Path to Sky Temple

Lanayru Province

Castle Town

As you enter Castle Town the Postman will stop you and deliver a letter from Renado. Head to Telma's Bar. Talk to her and then look at the map on the table to have Kakariko Village marked for you. Exit out and warp to Kakariko Village.

Eldin Province

Kakariko Village

When you land, get out of sight and transform into a human. Before you go into Renado's house (the house near the spring) head up to the graveyard to learn a Hidden Skill from the howling stone that you activated earlier. You will learn the Helm Splitter. First "Z" target your enemy. Then, perform a shield attack and hit "A" twice. You'll leap over your enemy, slash him on the way over, and then slash him again from behind.

After learning the Helm Splitter, exit the graveyard and go into the Renado's house. Talk to Renado and he'll give you Renado's Letter. You need to take this to Telma.

Go to Telma's bar and show her Renado's Letter. Telma gives you the invoice for the doctor's tab at her bar. To get to the doctor's office, exit to the main road near Telma's bar and head north. Take the first left. Run all the way to the end and continue north along Castle Town West Road. The doctor's office is right in front of you at the end of the road. Enter. Show the invoice to the doctor. Once he leaves, locate the crate and push it to reveal a green scent. Transform into the wolf and "Sniff" to learn the medicine scent.

Follow the scent by climbing up the crate, up the bookcase, and then along the path to the balcony. Continue to follow it to Louise the cat, who is outside Telma's bar. Louise tells you that the wooden statue that you are seeking is in the area south of the castle. It is being guarded by skeleton dog beasts but they only come out at night. Exit out the south end of Castle Town and go down into the grass. The Skeleton Dogs will spawn. Destroy all of them to gain the wooden statue. You need to show it to Ilia...off to Kakariko Village.

Eldin Province

Kakariko Village

Transform into human form and enter Renado's house. Show Ilia the wooden statue. This brings back some memories for Ilia and the Goron will mark you next destination on the map; a path just north of Bridge of Eldin. Since you can't warp there (Midna tells you you'll fall into the gorge due to the fact that the bridge is out), you'll have to get there the hard way.

Warp back to Castle Town and head north. Go through Hyrule Field on your way to the red target marked on your map. If you're going through Hyrule Field at night, you'll find a Poe on the stone bridge. Defeat him for a Poe's Soul. When you get to the red target, keep an eye out on the left side of the path to find a side path/tunnel. Enter the tunnel and talk to the Goron. He opens the path for you and tells you about the secret village ahead. Go through the tunnel and into the village.

(Note, if you have yet to unlock the Bridge of Eldin warp point, continue past the side path/tunnel to the broken bridge and defeat the three Shadow Beings to activate the portal. You still can't use it, but at least it's activated.)

Hidden Village

Clint Eastwood, where are you? You are in an old west town known as Hidden Village. There are 20 banditos, I mean Gremlin Archers, scattered throughout the town. You need to take out all 20. Note that you have a count down in the bottom right of your screen to keep track of how many you've killed. Many of the Gremlin Archers can be shot with your bow and arrow. The others are on the ground or in buildings and can be defeated with your sword. Also, make use of the exploding barrels positioned around the town and feel free to break windows to enter the west building.

Once all 20 Gremlin Archers are defeated, Impaz will talk to you. She's the one who helped Ilia. She gives you Ilia's charm. After the cutscene, approach Impaz and show her your rod (tee hee)...show her your Dominion Rod. She gives you the Ancient Sky Book. Your work here is almost done.

Before you leave, go into the west side building and break through a window to the west. You'll gain access to a secret area where you'll find a chicken and a howling stone. Since you can't transform into the wolf at this point due to the fact that you'll scare somebody (I guess it's Impaz), exit out of Hidden Village, transform into the wolf, and then re-enter. Go to the howling stone to learn a new howl and to activate a golden wolf (hidden skill) north of castle town.

Finally, it's time to leave Hidden Village. Warp to Kakariko Village.

Kakariko Village

Enter Renado's house and approach Ilia. Show her Ilia's charm. After the cutscene she'll give the charm back to you under a different name. You now have in your possession the horse call. This allows you to call Epona anytime you want.

