Halo 2 Release Date Broken?

Gamespot is this morning reporting that gamers from several Midwestern states claim to have already purchased Halo 2 (due to be released on November 9th) from local stores. Gamespot cites the Gaming Age forums where photos of the limited edition version of the game have been posted, along with reports of individuals picking the game up at several Meijer stores. Gamespot also provides links to a few of these copies being sold on eBay. Meijer stores operate out of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky, and they are self-described as a "grocery and general merchandise retailer". Specifically, stores in Toledo, Ohio were mentioned by those who claim to have their paws on this game. Ah Ohio. I'll just leave it with that.
