) to ship the consoles directly from their factories in China to NA and Europe. According to the article, the high cost of shipping will cut in half the margin Sony makes on the PS2. In addition, even though this air lift will help, it won't ease all the shortfalls. In an interesting side bit, part of the reason for the shortages in Europe is that a Russian oil tanker ran aground in the Suez canal causing a major backup. One of the backed up ships is loaded with PS2 for Europe.
