New Jersey Attorney General Peter Harvey today has today filed suit against Blockbuster Inc., claiming the video and game rental chain is using deceptive advertising and violating the state's consumer fraud laws with its new "No More Late Fees" rental policy.
"Blockbuster boldly announced its 'No More Late Fees' policy, but has not told customers about the big fees they are charged if they keep videos or games for more than a week after they are due," said the attorney general in a statement released today. Blockbuster is defending its policy, and has released its own statement saying they are both surprised and disappointed in the lawsuit.
