News Corp Denies Eidos Interest

Last week we told you about an article from GamesIndustry.biz which stated Rupert Murdoch's News Corp was set to acquire the video game publishing company Eidos Interactive. However, this week, Eurogamer.net is reporting that, "News Corp sources have today flatly denied that the company is in any kind of buyout talks with Eidos". Oddly enough, the News Corp staffer who spoke to Eurogamer suggested someone inside the company leaked the rumor then bought the stock and watched it go up. Now, I'm not too knowledgable concerning the world of stocks, but I'm thinking that what this News Corp staffer is suggesting happened is illegal. Of course, these are the people who bring us Fox News, so why should such behavior surprise any of us? Either way, we'll keep you updated when and if this saga continues.
