According to Reuters
the initial shipment of 200,000 PSPs that were available today for the launch of the PSP in Japan have sold out. This, really, is no surprise as there was such a small number of units to begin with. Sony claims that they will have 300,000 more units available by the end of the year and will have sold through 3 million PSPs worldwide by the end of March '05. In comparison, as we reported earlier
, Nintendo expects to sell through 5 million Nintendo DSs
by the end of March '05. There's still something in my gut that is telling me that the PSP is the next N-gage. But hey, I could be wrong. The PSP will launch in the US in early 2005 for an estimated price of $185-$190.
