The ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) has announced a new rating, E10+, which would be placed on games with content suitable for kids 10 and older. The rating is meant to fill the gap between E (Everyone) and T (Teen). Games that had previously been teen, for example,
Super Smash Bros. Melee and
Ratchet and Clank, would now qualify for the E10+ rating. The rating will not be placed retroactively but will be debuting soon. The rating's definition: "Titles in this category may contain more cartoon, fantasy or mild violence, mild language, and/or minimal suggestive themes." For more info, check out the
ESRB Ratings Guide and this
