Judge Blocks California Video Game Law
Thursday - December 22, 2005
When are you politicians ever going to start listening to me? I have told you time and time again
that governmental regulation of video games is unconstitutional, and you just keep trying and trying.
I am neither lawyer nor judge, but time and time again I have pointed out the cases in Illinois
, and Washington
, the only states that have passed violent video game legislation, each, now, not allowed to enforce the legislation because judges have ruled that such legislation unconstitutional. So, it should be no surprise to any of you that late yesterday a California judge ruled to block the state's video game law
as it, "unconstitutionally restricts minors' rights to information". Now, this is only a preliminary injunction, but we know how this story will end, don't we?
Please, politicians, stop wasting taxpayers' money. We all want the same result, and that's keeping "mature" games out of the hands of kids. It's just, my way
will actually accomplish that, without spending nearly the amount of money you're spending appealing these no win situations.
