Game Boy Micro Makes Solid Debut in Japan

Tags: GameCube

Tuesday - September 13, 2005
While it will be another week before the sales reports of yesterday's Game Boy Micro release in Japan are available, Reuters is today reporting that Japan's gamers welcomed the 2.8 ounce Game Boy Micro with pre-orders. "Solid orders" and "70 per cent of entire GBM stock pre-sold" are comments coming out of store owners in Japan. What's more, Nintendo's target GBM audience, young adults aged 25 to 35, are, indeed, attracted to this miniature Game Boy, particularly the "limited edition" Famicon version, which was designed "in the color of the once-popular Famicon game console", which many 25 to 35 year olds played in the 80s.
The GBM will launch in the US on September 19th and in Europe on November 4th.