Next, fall down into the sanctuary hole in the middle of the room. Approach Shad and show him the Ancient Sky Book. He attempts to utter the word that will move the statue to no avail. Instead, Shad gets the bright idea to visit all of the owl statues scattered throughout the land. He marks each one on the map. After that, you regain power for the Dominion Rod, meaning that you can once again move statues! Guess what you have to do? That's right, visit each of the statues marked on the map.

Owl Statue Hunting

Take a look at your map and note the seven red targets. You are at the owl statue in the basement sanctuary of Renado's house. This is the last one you'll visit. You need to go to the other six owl statues and move them to discover the characters to the secret word which will move the sanctuary statue. The order in which you visit the statues doesn't matter, but for organization's sake, they're listed by province below.

Eldin Province

Open your map and hit "Up" on your D-pad to overlay the Portals available to you. There are two red targets that you need to visit. One is near "Bridge of Eldin" and one is near "Kakariko Gorge". You'll be able to warp to Kakariko Gorge, but you can't warp to Bridge of Eldin (unless you've fixed the bridge by warping it from the Gerudo Desert). If you've fixed the bridge, then getting it is quite easy and shouldn't need explanation. If you missed it (as many do) you'll have to get there via Castle Town and Hyrule Field. For the sake of the walkthrough we're going to assume you missed it.

Warp to Kakariko Gorge. Head north to find the owl statue in a cliff wall. Move it out using the Dominion Rod and step onto the green pad. You found a sky character (1 of 6). If you want an orange Rupee (100), then, before you leave, move the statue into the gap on the left of the grass path that goes around and behind where the statue originally was. Use the statue to jump across the gap. Then, take control of the statue again and guide it into the gap on the right side. Using the statue, jump the gap and you'll get to the treasure chest with the orange Rupee.

Lanayru Province

Warp to Castle Town. Head SE along the path. You'll reach the ruins of an amphitheater. There is a Poe here...collect the Poe's Soul. Go down the stairs to the owl statue on the pedestal on the left. Take control of it and then guide it so that it is positioned between the pedestal and the first step of the amphitheater. Jump from the step to the owl statue and then to the green pad on the pedestal. You found a sky character (2 of 6). If you want an orange Rupee, move the statue to the same position on the other pedestal. Jump across and open the treasure chest. Otherwise, onward with statue hunting.

Backtrack and head along the east path. Then, head south towards the water. The path will curve around. When you see the bridge ahead, look right to find the statue underneath a set of vines. Take control of the statue and guide it off the ledge. Place it directly below the vines. Clawshot up to the vines, drop down to the statue and then jump the gap to the green pad. You found a sky character (3 of 6). If you want the orange Rupee here, then, from the green pad, move the statue so that you can jump to it, and then to the treasure chest alcove next door. Otherwise, it's time to head to Eldin Province to get the owl statue near Bridge of Eldin.

Eldin Province

Use your horse call to call Epona. Pretend that you're on your way to Hidden Village (this is the same path). You'll eventually arrive at Bridge of Eldin (the broken bridge). Go out onto the bridge, look right and take out the Gremlin Archer. Then, climb the ledge to the left to find the owl statue. Move it and step on the green pad for a sky character (4 of 6).

Desert Province

In order to get to this owl statue you have to be shot out of the cannon in Lake Hylia. Warp there and approach Fyer at the cannon. Choose the Oasis Flight. You'll be shot into the desert. In front of you is a hog. Ride the hog to the statue marked on your map. Move the statue off of the block and place it so that you can use it to jump the gap to the green pad. You found a sky character (5 of 6). If you want an orange Rupee, from the pad, move the statue so that you can jump to the treasure chest. One more owl statue to go!

Faron Province

Warp to S. Faron Woods. Head north and when the path splits, take the NW path. Just past Coro's house, locate the boulder on the right blocking a path. Use a bomb to destroy the boulder. Follow the path to the owl statue. Move it and step on the green pad to earn a sky character (6 of 6). If you want a Piece of Heart move the statue into the depression (hole) in the ground near the tree. Step onto the rock as the wolf and use Midna to jump to a tucked away alcove. Open the treasure chest for a Piece of Heart.

You have located all six owl statues. Shad will be so proud. Warp to Kakariko Village.

