N-Gage QD (Quick Disaster?)

You all know how much I loved to make fun of the Nokia N-Gage. Now, they have announced the follow up to their craptacular original. The N-Gage QD is about 20% smaller than the original and addresses the two main complaints: awkward phone ergonomics and taking out the battery to change games. It will debut in America in late June for a price of $199.

OK, first of all, Nokia was so stupid to release the first one at $299 with all of its inherent flaws. Now, they offer a seemingly better product for $199. Think about those poor 7 people who bought the original and now see, only year later, that there is a better piece of crap for $100 less. Gee wiz.

Also, the name QD...let's think what that could mean? Quality Disaster? Quick Depression? Quixotic Desperation? I hated the original and I'm not going to reserve judgement on the second version...I hate it too. Nokia should simply get out of the jack-of-all-trades game device and stick to making phones.

The lesson they should have learned from the first N-Gage is that nobody wants one.
