And OrigenXbox360 is...the lamest viral marketing campaign since the dawn of time. Well, OK, there is the one I tried to start to promote the making of more pirate games, but that's a different story. Yes, the countdown clock has reached zero at OrigenXbox360.com (well, at least it has in the UK) and what is revealed is a contest where you can enter to win trips to an Xbox 360 launch party in the US. Hmm? A contest. Not Halo 3, not a a world wide launch of gaming hubs, that some people had speculated, and not any other hardware or software news. A contest. Do I sound disappointed? I am. Still, the launch party will most likely take place in Times Square where MS will reveal an Xbox 360 store...big whoop. Hey, MS, you guys are launching the next generation of gaming and this is what you came up with?

OK, now that I've actually seen the site I'm even more disapointed and confused. First, when you choose your country, there is no USA or Canada. WTF? So, I went ahead and chose Britain. I sat through the annoying bunnies and then entered the contest. Again, WTF? There is no USA or Canada in the list of countries. What the heck is the point? If MS wanted an Europe-only contest, well, they should have made the URL OrigenXbox360.co.uk, etc. I'm angry. Nice work MS.