Eldin Province

Kakariko Village

Enter Renado's house and drop down into the basement sanctuary. Go up to Shad and show him the Ancient Sky Book. Shad will say the secret word which will allow you to take control of the owl statue. Do so and move it out of the way. Go forward to find a dilapidated cannon. Go up to it so that Midna is flashing. Talk to her and attempt to warp. You can't because that nosy Shad is still around. Go up to Shad and talk to him to make him leave. Then, go up to the cannon so that Midna wants to talk to you. Summon Midna and warp to Lake Hylia (the only other place where you've see a cannon).

Lanayru Province

Lake Hylia

If you want, now would be a good time to go to any golden wolves you haven't yet visited (howling stones) to learn a new hidden skill. Otherwise, continue on with the paragraph below. In our case, we have to venture down to Ordona Province and visit the spring. This fifth skill is the Mortal Draw. This is a decoy skill. Put your sword away and when the enemy is close to you, look for the "Draw" prompt to appear on the screen. When it does, hit "A" to quickly draw your sword and attack the enemy dealing a fatal blow.

You, Midna and the cannon have all arrived in Lake Hylia. Go talk to Fyer at the fun house (make sure you're human or Plumm the bird will talk to you). Fyer tells you that he can fix your cannon for 300 Rupees. If you don't have 300 Rupees, then a good way to get them is to go to Fyer's Cannon and take the Normal Flight. Then, do the chicken flying to the platforms with all of the treasure chests. The top treasure chest has an orange Rupee (100) and the others have various amounts. Note that on the lower platform you'll encounter a Poe. Collect his Poe's Soul. Once you have the 300 Rupees, visit Fyer at the fun house and choose "Special - Repairs".

Fyer fixes the cannon and it is ready to fire you into the heavens. To do so, go to the back of it and use your Clawshot on the Clawshot pad inside of it. Ooccoo will come a-running and join you.

***Please note, this walkthrough was written for the Wii version of 'Zelda: Twilight Princess', however it will work for the Gamecube version, which is simply a mirrored version of the game. This means when we say "go left", you should go right, and when we say "go east", you should go west. The guide also offers controls specific to the Wii, however this is only done because the Wii controls are so new, and Gamecube gamers will have no trouble following the in-game controller instructions.

The Sky Temple

City in the Sky

You and the Ooccoos land in a pool of water outside the shop. Before you head into the shop, open the treasure chest in the water (use your Iron Boots) for some bombs. Then, head down the southern path to find a cannon. You can Clawshot into this cannon in order to return to Lake Hylia. After that, head west and enter the shop. Speak to Ooccoo, well, the Ooccoo on the left of the counter. If you need to warp out, Ooccoo will take you to this shop (then you can go to the cannon to get back to Lake Hylia). Speak to the shopkeeper and if you want anything, buy it (you probably don't have any money, so don't worry about it now).

When you are done playing around in the shop, exit and head north along the bridge. Take out the red Deku Babas and then put on your Iron Boots so that the wind doesn't blow you away. Look above the door to find a diamond switch. Hit it with an arrow or the Clawshot to open the gate blocking the door. Go through the door and into the shop.

You have officially entered the City in the Sky, or the Sky Temple, if you will. In this room you will see several columns, two of which are covered in vines. Also note the Ooccoos and the blue blocks on the floor. These blue blocks will fall if you stand on them for too long. There nothing you can do with the vines right now, so grab an ooccoo and use it float over to the platform in front of you. Take out the Armadillo. Grab the ooccoo again and float to the next platform. Note that this platform is at the same level as you, so just before you get to it, release the ooccoo and you'll grab onto the ledge. Pull yourself up. Climb up to the door and go through.

You'll enter a large central room with many vine-covered columns. Go up the stairs and grab an ooccoo. Use it to float over to the blue blocks near the east door. Release the ooccoo when you near the blue blocks so that you grab onto the block. Pull yourself up and go through the east door.

You'll end up outside. There is a broken staircase in front of you. Turn right and go forward. Pull out your Clawshot and use it on the vines on the wall to get across the gap. You'll be on a balcony with some gears in the ground. Equip your Spinner and guide it into the spinning gear. Rapidly tap "B" to extend a bridge across the gap. Return to the door you came through using your Clawshot on the vines and then cross the now-extended bridge. Go through the door on the other side.

