Hillary Clinton Joins Anti-Game Force

Nationally syndicated columnist, Jacob Sullum, recently
wrote this piece on Hillary Clinton's new found cause of protecting kids from video games. Citing a recent Kaiser Family Foundation study (the same one that said kids today are very good multi-taskers), Hillary has proposed a $90 million study into the effects of violent video games on kids. Once again, we have a politician who doesn't understand what they're fighting against.

And, once again we have GTA being the be all and end all of terrible games. What we don't need is a $90 million taxpayer-funded study. What we DO need is an education and PR campaign (think NBC's "The More You Know" and Fox's "V-Chip" ads) that educates parents on the current rating system and on potential problems with playing games (like being addicted to Everquest). It's time to stop chastising games for easy and convenient political capital and actually do something about it. In other words, you can't complain if all you propose is a study.
