The LB 2004 Game of the Year

Happy New Year's Eve to all! On this final day of '04 Allison and I have decided to give our Lunabean 2004 Game of the Year to....drum roll please....Tales of Symphonia. This marks the second year in a row that we've given this award to an RPG (last year was KOTOR) and the first time a GameCube exclusive game has made our list. Both Allison and I feel this is the only game to have elevated itself above and beyond the other sequel-heavy offerings of '04. Sure, there were a lot of really good games but "ToS" is among the elite. The gameplay is nearly perfect, the story is amazing, the scale of the game is enormous, and the settings are creative and brightly drawn. This is the type of game where you actually care about the characters and figuring out what to do next is sometimes a challenge (a good thing). So there you have it.