In this room you'll see several Clawshot pads, some vines leading down in front of you, and a caged in area at the far right. Use your Clawshot on the pad above the caged in area. Drop down to find a treasure chest. Open it for a small key. Exit out of this room using the wall mesh to Clawshot to. There is nothing else you can do at this point.

Cross back over the bridge and, when you get to the door, a jerky dragon will swoop down and destroy the bridge that you worked so hard to extend. Oh well. Go through the door to return to the large central room. Use your Clawshot on the vine column on the right of you to cross the gap. Exit out the west door.

Once again, you have to use the spinner to extend a bridge. Head left and take out the two red Deku Babas. Under the second Deku Baba you'll find a Spinner gear. Equip the Spinner, guide it into the gear, and rapidly tap "B" to spin it. This will extend a bridge. Cross it and go through the locked door using the small key.

Wind ho!!! In this room you'll find three wind turbines (two of which you can currently see). Head left and follow the path around to the corner of the balcony near the vases. Look to the right and locate the diamond switch hiding in a column. Shoot it with your Clawshot to activate it. This will turn off the third wind turbine. Return to where you entered, put on your Iron Boots and move forward past the first fan. To get past the next fan, shoot your Clawshot at the column covered with vines. Drop down and go through the west door.

On the left you'll see a treasure chest. Open it to reveal the dungeon map. Return to the room you just came from. Head through the south door (you deactivated the wind blocking this door by hitting the diamond switch).

You'll find many wind turbines blowing upward in this room. You have to jump the gaps while avoiding the wind. There are a few floor tiles that have a worm under them. When you spot a worm, use your Boomerang on it to get rid of it. Work your way over to the west side of the room by jumping the gaps. There's nothing particularly tricky about it. Just look for blocks to which you can easily jump. Once there, move through the door to the south.

Defeat the two armored Lizalfos (the easiest way is to simply knock them off the blocks). This will open up a new area at the top of the room. Use your clawshot to reach the vines below the new area, then climb into it. Once there, look up and note the gold switch above. Clawshot to it to pull it down. This will cause wind to blow upwards in the middle of the room. Grab an ooccoo and jump into that wind. This will force you up so you can catch the ledge across the way. Pass through the door.

Look up and note another gold switch. Clawshot up to it and watch as a treasure chest is revealed. To get to it, grab an ooccoo and jump into the upward blowing wind in the middle of the room. Once you hit it, face the wall to the right. Move toward it and fall down. You'll find the alcove where the treasure chest was hiding. Open it for a Red Rupee. If you still have the ooccoo, jump back into the wind and go right again (so you're heading east). If you don't have an ooccoo, grab one (you can use your Clawshot to reach those on the wall), then stand on the fan until you are blown upward. If you want a Purple Rupee continue to the far end of the room and collect it from the treasure chest. Otherwise, move through the hole in the north wall so you're in the north section of the room. Float over to the east ledge.

Again, use your Clawshot on the above switch, then use the ooccoo and the fans to float east. Move through the hole at the top of the east wall, then fall to the ground. Go through the north door.

Here you'll find you're inside in a tall circular room. Begin by grabbing the ooccoo and heading straight for the small platform in the middle. Toss the oocco as you reach it and you'll automatically grab onto the ledge. From here face the east side and Clawshot onto the gold switch. This will pull you over and the switch down, opening up the door below. You'll be going through that door in a bit, but, for now, focus on getting to the bottom of the room.

Use an ooccoo to reach the lower platforms, then use your Clawshot to reach the small and very low platforms. Exit out the door at the very bottom of the room. You'll arrive in another (albeit smaller) circular room. Clawshot onto the switch above the fan, then equip your Iron Boots to pull it down. Fall through the fan, into the room below.

To initially deal with the Clawshot Dragon, equip your (ready for this?) Clawshot. Aim it at the dragon as he hovers above you. When he puts his shield forward, you'll get the chance to use your Clawshot. Take it. This will draw the dragon toward you. Use your best sword techniques on him. Repeat the process.

