Boy, there sure is a lot of deal making going on these days. In response to Take-Two's deal with the Major League Baseball Player's Association, EA's vice president of corporate communication said, "As far as we're concerned, this looks like stupid money...They are paying an exclusive price for a nonexclusive agreement." That pretty much sums up what I think about the deal as well. It's as if Take-Two felt so pressured to make a deal to offset the EA-NFL and EA-ESPN deals that it didn't care about the terms of the deal. Nonetheless, the current sports deal craze is exciting to watch. Stay tuned to see what happens with the NBA, NHL, PGA and NASCAR.
