weapons with the Grapple Button. There is a Health Pack on one of the middle pillars on the fountain. Use your Grapple Button to grab it/them. After you kill a bunch of guys you'll have one more bad guy to kill. He's a little more powerful than the others. My advice it to pick up two of the assault rifles and take cover behind a pillar. Then, step out and blast him with both rifles until he dies.

Mission X - Bonus Cruisin'

Again, because you can pretty much carjack any fast car, you don't need the unlockable car right now. I recommend going for the Weapon Upgrade. Go to the Green Target icon.

New Weapon #2: .45 Pistols - 10 bullet capacity, 5 shots per second

Just take out the yellow robots by moving from side to side to avoid the tennis balls while shooting the entire time.

Episode 4 - Russian Face-Off

Mission 1 - En Route to Autoshop

This is a good time to go for upgrades if you are so inclined. As always, make sure you have a fast car before starting the first mission.

You start off heading North on Cloverfield Blvd. Go down it for a few streets then take a left on Olympic Blvd. Take Olympic all the way to 4th St. Turn right. The Green Light in on Colorado Ave. on the left. Get out of your car and go into the Green Triangle.

Mission 2 - Grease Monkeys

You have to fight the bikers. The first two are easy. If you're earned the Tiger Sweep use it liberally. The last guy isn't that hard. Just block often and you should be OK. Watch out for the barrels. If you hit them they explode causing you and your enemy damage. If you're really good, you can stun a guy and then do a Leg-Throw-Grapple (Grapple, Kick, Punch combo), and toss him into the barrels.

Mission 3 - Chasing Francis

A fast car isn't necessary, but it does help. If you don't have a fast car, replay the first mission and grab a fast car. I had a little VW Cabriolet type car and it worked out fine. Just chase Francis' car and when you are close to it and locked on, shoot at it repeatedly until it blows up.

Mission 4 - Off to the Gulag

You start off facing West on Beverly Blvd. Take it for some time until you get to La Cienega Blvd. Turn right (North). Go on it until you see the Green Light to the right on Sunset Blvd. Drive into the Green Light.

Mission 5 - Another Way In

Another sneaking mission. For the first 2 guys, just make sure they're backs are turned and then, whammo. Between the 2nd and 3rd guy watch out for the litter on the ground as it makes a sound if you hit it. Then, you'll have two guys to take out where all of the cars are parked. Wait for them to come together, then, as soon as they turn their backs, attack the one on the left, then, the one on the right. After that it's pretty easy. Just watch out for the guy that comes out the door with the Green Arrow. Be quick to defeat him.

Mission 6 - Disco Inferno

Some more shooting. There is a Health Pack on the DJ Stand in the middle of the dance floor if you need it. Justrepeatedlyy fire over and over and let your auto-aim do it's thing. The last guy in the upper balcony is tough. You'll have to unload 3-4 clips of ammo on him. Just keep moving and keep shooting.

Mission 6 (Alt) - Alley Brawl

Fight the bouncers in the parking lot.

Mission 7 - Cary in Trouble

Your little brother is in trouble. Oh no! You are timed. You have 2:55 seconds to get to Cary. If you don't have a fast enough car, go back and play Mission 1 (En Route to Autoshop) and grab a better car and then drive into the Green Light. You need at least one of those tricked-out Honda Civics with the huge spoiler on the rear. Also, any one of your unlockable cars will work (even though I haven't told you to unlock any yet) as will theFerarrii and 2 seat spider convertible car. Just make sure it's a fast car. Once you drive into the Green Light with the car of your choice, it'll save and when the next mission starts just exit out and start this mission over. This works with any free-roam mission.

You start off at the end of the New Hampshire Ave exit off of 101. Well, immediately turn around and go down the Wrong Way ramp. When you get to the Highway turn right and you'll be heading East...the right direction. Head along Highway 101 for about 2 minutes or so. Keep checking your map and when you see that you are near the Green Circle you'll see the "Closed for Construction" Hollywood Exit. The exit right after that one is the 4th St Exit. Get off and turn right onto 4th St. Soon, you'll see San Pedro St on your left and the Green Light as well. Drive into it.