After a couple of rounds the dragon will begin flying through the various holes in the walls, but the technique will remain the same. Just watch where he flies, grab him with your Clawshot, and hack away. Another couple of rounds should do him in. When he dies a new treasure chest will be revealed. Use your Clawshot to reach it, then open it up for the Double Clawshots!

Step out onto the edge of the treasure chest alcove and use your Clawshot to reach one of the pads on the ceiling. While hanging, aim again at the vines hanging from the fan. Release your second clawshot and you'll be taken to the vines. Climb them up and exit out.

Back in the large circular room, work your way around the platforms with your Clawshot. When you reach the blocked door, look up and note the hanging switch. Use your Clawshot to activate it, then lower yourself down from it. Next, note the Clawshot pads in the alcove with the door. While hanging, use your second Clawshot to reach one. Go through the door.

In the next room, look up and right to find the Clawshot pad on the white tube. Grapple from tube to tube to reach the opposite side, but do so quickly, as the tubes will slowly fall once you've connected to one of them. Drop off the last tube onto the platform below and open the nearby chest. Collect the Compass from within. Exit out.

Back outside, use your arrows to take out hanging Deku Babas. Once they're out of the picture, use your Double Clawshot on the grates to make your way along the bottom of the bridge. At the end, look for the vines to the right and Clawshot to them. Climb up and go through the door. You'll be back in the heart of the Sky Temple. Cross east and use the various pads to make your way back through the east door.

Step out onto the broken bridge and look up. Note the many hovering pods. Use your Clawshot from pod to pod to make it to the door across the way. Enter.

Move to the east side of the room and look down into the pit. Note the Clawshot pad on the tube and Clawshot to it. Work your way down the tubes, back to the west side of the room, then drop off the last one onto the platform below. Look through the hole in the wall to the north and Clawshot to the pad here. From here, look up and hit the next pad. Across from you will be an alcove. Use your Clawshot on the grate to reach it, fight the Deku Babas, then collect the arrows from the chest. Use your Clawshot to get to the east side, then through the north hole. Fight the Chus, Clawshot to the west grate, then drop straight down onto the platform below. Shoot the Deku Babas on the ceiling, then use the Clawshot pad to reach the ceiling. Lower yourself down, shoot the diamond switch, then Clawshot through the new opening. Look up and left to find the grate. Clawshot to it, then work your way up to the next grate. Once here, note the door across the way. Look up to spot the pad. Clawshot to it, then drop down. Go through the door (you may care to collect the bombs from the treasure chest to your left before you do).

Fight the Deku Babas on the platform ahead, then place a bomb in the flower. Clawshot up to the white tube, then to the vines on the nearby pillar. Move along the platform and climb up to the next one. Use your arrows on the bats, then carefully make your way along the narrow ledge to the treasure chest. Collect the arrows the continue forward. Before you drop down to the lower platform, look up and note the Clawshot pad on the white tube. You'll be returning here in a minute. However, for now, shimmy across the narrow ledge, shoot the stem of the hanging Deku Baba, then collect the Piece of Heart from the treasure chest. Return to platform where you could hit the white tube pad and Clawshot up to it. Hit the next tube, then the vines. From here, clawshot to the pad above the bridge, then drop down to the bridge. Fight the Lizalfos then exit out the door.

Fight the Deku Babas in the grass, then look up and south. Look for the pod as it comes hovering over your area. Clawshot up to it, then ride it over the south wall. Grab the next one and ride it over the next south wall. Drop down then look west for the next pod. When you spot it moving north to south, grab onto it and ride it south. Aim for the pod in the tree and Clawshot to it. Collect the purple Rupee from the treasure chest, then fight the Poe for a Poe's soul. Return to the above pod and wait for the pod to approach. When it does, grab on and ride it north. While riding, lower yourself so your chain fits through the crack in the wall. Repeat with the next north pod. Once through the next wall, drop down to the ground to collect the bombs from the treasure chest, then wait for the pod to reappear and use it to reach the above platform. Exit out the door.

Use the above pods to work your way back to the center of the temple to the west. (If you want, take the south path first, go through the door and collect the Piece of Heart from the treasure chest). Once you've used the pods to go all of the way west, drop down and go through the door.

