Nintendo chose to sit out the huge Tokyo Game Show (Sept. 24-26, 160,000 visitors), causing many to speculate that Sony's PSP would take the day, thus beginning the erosion into Nintendo's virtual monopoly on hand-held gaming. However, the way it played out is that Sony shot itself in the foot with a clunky, battery sucking device while Nintendo revealed that the price of the slick Nintendo DS (Nov. 21) would be $149. Nintendo's stock price has jumped and continues to go higher. And, in other Nintendo news, ex-Nintendo Pres. and current advisor, Hiroshi Yamauchi, will propose that Nintendo create an animated film based on 7th and 13th century poems...an anthology of 100 poems by 100 poets. Hmm? Better stick to Pok?mon.
