ESA lobbies California politicians

ESA lobbies California politicians

Wednesday - June 21, 2006
GamePolitics.com is reporting today that the ESA (Electronic Software Association) held a lobbying event for California legislators on Monday. ESA President Doug Lowenstein and ESA General Counsel Gail Markels were both on hand during the day's meetings and evening soiree.

Despite the fact that the ESA blocked a piece of legislation passed by these elected officials, about 150 politicians, their staffs and family members, were in attendance at this Sacremento shindig, where refreshments were served and E-rated games like "Dance Dance Revolution" and a "Ping Pong" game were on hand.

While lobbying has earned itself a dirty name as of late, it's nice to see it working in such a genuine way. Meet with industry leaders, become educated on their opinions, then have some punch and play some games. Nice.