Mission 8 - Finale: Vandal Wrath

Fighting time. You'll have 3 guys to deal with. If you have upgraded to the Tiger Claw by now, use it (see 24/7 Upgrades for more info). Otherwise, just punch, kick, punch, kick until the guy is dazed and then do whatever combo you want on him. I personally like the Grapple, Punch, Kick combo as it disarms the enemy and does some good damage.

Mission X - Bonus Cruisin'

Again, because you can pretty much carjack any fast car, you don't need the unlockable car right now. I recommend going for the Weapon Upgrade. Go to the Green Target icon.

New Weapon #3: .50 Pistols - 12 bullet capacity, 6 shots per second

Just take out the yellow robots by moving from side to side to avoid the tennis balls while shooting the entire time.

Episode 5 - The Rescue

Mission 1 - Tailing Suspect Cop

You really should know what to do by now. If you don't, beat yourself with a wet noodle. Just keep him in the middle of your Tailing Meter and you'll be fine. This one takes a few minutes and be aware of his many quick turns.

Mission 2 - Bum Encounter

Poor Bums. Beat them up. After the first 2 which are pretty easy you'll get super Rolly McPunchy guy. He likes to do a quick rolling punch that is rather annoying. Just block it and then do your thing.

Mission 3 - Meeting Rafferty

Go ahead and pick up a fast car on your way to the destination. You start out facing North on Holt Ave. Turn around and then head East on Pico Blvd. Eventually you'll reach an intersection with San Vicente. Just go straight across and stay on Pico Blvd. When you get to Crenshaw Blvd turn Right (South). The Green Light will be on the corner with Venice Blvd. Get out of your car and go into the Green Arrow.

Mission 3 (Alt) - The Peking Duck

Get to the Butcher's Shop. You start out heading North on Holt Ave. Take a right (East) onto Olympic Blvd and take it all the way to the shop.

Mission 4 - Butcher Shop Rush

You are timed. You have 2:15. I was in a Taxi and didn't make it. I was close, though. You need a fairly fast car. If you don't have one, exit out and play a mission where you can grab a better car (I like Ep. II, Mission 1) and then drive into the Green Light for that mission so that the game saves. Then, exit out and start this mission over. When you start, you are heading North on Crenshaw Blvd. Continue on it until you reach Olympic Blvd. Turn right onto Olympic and keep going until you see the Green Light. Once I had my Ferarri that I picked up in Ep. II, Mission 1, I made it with 39 seconds to spare.

Mission 5 - On the Chopping Block

Did Nick just cut that guys finger off? Egad! Another fight. When these guys are stunned I like using the Grapple, Punch, Kick combo toss as that disarms them as well so they are not as much of a threat to you. After you take care of the first 5 guys you'll have one tough cookie to deal with. If you have some Combat Upgrades use them. I particularly liked the Tiger Claw.

Mission 6 - Slaughterhouse

A shoot 'em up with beef involved. Just run around shooting as fast as you can. By now, your left index finger is probably sore...it's OK. Just give it a good soak later ;) Remember, you can pick up fallen guns with your grapple button and don't forget about holding the Kick Button if you need to take cover. Watch out for the guys on the conveyer belt hiding behind the beef. Through the second door you go through, there is Health Pack on the wall. If you need it, use the Grapple Button to grab it. There's one tough guy at the end near the Green Arrow. If you have an assault rifle just lay into him.

Mission 7 - Finale: The Great Escape

You now have to drive like a crazy man and escape the Triads. You'll be doing this one several times. My advice is to go into Korea Town where there are many small neighborhood streets and zig-zag back and forth: quick right, quick left, quick right, quick left. You can lose them pretty easily this way.

