Castlevania DS Details Emerge

Konami of Europe today officially unveiled a new Castlevania game for the Nintendo DS. The game, set in 2036, a year after the event of Aria of Sorrow (GBA), places the protagonist, Soma Cruz, in the middle of a secretive cult's plans to resurrect their lord and master, Dracula. While the 2D side-scroller will maintain the classic gameplay fans of the series have come to expect, the DS's touch screen capability will bring to the game "innovative gameplay elements". For example, according to GamesIndustry.biz, there is a new "Magic Seal" system where, "by using the stylus directly on the screen, players must connect a series of symbols in the proper order to unlock an enchanted opening and disperse their enemy's magic into it when they are weakened."
