*The Warriors (PS2, Xbox)
From Rockstar Games, based on the 1979 cult film classic, The Warriors recreates the movie and has you brawling your way from one side of NYC to the other. Rockstar claims this will reinvigorate the "brawler genre". Seeing some videos of cutscenes from the game, it does look very impressive.

F.E.A.R. (PC)
A highly anticipated FPS. You are part of an elite special forces team sent in to a billion dollar aerospace compound where hostages have been taken. It sounds like every other first person shooter/movie I've seen. Maybe it'll eventually make its way to a console where I can berate it based on experience rather than heresay and speculation.

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (Gamecube)
This RPG series which you may recall on the GameBoy is back to home consoles. A classic RPG, heavy on story telling and character development, this is good one to check out if you're in the mood.

*Shadow of the Colossus (PS2)
From the team that brought you ICO, Shadow of the Colossus will have you once again solving puzzle after puzzle. This time, however, you are on a living, moving puzzle; a Colossus. Atmospherics and game play are said to be excellent. You have a horse, too.

*Tony Hawk's American Wasteland (THAW) (PS2, Xbox, GameCube, DS)
Another Tony Hawk? Yes, and this time it's one huge level. You are able to skate or bike the vast urban landscape of Los Angeles. All of the classic Tony Hawk elements are here. Like we say with all Tony Hawk's...if you liked the last one, you're going to like this one.

*Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse (Xbox, PC)
Braaaaaaiiiiiiins! Based on a reworked version of the Halo engine and made by Halo's executive producer, this third person action game has you star as Stubbs, an anti-hero zombie who uses his own body parts as weapons. You can also possess other characters and, of course, eat brains!

Age of Emires III (PC)
Although we don't cover PC games, we have always been big fans of the Age of Empires series. In this third installment you'll be a European power out to colonize the New World. Get your small pox and slaves ready!

Sniper Elite (PS2, Xbox, PC)
Set in 1945 Berlin, you are an American soldier trained by the OSS. Disguised as a German sniper, you need to use stealth and a steady aim to help keep nuclear technology out of the hands of the Russians. Confusing? You betcha. Sounds fun, though. But hey, I'm a big fan of the Sniper.

Blitz: The League (PS2, Xbox)
Midway ditched any reference to the NFL to come up with this nasty and unusual football experience. Besides the on-field action, there is a complete story mode which has you train your players, even allowing them to take steroids and party too hard...which of course will be detrimental to your efforts. If you want a sleazy football game, this is it.

Quake IV (PC)
Speaking of highly anticipated FPS's, Quake IV is being released for the PC. Based on Quake III technology, Quake IV's story mode picks up where Quake II left off while the multiplayer is a polished version of Quake III: Arena. This game will be coming out for the Xbox 360 later in the year, perhaps as a launch title on Nov. 22.
