In a press conference yesterday, Ken Toyoda of Nintendo announced that the next Nintendo home console will be on display at E3 2005. He was careful to say that this wasn't just an upgrade of the GameCube but a whole new gaming machine stating, "It?s not necessarily a successor to GameCube." There is no release date information and no pricing information at this point. The move definitely puts pressure on Microsoft and Sony to have an early version of their next-gens on display at E3 2005 as well.
