Episode 6 - The Magnificent 5

This level consists entirely of fighting the first 4 bosses that you faced and then a final boss. It is pure rotten. I spent an entire afternoon/evening and then the better part of a morning before I got through the first 4 bosses. When you get through the first 4 you'll get a Break Time, not a save, but at least if you die you start over there and just have to face the final boss.

Here's what I want you to do. Fight and fight until you earn 25,000 - 50,000 V-Points. Then, next time you die, don't continue but quit. It'll ask you to save. Do so. Then, start the game from the save file and you'll have your money. Now, buy 2 extra lives and a Take 2. The plan is to get to Another Joe without having used your Take 2 yet. This way, you have a Take 2 and 5 lives (4 plus the one you're on) to take him on. If you fail, just restart your game and go from the save file that has the V-Points and start over. In other words, this is a way to save the game with money at hand so that you don't waste it if you die and have to rebuild your money.

As far as fighting the 4 bosses themselves, well, there's nothing really new here except the bosses are a stronger. However, you are a more sophisticated fighter by now so there are a few new tricks that we can use for old bosses.

Charles the Third

The biggest problem here is that you don't have much of a VFX meter. However, see those long columns of V-Films that you can't reach? Well, after he makes the stalactites fall, do an Upper Cut (Down + Punch) to make the stalactite fly up in the air and it'll knock down all of those V-Films for you. Also, on the far right, there is a pink box. When he is stunned, do some VFX Mach Punches and it will allow you to get the Pink Box and there is a 10 V-Film cannister on the inside.

Now that I've mentioned the ability to upper-cut the stalactites, use it to your advantage. You can hit the stalactites into him and knock him down. There is still always the good ol' hit him and then attack the bats method.

Hulk Davidson

Very easy. Grab as many V-Films as you can. Same technique as before: stay close, dodge his 3 skull attack 3 times, jump over his charge/ramming and beat on him with Slow + Zoom + Hold Punch. Also, if you get low on health, there are 3 Hamburger boxes on either side. Use your Mach Speed + Zoom + Hold Punch to get them while attacking him whilst he's stunned. Don't be greedy. Just try to get two sets of 4 punches in on him per stun. Otherwise, he may turn around and one-hit-kill you with his ax.

Gran Bruce

Again, grab as many V-Films as you can before the fight begins. Just follow the technique as before. He shouldn't be much of a problem. All the way to the left and up a little is a Hamburger box with some Health inside.

Another Joe

This guy is the real problem. Again, it's just a matter of being aggressive and staying as near to him as possible at all times. Rip into him any chance you get. If you do what I say above you'll have a Take 2 and plenty of lives to battle him.

Boss Fight - Inferno Lord - Fire Leo

Not a fun fight at all until you get his pattern down. The basic gist is that you have to set yourself on fire by punching one of the fallen rocks using your Mach Speed so that the fire balls can't hurt you, then, rush over to where Leo is standing, do a Red Hot Kick on him, bounce off of him to avoid his swing, avoid any extra fireballs (as your Mach Speed on fire is probably over now), dodge his attacks and Slow + Zoom + Punch in between so so that his shield breaks which causes him to go into a pink spinning mode. Once he's in the spinning mode use your Slow to dodge 5 consecutive attacks then lay into him with Slow + Zoom + Hold Punch hitting him 5 times and then repeat. Got all that? I didn't think so.

Now for the detailed explanation. When the fight first begins run to your right just before the gap in the floor. A rock will fall down (avoid it silly). Use your Mach Speed on it until you set yourself on fire. Now the fireballs that are coming your way can't hurt you. Next, jump the gap and get over to Leo as quickly as possible. When you near him, jump up and do a Red Hot Kick on him (or whatever attack you are comfortable with). This will cause him to stop creting fire balls. Right after you land your Red Hot Kick, jump to avoid his follow-up attack. Stay alert: your first concern is the remaining fireballs flying around. You can double jump over Leo if you need to but just avoid the remaining fire balls whatever you do. Once they have disappeared it's just you and him.

You need to break his shield before you can attack him. He'll attack, go into Slow, dodge the attack and then Slow + Zoom + Hold Punch him. Do this again and again (usually 2 or 3 times) until his shield breaks. Next, jump or stay in slow to avoid his follow-up attack. At this point, he'll start spinning and turn pink. You need to get near him and avoid 5 attacks in a row. You can use your Slow mode to help you with this and, if you need to reset yourself and make your VFX meter fill back up, just double jump over him and make sure that you are not near a gap in the floor. Anyway, when you have avoided 5 attacks in a row (and you'll know this because his last swing will just be a single swing rather than the double swing that he normally uses) he'll be stunned. Slow + Zoom + Hold Punch on him and get a good 5 whacks in on him. This will cause him to lose just over a meter of power and he'll jump back into the lava in the center. Round 1 done, phew.

After that, he'll come flying out of the lava, be careful that he doesn't land on you. Then, wait for him to come at you and then Slow + Double Jump over him. The Slow is necessary so that if a rock comes you dodge it automatically. When you land Mach Speed the nearest rock so as to set yourself on fire again. Now, quickly go over to him, Red Hot Kick him, and repeat the process.

When you've got him down to a meter and half of power (after 3 or 4 rounds of doing the above), he'll jump out of the lava as normal, except this time he runs like a madman...really fast. So, Slow + Double Jump as soon as you see him come out. You'll avoid him and then, again, hit the nearest rock with Mach Speed and go find him and start the process over again. Pretty rotten, eh?

Keep repeating this process until he is dead.