Run around the outside area and fight the two armored Lizalfos. When they're out of the picture, move to the east side and locate the vine climbing the outer wall. Climb it to the above platform. Once here, look north and shoot the dragons stop the pillars with your arrows. Next, switch to the wolf and move across the rope. Continue to work your way around the ropes to the north then west. Go through the door.

Look up and locate the gold switch. Equip your Iron Boots and pull yourself up to it. This will stop the fan below. Drop down and take out the large armadillos, then open the treasure chest for the Big Key. Locate the opening in the floor and fall down to the level below. Take out the small armadillos, collect the red Rupee from the treasure chest, then use your Clawshot on the grate above the fan. Lower yourself into the room below (the heart of the Sky Temple), but DON'T release yourself from the chain. Instead, face north and look up. Here you'll spot a retracted gold (or bronze) switch. Clawshot to it then equip your Iron Boots to power up the north fan. Lower yourself to the floor and go through the north door.

The fan you just powered up has made the large propellers between you and the north side of the temple spin. Take out the hovering dragons with a few arrows, then Clawshot your way along the propellers to the north. Go through the north door.

Take out the two Clawshot Dragons, then use your Clawshot to attach to the fan grate that's above the door. Clawshot to the propeller across the way (I suggest the left side), then hit the diamond switch to get the propeller spinning. Clawshot to the next propeller, which can be a bit tricky (I suggested the left side of the first propeller, as you have a slightly larger window of opportunity to hit the second one if your're moving toward it instead of moving away from it). Continue to work your way up the propellers. Be sure to crack all of the vases in each of the alcoves, as one of them holds a fairy.

Once you reach the top propeller, hit the diamond switch across the way, wait for the propeller to turn, then hit the Clawshot pad and drop down to the boss door. Open it up and go through it.

Exit the door and look up and right. Note the grate attached to the pillar. Clawshot up to it, then to the nearby vine. Climb the vine to the top and prepare to meet the Sky Temple Boss.

Look up and note the four pillars surrounding the arena. Clawshot up to the middle of any one of them, then wait for Argorok to get close. Aim for his tail with your Clawshot. Once you're attached, equip your Iron Boots to drag Argorok to the ground. Do this twice to remove the armor from the dragon. At this point you'll be shown a glowing circle on Argorok's back. This circle is the key to taking the big guy down.

To reach the circle on Argorok's back you must first get to the top of any one of the four pillars. Choose one and use your Clawshot to get as high up as you possibly can on it. Once here, look to the nearby pillar and Clawshot as high as you can to it. If you can reach the top from here, great, otherwise, continue going back and forth on the two pillars until you are at the top. Please note, you should move fast, as Argorok will blow fire your way.

The second you pull yourself to the top of one of the pillars, hold your Z-button. With your Clawshot equipped this will automatically target one of the above pods. Zip up to it and continue holding down that Z button. Note the next pod will be automatically targeted. Go ahead and Clawshot from pod to pod by holding Z so you get a feel for it. Once you're comfortable, stop and wait on one of the pods.

Once you stop moving Argorok will focus his fire breath at you. This is good. Wait for him to do it, then quickly move out of its way to the next pod. Continue to make your way around the circle. Once Argorok stops his fire, he'll remain in place. Get to the pod directly behind him, then release "Z" and aim at the circle on his back. Your Clawshot will place you on the dragon's back. At this point, use your sword on his neck. Get as many shots in as possible and you'll be safely lowered to the ground.

Repeat the process two more times. However, you should note that on your third attempt Argorok will get a little smarter (but not a lot). Once he breathes his fire and you begin moving one direction, he'll quickly turn around and hit the next pod in your path. At this point, simply turn around and start heading the opposite direction until you reach his back. Hack away at him a final time to take him down.

Collect the Mirror Shard and the Heart Container, then hop into the portal. You will be returned to the cannon in the sky. Clawshot into it and you'll arrive back at Lake Hylia. Get out of the water and warp to the Mirror Chamber (north part of the desert). Here the pieces of the mirror will come together and the Twilight world will open up to you. If you want to stock up on supplies, do so before entering. I suggest getting some arrows and medicine, although neither are vital to making it through the next Temple. When you're ready, step on the white rectangle next to the mirror then up the new set of stairs. Hit "A" to enter the portal.