The other option is to try to out-shoot them. However, they have Uzis and you have pistols. Not a fair fight, but, if you are really good, you may be able to disable their cars before they disable yours. Personally, I'd stick with the first method, though.

Mission X - Bonus Cruisin'

Since you've been following this walkthrough to a "T" (ok maybe not) you should have all of the Weapon Bonus Upgrades by now. So, time for another Combat Training Bonus Upgrade. Drive to the Green "H" Icon.

New Grapple #2: Arm Buster - Grapple, Punch, Kick

The first 4 guys you fight are made of whipped cream. Now, you have to fight Mr. Nice. He's not that tough. Just keep at him. When you have defeated him you'll have earned the Arm Buster.

Episode 6 - House of Wu

Mission 1 - Off to Wu's Place

You start off facing South on Broadway. Turn around and go North on Broadway. You'll eventually get to the Green Light. Get out and walk into the Green Arrow.

Mission 2 - Up the Food Chain

Sneaking into the restaurant. You know the routine: wait for the enemy's back to be turned and knock him out. Avoid obstacles like the chairs. They make noise. You should have no problem getting to the Green Arrow.

Mission 3 - Kitchen Inspection

Fight the cooks. The first 5 guys are pretty easy. Then, you'll have the guy who is wrapped up in gauze like a mummy. Hmmm? You can't do any damage to him. That's because he needs to be set on fire. There is a stove on either side of the kitchen. You need to stun him in a position so that you can either give him a Tiger Claw (upper-cut that will send him backwards) or so that you can Grapple him and throw him into the fire. This takes a little skill, a little patience, and a little luck. You can also, just kind of push him into the flame without being so fancy.

Mission 4 - Seeking Ancient Wu

You are now in an underground area. Time for some shooting. If you've earned the "Hollow Point 24/7 Upgrade" it really helps here.

If you go left at every turn you get to (killing about 4 guys along the way) you'll reach a Health Pack. It seems confusing as you go through the various paths, but, they all lead to the Green Arrow. Just keep running around shooting guys until you get there. Remember to pick up enemies' weapons as you come to them. However, if you have the Hollow Points like I do (brags) you shouldn't have any problem.

Mission 4 (Alt) - Tunnel Vision

You are in the sewers. You must reach the exit. The Zombies. They explode. The whole time there is a spiked fence chasing you. You have to move quickly, shooting the entire time.

Mission 5 - Inner Demons

Now the game has gotten weird. There are mystical dragon heads coming at you. Get ready to wear out your trigger finger. The deal with them is to keep shooting, then, when they come at you either scoot to the side or dive (Kick Jump) button to the side. If you have the "Hollow Point 24/7 Weapon Upgrade" it makes this mission much easier. After the first 3 sets of dragon heads you'll get a sort of dragon head boss. Do the same thing to him as you did with the other dragon heads. Also, stay in the middle of the arena. You don't want to get knocked into the lava.

Mission 6 - Die Die my Concubine

You have to fight the two fire ladies. They appear and reappear. If you have the "Tiger Claw 24/7 Combat Upgrade" use it when you have one of them stunned. It will launch the girl into the lava and instantly kill her. Otherwise, just keep up the pressure with your normal attacks.

Mission 7 - Finale: Nightmare

Holy crap! It's a dragon. Where am I? Anyway, to defeat the dragon, run around and around with him shooting him while he goes up and down circling the arena. Then, when he comes up to attack you, shoot him as fast as you can until he spits the fire balls at you. Either dive or run to the side to avoid the fire balls, then, watch out for his tail. It will whip you and try to knock you into the lava. If you go into the lava you die. This is very frustrating. Keep in the middle of the arena as much as possible and avoid that tail! Make sure to use your other control stick to move the camera so that you can see the dragon at all times. Also, just before the dragon will come up to shoot his fireballs you can track him by where the steam is coming from. Again, you may want the "Hollow Point 24/7 Weapon Upgrade" before you try this mission.

