The source goes on to say, "Halo 2.5 will come preloaded with the optional HDD. It'll be one of the two reasons to get the Xbox 2 that comes with a hard drive. The other reason... well, you'll just have to wait."
It is no surprise that the XboxNEXT is said to have several versions: a bare bones version, an upgraded HDD version, and a home entertainment-type version that would also play PC games, have a CD burner, a DVD drive, and a full version of Windows.
This is both good news and bad news, if you ask me. The good news is that you'll finally be able to play "Halo 2" the way it was meant to be played. The bad news is that you'll finally be able to play "Halo 2" the way it is meant to be played. I find it upsetting that Bungie and MS would release a game that didn't give the gamer all it had to offer. I paid $55 for a game that they knew had been chopped up and compromised? Jerks! And, I wouldn't say that unless I thought that "Halo 2" was an inferior game. It was short, it was repetitive, the graphics were good but not groundbreaking and multiplayer is fun, but not as fun as some other XboxLIVE games.
Perhaps they should have called "Halo 2" "Halo 1.5" and saved "Halo 2" for the XboxNEXT.
Oh, and thanks to suicide_samurai for posting the story on the lunaboards.
