Electronic Arts and Valve yesterday announced a multi-year publishing/distributing deal which will bring gamers Half-Life 2: Game of the Year Edition (PC), Counter-Strike: Source (PC) and Half-Life 2 (Xbox), which is slated for an October release. This move is part of "EA Partners", a segment of EA which seeks out top studios who are underserved and offers them EA's world-wide distribution channels, making for a good deal for both companies. This is an odd case, however, as it is not as if Valve is a struggling second tier developer. Still, the more good games that get into the hands of gamers, the better.

EA AND VALVE TEAM UP TO DELIVER HALF LIFE
