this article from the Guardian detailing a graphics patent violation suit lodged against all major game makers by Tektronix. The patent in question was granted in 1988 and covers a technique that almost every game maker uses for 3D modelling. If it's the same
Tektronix based right here in Portland, OR (actually, Beaverton, don't laugh), then they have changed their focus from printing to electronic test equipment, but I think they have. The Tektronix group are regulars at the restaurant I work at, so I'll be sure to eavesdrop as much as possible.
