As is the case with all articles like this, very few details are provided in the "sting operation", with the exception of one where a mysterious retail clerk asked the age of a kid purchasing Doom 3 and sold it to him despite his answer that he was only 13. Granholm's solution for this "garbage that is peddled to our kids," is to create a law infringing on the First Amendment Rights of kids. My solution would be to fire the clerk (whom you know was 16 years old), then figure out how in the hell a nine year old has $50 to spend on a video game, a means to get to a store without a parent, and a desire to purchase a disgusting game like Manhunt. Then I'd start working on a real problem concerning the well being of children in this country today, like the 11 million of them who currently are without any form of health insurance.
Again, I understand the concern here, but these solutions and these fake investigations by our nation's leaders who then feign disgust are both ridiculous and embarrassing.