Mission X - Bonus Cruisin'

Since you've been following this walkthrough to a "T" (ok maybe not) you should have all of the Weapon Bonus Upgrades by now. So, time for another Combat Training Bonus Upgrade. Drive to the Green "H" Icon.

New Grapple #3: Dirty Boxer - Grapple, Kick, Punch

The first 4 guys you fight are made of whipped cream. Now, you have to fight Mr. Nice. He's not that tough. Just keep at him. When you have defeated him you'll have earned the Dirty Boxer.

Episode 7 - Finding Rocky

Mission 1 - In the Driver's Seat

You start off facing East on Santa Monica Blvd. Turn around and head West. Grab aFerarrii if one is around. Turn left (South) onto Rodeo Dr. Turn Right onto Wilshire Blvd and the Green Light will be right there.

Mission 2 - Pressing Rafferty

Now you have a dark bar fight. The bar keep isn't too tough, especially if you can corner him.

Mission 3 - On Rafferty's Tail

Another tailing mission. Hop into your car and do your thing. It's easier if you have a fast car. That's why I told you to grab a Ferarri in Mission 1. He makes lots of turns so just keep your eye on the radar.

Mission 3 (Alt) - FBI Goons

Fight the FBI agents. If you can grab a Taser do so. They shouldn't be much of a problem.

Mission 4 - Escaping the Feds

This is a very easy mission. Just shoot up the Feds cars until they are disabled and then drive away.

Mission 5 - Rafferty's Date

Another tailing mission. Are you bored yet?

Mission 6 - Easvesdropping

We're sneaking again. Run right up to the first guy and chop him. Next, a guy on your left. Chop him. Then, go right around the crates. A guy will be walking toward the right. Chop him. Now, don't hit the barrels and walk up and chop the next guy. Next, stay to your right and chop the next guy on your right, around the corner. Go around the same corner and you'll see another guy, smoking. Chop him. Stay along the right and you'll have another guy around the corner. Now, work toward the Green Arrow. There will be a guy who comes out from the left. Be aware of him and chop him. There is another guy on the left. He is in the same area the second to last guy came from. Run up and chop him. Enter the Green Arrow.

Mission 7 - Finale: Father's Killer

You are on a balcony. Start shooting. There is a Health Pack and several guns along the balcony that you are on. Not really hard, just keep shooting. Mission X - Bonus Cruisin'

Since you've been following this walkthrough to a "T" (ok maybe not) you now have all of the Bonus Cruisin' Weapon Upgrades and all of the Grapple Upgrades. Time to get your first car. How exciting!

New Car #1: '69 Muscle Car

Street Race! Make it to the Green Dot before anyone else does. If you fail, just exit out and reload the Bonus Cruisin' Mission.

Episode 8 - Retribution

Mission 1 - The Girlfriend Angle

Tail Rocky's girlfriend. Just do it.

Mission 2 - Back to the Gulag

You have 4 minutes to get to the Gulag. Since I just had you unlock the '69 Muscle Car in Episode 7 you should be all set. Turn right (East) onto Sunset Blvd and take it all the way to the Gulag. I made it with 17 seconds left while being fairly reckless.

Mission 3 - Rocky's Trap

Fight Rocky's Goons. The guy in the Jump Suit is a real pain. Take him out first. The other two are pretty easy.

Mission 3 (Alt) - Chopper Ambush

Drive along the highway as fast as you can while shooting it. When it turns to face you watch out for the rockets it fires. If you're lucky, the copter will crash into the first overpass that you reach. Otherwise, just keep firing at it.

Mission 4 - Driving to the Airport

You start out facing East on Sunset Blvd. Turn around and head West. Soon, you'll see Larrabee St which is actually San Vicente Blvd to the South. Head South on San Vicente. Turn right (West) onto Santa Monica Blvd. Stay on it for quite some time, past I-405 and take a left (South) on Cloverfield Blvd. Cloverfield ends in a "T" with Ocean Park Blvd. Turn left (East) onto Ocean Park. Then, turn right (South) onto 28th St. The Green Light is in front of you.

