Sony Not Happy With PSP Price Speculation

We informed you last week that many sources were reporting the "accidentally revealed" $300 price tag of the Sony PSP by SCEE Germany Managing Director Manfred Gerdes. According to this week's Gamespot Rumor Control, the quote originated from SPOnG, and was printed without mention of where it was said and without context. While the $300 price point most definitely falls within analysts' expectations, Sony is aggressively denying the comments attributed to Gerdes. Sony reminds us that an official price has not been announced and anyone quoting a price at this point is merely speculating.
