Goldman Sachs Guesses at Xbox2 Price
Wednesday - April 13, 2005
GamesIndustry.biz is reporting that Goldman Sachs, a leading financial analyst firm, is expecting the Xbox2 to launch at a $249-$299 price point and to ship 3 million units by the end of the year. This prediction is partially based on the
news that the Xbox2 will premier on MTV. The Xbox2 is rumored to launch in the October/November 2005 timeframe. I agree with Goldman Sachs on the price point. I think anything above the $300 mark will make the new Xbox difficult to move. And, if it is as cheap as $250, then consumers will have a real choice to make between the PSP and the Xbox2 come Christmas time. Of course, if Goldman Sachs
oil super spike prediction is correct, we'll all be riding our bikes to get the latest Xbox.