Mission 5 - Hangar Showdown

If you don't have the "Hollow Point 24/7 Weapon Upgrade" by now, I suggest you go get it (see 24/7 Upgrades Section of this walkthrough).

You start out in a large hangar. There are commandos all around. Start shooting anything and everything that moves. Run around wildly and shoot shoot shoot. The more gas canisters and barrels you hit the better. Once the first area is cleared proceed in the opposite direction of the automobiles. You'll see a Health Pack on the right wall and a guy will pop up above, on a crate. Shoot him. Work your way around and take out more guys. A guy on the catwalk above will be a little hard to kill. In front of you, on the far wall, is another Health Pack. Facing this second Health Pack, look down and notice the large gas container. Shoot it. Before you move on, be aware that guy is going to jump out at you from the right, where the barrel is.

Mission 6 - Jetting Away

Time to shoot a quickly moving jet. You may have to try this a few times to get the Jet's pattern down. Once you do that, just follow it and make sure you're locked onto it and shoot shoot shoot. Get right up behind it to do this.

Mission 7 - Finale: Puppet Master

Now you have to fight General Kim. He is not easy. There are lead pipes around the outside of your battle area. They are spinning. If you have a chance to pick them up, do so. Then, throw (hold Grapple Button) them at him. That's one way to do some damage. Otherwise you need to stun him. Punch, kick, punch, kick until you see him start to attack you then hold Block. Timing wise, when he pulls back for his double-fisted attack you can sneak in a quick punch or kick and stop the attack. When he gets you in a Grapple, I just slammed on any and every button I had in hopes of breaking it before he went through with it. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. It took me about 6 tries. My best luck was with a very quick punch, kick, punch, kick. Don't relent. Block as soon as he gets his first attack in on you.

You now get one of three endings. Yay!

Alternative Episode 4 - Con Girls

Mission 1 - Strip Club Detour

I recommend doing these Alternative Missions after you've either upgraded significantly or completed the 8 main episodes.

You start out facing North on Vermont. Turn around and you'll see the on-ramp for 101 North. Hop on 101. Get off at the Cahuenga Blvd Exit. Turn left (South) onto Cahuenga Blvd and take it to Hollywood Blvd. The Green Light is right there on Hollywood Blvd.

Mission 2 - Cat Fight

You get to beat up some scantily clad strippers. But, don't look at their bodies, look at that shiny floor! Anyway, none of the stripper are very difficult, especially if you have the Flying Tiger Upgrade. After the strippers, you have to fight the scummy bar manager. Not hard.

Mission 3 - Cruising for Lola

Hop onto Ivar Ave and head South. Ivar Ave changes into Cahuenga St. Turn right onto Sunset Blvd. The Green Light is right there.

Mission 3 (Alt) - Lola Rush

You have a 1:30 to get to Lola. You start out going East on Santa Monica Blvd. Turn left (South) onto Western and take it to Melrose Ave. Turn right (West) onto Melrose and follow it to Lola.

Mission 4 - The Driving Test

You have to prove your driving skills to Lola. You are in a stupid van. You have 1:30. You start out heading NW on Burnside. Stay on Burnside going through the middle grassy area of the 2 rotaries (traffic circles). Keep making your way to the NW. Colgate Ave is where I ended up. When you intersect San Vicente Turn right (North). San Vicente turns into La Cerequia and the Green Light is right there. I made it with 1 second left. This is a close one.

Mission 5 - Police Getaway

Escape the police. My preferred method here is to shoot out the police car and blow it up then drive away.

Mission 5 (Alt) - 5 Laps

Beath Lola around the track in 5 laps. As long as you have a semi-fast car you'll be fine.

Mission 6 - Busting Lola

A showdown with Lola. She's tough. I waited until I had a bunch of upgrades before I fought her. There's not much you can do about her tumbling kick. My strategy to avoid it was to run behind the light post and she'd run into that instead of me. She'll definitely do some damage. Just be quick with the punch, kick, punch, kick and don't relent. Block when necessary.

