Nintendo has announced that it has sold five million Nintendo DS's worldwide. These figures are independently confirmed by NPD and Media Create, companies that track sales figures, according to
GamesIndustry.biz. The five million is well within Nintendo's prediction of five to six million units sold by March 31. For comparison's sake, the Sony PSP has sold 2.5 million units, but has yet to launch in Europe (Sept. 1). Nintendo does have a five month head start on Sony in this comparison. Sony missed it's prediction of 3 million units by the end of March. I know why. It's too expensive!