You are on the roof of a building. The sniper is shooting at you. There is a structure in the middle that you can take cover behind. It's kind of a stairwell exit or something. Anyway, if you stand behind it the sniper can't get you. Edge over to the left side of it, facing it, just to where your left arm is at the left corner of the structure. Go into Precision Aim. You should now have your left arm sticking out while the rest of you is behind cover. From this vantage point you can target the windows. Wait for the sniper to come into view and then set up for his shot. You need to Head Shot him.

Mission X - Bonus Cruisin'

Since you've been following this walkthrough to a "T" (ok maybe not) you now have all of the Bonus Cruisin' Weapon Upgrades, Grapple Upgrades and one of the Car Upgrades. Time to get your second car! Make sure you have a good car before you drive into the Green Light. Your '69 Muscle car will work just fine.

New Car #2: '01 Roadster Car

Street Race! Make it to the Green Dot before anyone else does. If you fail, just exit out and reload the Bonus Cruisin' Mission.

Alternative Episode 5 - High Rise Terror

Mission 1 - The Airport Lead

I recommend doing these Alternative Missions after you've either upgraded significantly or completed the 8 main episodes.

You start off on the Kincardine Exit of I-10. Turn around and get on the Highway and head West. Go past 405 and then get off at the Bundy Exit South. Go South on Bundy Blvd. Bundy turns into Centinela Blvd. When you get to Airport Ave turn right (West). Be sure you have a fast car before you enter the Green Light.

Mission 2 - Chasing Assassins

Just chase after the white truck and shoot it to bits.

Mission 3 - A Race Downtown

You have 2:05. You start out heading East on I-10. Take it and then merge right and get onto I-110 North (it's the 2nd I-110 Exit you come to). Get off at the James M. Woods Exit and get onto the road of the same name heading East. Turn left onto Grand St and gun it to the Green Light.

Mission 4 - Bank Standoff

Shoot your way into the bank. No trick, just shoot 'em up. Be aware of the sniper in the parking garage.

Mission 5 - Lobby Firefight

Shoot all of the guys until you don't see any more coming out. Then, you'll hear some "thwumping" sounds. Someone is launching grenades at you from behind the bullet-proof-glass of the teller areas. Find which of the 3 glass areas he is behind and then run up to the teller window and shoot through the hole that you would talk through. This will kill the guy behind the glass. Repeat.

Mission 5 (Alt) - Going Up

Shooting time. Work your way to the stair well. There is a Health Pack there. Go up the stairs. Repeat. Near the end you'll have 5 guys lined up to kill you. As long as you have the "Hollow Point Bullet Upgrade" this mission is easy.

Mission 6 - Hostage Crisis

This is a tough mission. You are going to lose a lot of hostages unless you're either really good or really patient. Don't sweat it too much, though. Just blast your way through this level and if you want to go through with more accuracy later, do so.

In the first cubicle room your going to have the problem that you'll be locked onto the guy on the right of the far door when the 3 guys come out that door and you won't re-aim. It's rotten. All I can say is come from the left side. There is a Health Pack to the right of that same door, near the water cooler.

In the second cubicle room there is a Health Pack right in front of you as you enter. If you go along the left side you'll find another Health Pack hanging on a cubicle wall near the glass windows. There is also a Health Pack along the right side wall opposite the one on the left. Finally, there is one to the left of the far door. That's 4 in this room.

Shoot out the rest of the guys in the hallway and enter the elevator.

Mission 7 - Finale: Bad Politics

Now you have to fight General Kim on the helicopter pad.

Alternative Episode 6 - Rampage

Mission 1 - Revenge Rush

I recommend doing these Alternative Missions after you've either upgraded significantly or completed the 8 main episodes.

You have 1:00 to get to the Gulag. It's a straight shot North on La Cienega then a quick right on Sunset Blvd.

Mission 2 - Rocky's Getaway

Chase after the white limo. Just follow it and shoot it to bits.

Mission 2 (Alt) - Gulag Goons

How many times have we fought here and with the same guys? Anyway, beat 'em up.

Mission 3 - The Bodyguard

You have to fight Rocky's bodyguard, Misha. Just beat him up using whatever combos you like.

Mission 4 - Wu's Turn

Get to Wu's Place. Head NE on Grand until you get to Cesar E Chavez St. Turn right (East). Take Chavez until Broadway St and turn left (West). Take Broadway to the Green Light.

Mission 5 - Payback

Time for a shoot 'em up in Wu's Restaurant. In the room to your right, near the Kitchen Door? is a Health Pack. The two girls at the end are tough if you don't have the "Hollow Point Bullet Upgrade."

Mission 6 - Off to the Airport

You start off heading South on Crenshaw Blvd. Get onto I-10 West. Go past 405 and then get off at the Bundy Exit South. Go South on Bundy Blvd. Bundy turns into Centinela Blvd. When you get to Airport Ave turn right (West). Be sure you have a fast car before you enter the Green Light.

Mission 7 - Finale: Rocky's Loot

Very easy. Just sit in the parking lot in your armored truck and shoot out the two cars. They won't be able to do much damage to you because you're in an armored truck. Once the cars are taken care of, drive away.

Mission X - Bonus Cruisin'

Since you've been following this walkthrough to a "T" (ok maybe not) you now have all of the Bonus Cruisin' Weapon Upgrades, Grapple Upgrades and two of the Car Upgrades. Time to get your third car! Make sure you have a good car before you drive into the Green Light. Your '01 Roadster car will work just fine.

New Car #3: '03 Sports Car

Street Race! Make it to the Green Dot before anyone else does. If you fail, just exit out and reload the Bonus Cruisin' Mission.

Alternative Episode 7 - Blood Money

Mission 1 - Race to Rocky's Lair

I recommend doing these Alternative Missions after you've either upgraded significantly or completed the 8 main episodes.

You have 1:15 to get to Rocky. If you don't have a fast car go back and get one. I have the '03 Sports Car, unlockable car. You start heading North on Holt Ave. Turn around and head South on Holt. Take the quick left onto Pico Blvd. Follow Pico until you get to Hayworth Ave. Turn right (South) onto Hayworth and race to the Green Light.

Mission 2 - Kinks in the Path

Time for the sex dungeon mission. Sneaking time. Avoid the boxes on the floor. If you hit them they'll make noise. Also, there are several Dominatrixes behind the "private" ropes that you'll just have to sneak by when they turn their backs. You can't take them out. Watch out for one last guy near the Green Triangle.

Mission 3 - Freak Show

Fight the freaks. Nothing new here. They'll all pretty easy.

Mission 4 - Rosie's Ransom

Oh no! They have Rosie. You have to go get the cash truck to help Rosie. Head South and hop on I-10 East. Get off at the Crenshaw Exit and turn left (North) onto Crenshaw Blvd. Turn right onto Washington Blvd and there is the Green Light.

Mission 5 - Escaping Masterson

Another easy escape. Just sit there and shoot the FBI cars to bits. Then, drive away.

Mission 6 - Chinatown Showdown

Don't try this mission without having the "Hollow Point Bullet Upgrade." Try to stay in the middle. The armored truck is slowly circling so you can use that for cover if you'd like. I just ran around and shot everybody. There is a Health Pack on one of the green and red decorative poles.

Mission 7 - Finale: Last Stand

Fight Rocky. A hard fight. I found punches to be more effective on him than anything...especially when he goes to attack you can get a good jab in. That's not to say to use exclusively punches. Do some punches, then some kicks, but, more punches than kicks. When you stun him make sure that you use a good combo like the Flying Tiger or something that will do significant damage.

When you beat him you get the final movie. Depending if you are a good cop, a bad cop, or a mediocre cop you'll get one of three endings.
